On Saturday, at 1:55 a.m., Officer Gary Thompson was dispatched to the 300 block of Eastmoor Avenue on a report of a vehicle that collided into parked vehicles. The driver, a 30-year old South San Francisco resident, was deemed to be under the influence and was arrested. His passenger, a 32-year old Daly City resident, sustained a large cut to the top of his head and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for his injuries. On Sunday, at 6:22 a.m., Officer Karen Douglas stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation near the Westlake Shopping Center. Officer Douglas smelled an odor of marijuana from the vehicle. When the officer questioned the driver if he had any additional marijuana in the vehicle, the driver said he had some. A search of the vehicle revealed the 33-year old Daly City resident had more than some, and he was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and for possession of concentrated cannabis. On Sunday, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Officer Lee Aquila and Officer Rodney Chittenden were dispatched to the 400 block of Allan Street on a report of an attempted burglary in progress. A security guard saw on a surveillance camera a subject who was trying to break into a body shop by using bolt cutters to cut a lock. The reporting party said the subject then left the scene in a silver BMW. Officer Keith Mattos located the vehicle in the area, and the driver matched the description given by the reporting party. In searching the subject s vehicle, heroin, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools were found inside the vehicle. The subject, a 41-year old Oakland resident, was arrested for attempted burglary, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and for possession of burglary tools. On Monday, at 4:12 p.m., Officer Lucas Taylor stopped a vehicle in the area of Callan Boulevard and King Drive. There were two occupants in the vehicle, and a records check

2 revealed both parties had previous contact for drug violations. Officer Taylor asked the driver, a 43-year old Daly City resident, to step on the sidewalk to speak with him, and after the officer asked, the subject agreed to allow the officer to search him. No contraband was found. Officer Taylor asked the same of the passenger, a 32-year old Daly City resident, and she agreed. No contraband was found on her. Officer Taylor s K-9, Odin, a certified narcotics detection dog, sniffed the vehicle, and he alerted the officer to a purse on the floorboard. The passenger advised it was her purse. Inside this purse were eight small baggies, one of which contained suspected methamphetamine, and a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. The female sub was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. On Tuesday, at 3:31 a.m., Officer Garrett Larsen was dispatched to the 1900 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard on a report of a stolen vehicle that had just occurred. The vehicle is owned by an industrial cleaning company who cleans the movie theater, and the reporting party was in the theater cleaning at the time. Officer Ed Gregorio was responding to the theater when he passed by the van near Mission Street and Geneva Avenue. Officer Gregorio attempted to pull over the vehicle, and a pursuit entailed. The subject bailed out of the van, and a foot chase led to the ultimate apprehension by Officer Peter Skeehan. The subject, an 18-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. On Friday, at 8:06 p.m., Officer Angelo Hamilton was on patrol in the Serramonte Shopping Center looking for vehicle burglars. Officer Hamilton saw a suspicious vehicle, and when he conducted a records check of the license plate, it revealed the registered owner had a $200,000 warrant for his arrest. The vehicle was leaving the lot, and the officer was behind the vehicle without his emergency lights or siren activated. The officer noticed the driver was driving erratically and dangerously around other vehicles, and as he tried to stop the vehicle, the officer saw that the driver nearly ran over two pedestrians. The driver of the vehicle continued to drive recklessly and attempted to exit the Target parking lot. Officer Kenneth Kim was able to assist in stopping the suspect vehicle. Witnesses had advised the officers that they saw a gun being thrown out of the vehicle. The subjects, both 21 from Antioch and San Pablo, were subsequently arrested for reckless driving, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm/prior felon. Thanks to Officer Hamilton s keen eye, a gun not registered to anyone has been taken off the streets. Robberies There were three robberies and one attempted robbery during the past two weeks. On Monday, at 7:50 p.m., a 22-year old Daly City resident said he was the victim of a strong armed robbery via punch to the face by a subject who took his iphone. This occurred at the bus stop on the unit block of Park Plaza Drive. The victim said a male subject asked him if he could use his phone for a quick second, and the victim allowed him to do so. The subject then placed his phone in his pocket. The victim took a fighter s stance, and the subject punched him in the face. The victim described the subject as a white male in his 20 s, 5 9, average build, light brown hair, wearing a brown beanie and a gray or beige jacket and pants. The victim sustained a small cut to his upper eyelid and bruising to his eye. This case is under investigation. On Tuesday, at 11:50 a.m., an employee at Infinitel Communications Inc. on Gellert Boulevard was the victim of an attempted robbery via simulated handgun by an unknown suspect. The 59-year old victim said a suspicious male had walked into the store and asked about an iphone and Samsung Galaxy 5 phone, while pretending to cough through a mask. The victim explained they didn t have any phones in the store. The victim said the suspect then asked to buy a phone charger. When the victim walked to the display case, she said she felt a hard object pressing against the right side of her waist, and the suspect saying, Get to the back of the store. The victim felt scared and then ran out of the store. This case has been suspended.

