Notable Cases On Monday, at 4:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Sullivan Avenue and 92 nd Street on a report of a traffic collision. The driver hit two parked cars. After a short investigation, the subject, a 33-year old San Francisco resident, for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. On Tuesday, at 5:34 p.m., Officer Sprader was on bicycle patrol at the Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot due to the recent increase in vehicle burglaries. Officer Sprader made contact with the driver of a vehicle near the Target store. The driver admitted to having a suspended driver's license, as well as no insurance and said he was on probation. The passenger admitted to also having a suspended license and said she was living out of her vehicle. Other officers arrived to assist, and Officer Sprader found a pocket knife on the male and saw several more knives in the center console. Officer Garay searched the female, and she found two shaved keys in her possession. The female initially said she received the keys from work but later admitted that they just shaved them so that they could break into cars. When officers searched the vehicle, they found a scale and baggies containing suspected methamphetamine. The male, a 34-year old transient, and the 32-year old female were both arrested for possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession with intent to use a master key, unauthorized use of another s identity, conspiracy and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. On Wednesday, at 4:33 a.m., Officer Hamilton was dispatched to the Westlake Shopping Center on a report of a subject driving recklessly in the parking lot near Nation s. When Officer Hamilton and Officer Sunga arrived, they saw the vehicle parked with three subjects standing outside of it in the lot. One of the subjects spontaneously admitted to driving the vehicle and said he his father was getting ready to sell it, and he wanted to have fun with it before he sold it. Officer Hamilton could see visible fresh black skid marks on the asphalt and could smell fresh burnt rubber near the vehicle. Luckily the subject s vehicle did not collide with the numerous hazards and fixed objects in the parking lot. The officer cited the subject, a 19-year old San Francisco resident, for reckless driving.

2 On Wednesday, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the San Mateo County Probation Department asked us to assist them on a search of a residence on the unit block of Werner Avenue of a subject on probation for possession of an assault weapon. During the search of the subject s bedroom, the probation officer found a handgun under the subject s mattress. The subject shares the bedroom with his girlfriend and their two small children. A complaint is being sought against the 22-year old suspect for violation of probation, child endangerment and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. On Thursday, at 9:53 a.m., a U.S. Postal service letter carrier was sprayed in the face with pepper gas by a female subject after a minor traffic altercation between the parties at Sullivan Avenue and Southgate Avenue. The female, a 20-year old San Francisco resident, was arrested for assault with a caustic chemical. On Friday, at 7:09 p.m., Officer Clinkscales was on patrol in the area of Mission Street and Bismark Street when he saw a male pacing back and forth. The officer contacted the subject and asked what he was doing. The subject said he was meeting a girl there and provided his identification, a medicinal marijuana card. The dispatchers advised the subject had a history of narcotics-related charges, and the officer asked the subject if he had anything illegal on him. The subject said he had some pills and admitted they were ecstasy pills. The subject handed the bag of pills to the officer, and the officer cited the 32-year old San Francisco resident for possession of a controlled substance. The officer learned later in his shift that the amount of pills the subject possessed is actually over the amount for personal use. A complaint will now be sought for a change in the offense. On Saturday, at 8:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Franciscan Mobile Home Park on a report of a domestic dispute. As Officer Ortega arrived on scene, he could hear loud yelling and banging coming from inside the residence. The female resident said her boyfriend of 10 years was upset because she received a letter from the mobile home park management about his living status. The two began to argue, but the female said it was never physical. When the officer was speaking with the male subject, he noticed the subject couldn t control the movement of his fingers and his speech was rapid. Believing the subject may be under the influence of a stimulant, the officer asked the subject if he would participate in field sobriety tests. The subject agreed, and after administering the tests, Officer Ortega determined that the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject admitted to using methamphetamine earlier that day. The subject, a 35-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robberies There were three robberies during the past week. On Thursday, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a 67-year old Daly City resident was the victim of a robbery in front of his residence on the 400 block of El Dorado Drive. The victim said he had