Notable Cases On Monday, at 3:50 a.m., Officer Ben Wagnon was on patrol in the area of Mission Street and Acton Street and saw a group of five subjects crossing the roadway against a red light, causing a vehicle to stop and yield. Officer Wagnon contacted the group near the intersection of Sickles Avenue and Sears Street in San Francisco. When he pulled his vehicle up to the curb, Officer Wagnon saw one of the subjects carrying a blue bottle of Skyy vodka. Some of the subjects kept on walking away from the officer. Other officers arrived to assist Officer Wagnon and discovered a loaded handgun in close proximity to the area where the subjects were contacted. A witness said she was aware that one of the subjects had been in possession of the handgun prior to being stopped by the police. The subject, a 19-year old San Francisco resident, was identified as the one who possessed the handgun and was arrested for possessing a concealed loaded handgun. On Thursday, at 3:21 p.m., Officer Korey Sprader stopped a vehicle for speeding and making illegal lane changes on Mission Street near Parkview Avenue. The driver, a 55-year old Daly City resident and convicted felon, said he was in a hurry and apologized for his driving. Officer Sprader asked if he had anything illegal in his vehicle, and the subject said only marijuana and consented to a search of his vehicle. Officer Sprader found a small amount of marijuana and a stun gun underneath the center console. He also found a brown bag containing a glass cylindrical pipe, commonly used to ingest methamphetamine. The subject said the stun gun and the methamphetamine pipe belonged to his girlfriend. He was issued a citation for these offenses and was released. On Saturday, at 1:36 p.m., Officer Nicholas McCarthy and Officer Lee Aquila were dispatched to the Century Movie theaters on the report of two male subjects walking with guns. The caller advised the dispatchers that he saw one of the males brandish a pistol and point it at

2 one of the theater employees. Officers responded to the theater and found no one matching the suspect s description. After 30 minutes of investigation with nine officers responding, officers determined a 16-year old San Francisco resident had made a false report. Officers transported the subject back to the station and asked the subject for permission to search his cell phone. The officers determined the subject called DCPD in October with a false report, causing approximately 23 minutes of investigation, as well as another instance in October where 35 minutes were spent investigating a no merit report. The subject apologized for making these calls and said he didn t know why he made the calls. The subject was transported to juvenile hall for making a false emergency police report. On Saturday, , at approximately 7:00 p.m., a vehicle was burglarized in the parking lot of Serramonte Shopping Center across from the Elephant Bar restaurant. The loss was a gym bag containing boxing equipment and miscellaneous personal items. At approximately 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, , Officer Karen Douglas stopped a subject who was carrying a flashlight and making jerking movements while walking in the parking lot of Ross on Gellert Boulevard. Officer Douglas determined the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject, a 22-year old Pacifica resident, admitted to using methamphetamine and being addicted to Oxycodone. He also admitted he broke into two vehicles in the Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot. Officer Douglas placed the subject under arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and for burglary. The victim s property was recovered. Robberies There were two robberies and one attempted robbery during the past week. On Monday, at 10:22 p.m., Officer Angelo Hamilton was dispatched to the KFC on Geneva Avenue on a report of a robbery. The suspect was last seen running westbound on Geneva Avenue. The supervisor said when she and others were getting ready to close, she was approached by a black male adult, approximately 5 9, wearing a black beanie, black face mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and light shoes who grabbed her by the back of her head (hair) and told her to give him all the money she was counting. The victim told the suspect to go to the next register drawer and take the money. As the suspect was attempting to take money from the cash drawer, the drawer fell to the ground and money was strewn all over the floor. The victim said the suspect took only some of the money before fleeing out the side door. Employees tried to give chase to the suspect but were unable to catch him. The victim did not need medical attention. This investigation is continued. On Friday, at 8:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Callan Boulevard and Southgate Avenue on a report of a possible robbery. The victim, a 57-year old South San Francisco resident, said she was walking in the area when she was grabbed from behind by two unknown males who pulled her purse from her right shoulder, causing her shirt to tear and her to fall to the ground. The victim said she could not identify the suspects. The loss was a purse containing miscellaneous identification cards and currency. The victim suffered from a bump to the back of her head and a complaint of pain to her back. This case is suspended. On Saturday, at 1:55 p.m., a check cashing business on San Pedro Road was the victim of an attempted robbery by an unknown subject. The subject tried to pass a note demanding cash to the teller. The teller did not give the subject the money, noticed the side door was slightly open and then closed it. The teller said as she secured the door, the suspect walked over and attempted to get inside by kicking the door. The teller called for help, and the suspect ran away, getting into a tan-colored vehicle and leaving the parking lot. The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, skinny build, years old, approximately 6 tall, wearing a dark colored tee shirt, tan pants and a black and white bandana over his face.

3 Residential Burglaries There were two residential burglaries during the past week. On Friday, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., an apartment on the 100 block of Coronado Avenue was burglarized. Entry was made through a rear sliding glass door. The loss was various clothing items, currency and jewelry. On Sunday, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., a residence on the 100 block of Niantic Avenue was burglarized. An unknown subject entered the residence via a rear window and took currency and jewelry. Commercial Burglaries There were two commercial burglaries during the past week. On an unknown date prior to Friday, at 6:00 p.m., an unknown subject burglarized Westlake Joe s restaurant by forcing entry into the building. The investigation is continuing. On Saturday, at 7:00 p.m., two male subjects cut security devices from three cell phones at Verizon Wireless at the Westlake Shopping Center and fled the store. This investigation is continuing. Vehicle Burglaries There were four vehicle burglaries during the past week. An arrest was made for one burglary. 100 block of Palmcrest Drive sweatpants were taken from a 1993 Dodge Shadow. The passenger window was smashed. Occurred on at 2:00 a.m. **On-line report. Thornton Beach parking lot two bags containing passports, credit cards, debit cards, clothes, a Samsung tablet and an underwater camera were taken from a 2014 Chevrolet Spark. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 12:10 p.m. and 12:20 p.m. Koi Palace parking lot a backpack containing a digital camera and passports was taken from a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The rear passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near the Elephant Bar Restaurant a gym bag containing miscellaneous boxing equipment and personal items was taken from a 1989 BMW E30. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on at 7:00 p.m. **An arrest was made in this case. Stolen Vehicles There were six vehicles stolen during the past week. Two were recovered. Two subjects were arrested in one case. Oliver Street/Frankfort Street a 1990 Honda Accord. Occurred between 10:30 a.m. on and 7:00 a.m. on **Two subjects were arrested in Fremont on , and the vehicle was recovered.

4 100 block of Gambetta Street a 1987 Buick Grand Nation. Occurred between 10:00 p.m. on and 8:20 a.m. on Unit block of Terrace View Court a 1987 Honda Accord. Occurred on between 2:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Unit block of Risel Avenue a 1994 Honda Accord. Occurred on between 12:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. **Recovered in San Francisco on Parking lot of Davita Dialysis on Southgate Avenue a 2007 Dodge Caravan. Occurred on between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Unit block of Clearview Drive a 1994 Ford Expedition. Occurred on between 10:30 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. Scams/Other Nothing to report.