3 On Thursday, at 7:55 p.m., a 27-year old Daly City resident reported he was the victim of a strong armed robbery by a subject who pushed him and then ran. This occurred on the east side of Macy s at Serramonte Shopping Center. The loss was a pair of Nike Jordan shoes. The suspect was described as a black male adult, white tee shirt, black shorts and a black baseball cap. The victim was unharmed. A suspect has been identified, and investigators are working on this case. On Sunday, at 7:00 p.m., a 20-year old Daly City resident said he was the victim of a strong armed robbery via punches to the chest and back by two subjects. This occurred in the parking lot of the 7/11 on Gellert Boulevard. The loss was a Samsung cell phone. The victim explained he used Craig s list to sell his phone to a subject. The subject, described as a Hispanic male between years old, took the phone and then went off running. The victim chased the suspect, and then the suspect punched the victim. Another subject got out of a nearby vehicle and also punched the victim. The subjects fled in a gold Kia with paper license plates. The victim suffered a minor cut to his hand but did not need medical attention. This case is under investigation. Residential Burglaries There three residential burglaries during the past two weeks. On Monday, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., an apartment or the 400 block of Palmcrest Drive was burglarized. An unknown suspect entered the apartment through an open front window and took miscellaneous jewelry and a Samsung cell phone. On Monday, between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., a residence on the 400 block of Niantic Avenue was burglarized. An unknown suspect entered via prying open the front door of the residence. The loss was cash, a laptop, jewelry and other items yet to be reported. On Wednesday, between 10:30 a.m. and 10:40 p.m., a residence on the 100 block of Fairlawn Avenue was burglarized. A suspect described as a Filipino male, 20 years, 6 0, 180 pounds, medium build, black hair, brown eyes wearing a green hoodie with yellow lettering on the front, pushed the rear side door leading from the attached garage to the backyard. An audible alarm sounded, and the suspect did not enter the residence. Commercial Burglaries There was one commercial burglary during the past two weeks. On Wednesday, at 2:52 p.m., the Clear Vision Eye Store on Mission Street was the victim of a commercial burglary by four unknown subjects who entered the open business and stole approximately 30 pairs of glasses. They were last seen leaving the area in a gray passenger car. This investigation is continuing. Vehicle Burglaries There were nine vehicle burglaries during the past two weeks.

4 Serramonte Shopping Center near JC Penney a day pack containing ear phones was taken from a 2008 Chrysler 300. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 11:00 a.m. and 12:46 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center near Macy s a Samsung tablet was taken from a 2009 Honda Odyssey. The rear passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 11:30 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center near Target a CPAP device (recovered nearby) was taken from a 2008 Ford Expedition. The rear cargo window was smashed. Occurred on between 11:55 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center near Macy s a wallet, cash, credit cards, clothing and miscellaneous paperwork was taken from a 2012 Honda Civic. The passenger was smashed. Occurred on between 6:30 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. Koi Palace parking lot (rear) electronics, cosmetics, toys and money was taken from a 2014 Toyota Yaris. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:40 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center near JC Penney a purse and scarves taken from a 2014 Acura RDX. The left front window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:30 p.m. and 9:59 p.m. Philip Drive condo complex unknown property was taken from a 2001 Lexus RX-300. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 3:15 p.m. on and 1:15 p.m. on **On-line report. 300 block of North Parkview Avenue coins and an ash tray taken from a 2014 Nissan 200SX. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 3:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. **On-line report. 24 Hour Fitness parking lot a purse containing a driver s license, checkbook and other miscellaneous property was taken from a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. Occurred on between 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Stolen Vehicles There were six stolen vehicles in the last two weeks. Three were recovered. Santa Barbara Avenue/Vista Grande Avenue a 1997 Honda Accord. Occurred on between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on block of Mandarin Drive a 2014 Audi Q5. Occurred between 4:30 p.m. on and 5:56 p.m. on South Hill Boulevard/Crocker Avenue a 1988 Toyota Camry. Occurred between 5:00 p.m. on and 8:00 a.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on Junipero Serra Boulevard a 2007 Chevrolet van. Occurred on at 3:25 a.m. **Arrest made by DCPD shortly after. 600 block of Sylvan Street a 1995 Honda Prelude. Occurred between 8:50 p.m. on and 1:00 a.m. on block of Bellevue Avenue a 1995 Ford Escort. Occurred on between 7:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Scams/Other None to report.

Free Football Skills Camp & BBQ, Saturday, July 12, 2014 The Daly City PAL and Sport Tech Inc. Stars football would like to give children between the ages of 6-13 an opportunity to participate in their football camp on Saturday, July 12, 2014 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Westmoor High School. The camp is designed for children who are interested in receiving football instruction for a day from experienced high school coaches and players, as well as former NCAA athletes. This day will give children the chance to develop football skills for the upcoming youth flag and tackle season. Children will learn the proper techniques of football, at the same time learning how to build with others in the community. This free camp is allowed a maximum of 100 participants.