gone to the Bank of America on Gellert Boulevard to pick up money in preparation for a trip he was taking. The victim said after that, he drove to the Chase Bank on Junipero Serra Boulevard to take two watches from his safety deposit box. The victim said he drove home, and when he closed his door, a newer model, red Toyota RAV4 pulled to a sudden stop directly behind his car. He said a subject described as a black or mixed race man in his 20 s with short curly hair, approximately 5 8, 170 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, exited the vehicle. As that subject approached the victim, the victim said the vehicle pulled in front of the victim s car. The victim said the subject reached out with his hand and grabbed the bag from the victim. The victim said he held on tightly causing a struggle; however, the subject then grabbed the bag and caused the victim to fall backwards onto his back. The victim said the suspect then kicked him and grabbed the bag. The suspect got back into the vehicle, and the vehicle fled onto Southgate Avenue. The victim suffered a cut to his index finger, lip and an abrasion to his elbow. This case is referred to investigators. On Saturday, at 12:08 a.m., officers were dispatched to a call of a robbery that occurred at Lincoln Park a couple of hours earlier. Three victims, (15 & 18 year old Daly City residents and a 14- year old South San Francisco resident) said they were at the park and were approached by two

3 unknown subjects, one of whom pulled out a pocket knife at the 15-year old female victim. The suspect asked if the victims had any money, drugs, alcohol, weed, food or electronics on them, and the victims said they didn t have anything. The victims said both of the suspects began circling them. The first suspect then took each of the victims cell phones and fled with the other suspect. The victims described the first suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately years old, 5 6, 160 lbs., wearing a black beanie, orange hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. They described the second suspect as a Hispanic male adult, approximately years old, 5 5, 200 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The victims delayed calling the police, stating they were afraid. On Sunday, at 1:20 p.m., a security guard for Lucky s reported when he attempted to contact a suspect for stealing food and beverages, the suspect handed over the food but refused to comply with his request to return a can of beer. The guard said the suspect became agitated and confrontational and motioned with striking movements that he was going to assault him with the beer can. The suspect instead sprayed the victim with the beer about his face and eyes before fleeing the store with a sandwich he also stole. The victim described the suspect as a Filipino male, 25-years old, medium complexion, 5 4, 135 lbs., short black hair and wearing dark jeans, black/gray hoodie, dark ball cap and carried a yellow drawstring bag/backpack. Residential Burglaries There was one residential burglary during the past week. On Monday, between 8:20 a.m. and 10:50 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the side door window of a residence on the 300 block of Lowell Street and took miscellaneous electronics, jewelry and cash. This case was referred to investigators. Commercial Burglaries There were two commercial burglaries during the past week. Between Sunday, at 5:00 p.m. and Monday, at 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed a window to burglarize a sales trailer for Lafferty Homes located on the 1500 block of Bryant Street. The suspect took a camera, a chair and flash cards. During the early morning hours of Tuesday, , two cars inside of the Luxury Auto Repair business on the 1600 block of Bryant Street were burglarized. The owner of the business captured the suspect committing the crime on his video surveillance and determined it was his niece s boyfriend who committed the burglaries. (His niece is an employee of the business.) Officers arrested the 28 year old suspect, a South San Francisco resident, a couple days later for burglary. Vehicle Burglaries There were twelve vehicle burglaries during the past week. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Macy s nothing was taken from a 2015 Honda CRV. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m Junipero Serra Boulevard (4 th floor of parking structure) a backpack containing a driver's license, Medicare card and cash was taken from a 2000 Lexus RX300. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Parking lot at 355 Half Moon Lane sunglasses were taken from the glove compartment and a Michael Kors bag containing a Giant s sweater and shoes was taken from the trunk of a 2013 BMW 528. Entry made via unknown means. Occurred between 4:00 p.m. on and 6:10 p.m. on

4 700 block of Mountain View Drive a laptop bag containing a work computer was taken from a 2007 Honda CRV. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on at an unknown time. **On-line report made on block of Rio Verde Street nothing was taken from a 2015 Acura MDX. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on at an unknown time. **On-line report made on Parking lot at 368 Imperial Way a tool kit, Ray Ban sunglasses, a prayer book, currency and a pouch containing credit cards was taken from a 2014 Mercedes Benz 350. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 4:45 p.m. on and 6:20 p.m. on block of Mission Street a briefcase containing currency, jewelry, jewelry tools, and a calculator was taken from a 1999 Toyota Corolla. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 5:30 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Westlake Shopping Center parking structure (on Lake Merced Boulevard) nothing was taken from a 2015 Mercedes Benz GL250. The right front window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. 300 block of Imperial Way a passport, sunglasses and important paperwork was taken from a 2011 Audi Q7. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 10:00 p.m. on and an unknown time on **On-line report made. 300 block of Lake Merced Boulevard nothing was taken from a 2013 Mercedes Benz C250. The right front window was smashed. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on and 10:30 a.m. on block of Oriente Street paperwork was taken from a 2004 Mazda Miata. The convertible top was cut. Occurred between 10:00 p.m. on and 11:00 a.m. on Kamemeshi House Restaurant parking lot a flashlight and charging cable was taken from a 2015 Toyota RAV4. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Stolen Vehicles There were ten vehicles stolen during the past week. Six were recovered. 200 block of Westbrook Avenue a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. Occurred between 5:00 p.m. on and 7:15 a.m. on CVS parking lot on Gellert Boulevard a 1992 Honda Accord. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on and 6:00 a.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on block of Polaris Way a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. Occurred between 12:00 p.m. on and 11:00 a.m. on **Recovered by Oakland P.D. on Unit block of Eaton Avenue a 1999 Subaru Outback. Occurred between 2:00 p.m. on and 7:15 a.m. on block of Skyline Drive a 2014 Nissan Sentra. Occurred on between 3:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. 100 block of Santa Cruz Avenue a 1992 Toyota pickup. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on and 6:00 p.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on Unit block of Oaklawn Drive a 1998 Nissan Sentra. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on and 2:00 a.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on Gateway Drive/Skyline Drive a 1998 Subaru Impreza. Occurred between 11:00 p.m. on and 11:30 a.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on block of Abbot Avenue a 2002 Toyota 4Runner. Occurred between 11:00 p.m. on and 6:00 a.m. on ** Recovered by Daly City P.D. later in the day. Unit block of Garibaldi Street a 1994 Honda Accord. Occurred between 11:45 p.m. on and midnight on

5 Miscellaneous There were 2 hit and run crashes We responded to 8 domestic disturbance cases There were 3 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold We made 5 warrant arrests There were 6 DUI arrests Scams/Other Utility Worker Imposter This didn t happen here, but it happened in our neighboring city, South San Francisco. On Friday, at 2:32 p.m., a reporting party saw an unknown male subject, believed to be a PG&E employee, standing in front of his residence on Hillside Boulevard. The reporting party said a few minutes later, she saw the suspect on the side of his house next to the backdoor. The suspect was startled and immediately left the area. The victim saw the screen on his screen door was ripped, and the suspect had unlocked the screen door to try to get to the exterior door. The suspect was only described as a Hispanic male in his 30 s wearing a yellow reflective vest and a white hard hat with a flap on the back. PG&E was contacted and said they had no employees in the area. I don t want to create paranoia, but if you see someone who seems out of place (perhaps no work truck in sight), please just call us and we ll come out to take a look. Luckily the resident was home which scared away a potential burglar. PG&E Scam I have reported on this in the past, and unfortunately this happened again. A husband and wife reported they received a call from an unknown Spanish speaking subject who said he was Fernando Fontana and that their utilities would be shut off if they did not immediately pay $ to PG&E. They were instructed to go to a Walgreen s and purchase a MoneyPak card, which they did, and they transferred the funds to the suspect. The victims reported the suspect tried again to get them to send more money, but they became suspicious and refused. Community Events/Information Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event Saturday, December 10, 2016 San Mateo County residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW) free of charge on Saturday, December 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. only by appointment. Residents are required to schedule an appointment at San Mateo County s HHW program on line at or by phone at (650) and select option 3. You will be given the drop off location after you make your appointment. Accepted items include acids/bases, aerosol cans, automotive supplies (car batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid), cleaning products, fertilizers, pesticides, flammable liquids, fluorescent lights (compact and tubes), paint, inks, and photo chemicals. No radioactive, explosive, medical or commercial waste is allowed. All waste collected is reused, recycled, or stabilized for proper disposal to achieve zero waste being landfilled.
