Notable Cases On Monday, at 7:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the roof parking structure of the Westlake Shopping Center on a report of a subject refusing to leave. The reporting party said the subject appeared to be under the influence and was taking off his clothes. As officers arrived, they saw a subject matching the description who appeared to be under the influence. The subject, a 30-year old Daly City resident, consented to being searched, and officers found methamphetamine and a used pipe in his pockets. The officer also noticed that a fluorescent light fixture inside the stairwell was completely burned. The subject was arrested for causing a fire to the fixture, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. On Wednesday, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the 200 block of Vista Grande Avenue on a report of a subject in violation of a restraining order. The reporting party said his brother was inside the residence, violating a restraining order he had against him. Officer Digiacomo saw the subject in front of the residence, and the subject spontaneously told the officer that he was trying to gather belongings from the residence because he was just served with a restraining order. Officer Digiacomo patted down the 46-year old subject and found an open pint bottle of vodka in his pants pocket, two 4.5 methamphetamine pipes from his other pants pocket and a glass container which had a green leafy-type substance consistent with marijuana. The subject told the officer he had a medical marijuana card in his wallet. As the officer continued to remove property from the subject s pockets, the officer found two clear plastic baggies containing a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine and also 12 white pills believed to be Vicodin inside a plastic piece of cellophane. The subject was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance, and for possession of drug paraphernalia. On Wednesday, at 3:14 p.m., Officer Perez was on patrol near Junipero Serra Boulevard and John Daly Boulevard and contacted a pedestrian fitting the description of a subject who was reported to be an aggressive pan handler that frequented the Westlake Shopping Center area. The

2 subject became angry with the officer and raised his arms and clenched his fists as he took two steps toward the officer. The subject was on probation, and Officer Perez asked him if he had anything illegal in his possession. The subject was uncooperative and hostile, and Officer Cabatic arrived to assist. The subject, a 35-year old Pacifica resident, was subsequently cited for being a felon in possession of tear gas. On Thursday, at 9:08 a.m., Officer Haas saw two parked vehicles each containing a sleeping subject at the end of Olympic Drive near Thornton Beach. The officer woke up one subject who provided him with a false government identification card. The subject, a 25-year old San Francisco resident, said he got the identification card in Mexico. He was subsequently cited for providing a false government identification card to a police officer. On Sunday, at 6:19 p.m., subsequent to a traffic stop on the unit block of Oceanside Drive, Officer Fulmore and Officer Collins arrested a 26-year old Daly City resident for being in possession of a stolen vehicle, receiving stolen property and misappropriation of lost property (a wallet). Robberies There were two robberies during the past week. On Monday, , a 15-year old Colma resident reported he bought a pair of Nike Jordan shoes at the mall and took the bus to the Colma BART station. The victim and his friend were walking on A Street towards Hillside Boulevard when they noticed a dark gray older model Lexus GS or ES traveling slowly on Hillside Boulevard and saw that the driver was staring at them. The victim and his friend then walked on Byrne Street and saw the vehicle behind them again. He said the vehicle drove onto the sidewalk near Policita School and blocked their path. The victim said he and his friend walked around and continued walking onto Abbot Street where they saw the same car park at the end of the street. As the victim and his friend passed the vehicle, the victim said two passengers exit the rear of the vehicle and walked up to them, and one subject quickly grabbed the victim s shopping bag. The victim attempted to hold onto the bag, and he said the shoebox fell onto the ground. The victim said one subject quickly picked up the box and got back into the vehicle. The victim could only describe the suspect as a white male, years old, approximately 6 2 to 6 5, stocky build, short blonde hair and wearing a black tee shirt. The victim described the second suspect as a white male, years old, approximately 5 9, skinny build, and wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled over his head. Because the victim waited to report this incident, officers were unable to locate anyone in the area. On Sunday, at 5:42 p.m., a Macy s loss prevention officer was the victim of a robbery by a suspect who shoved her when she tried to detain a suspect for shoplifting. The suspect, a 40-year old San Francisco resident, said to the loss prevention officer, Do you want to get shot? while being apprehended. The subject was arrested for robbery and for two outstanding warrants. Residential Burglaries There was one residential burglary during the past week. On Tuesday, between 3:55 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., a residence on the unit block of Fairway Drive was burglarized. A neighbor called saying he was walking his dog in the area saw four suspects running from the side of the vacant home and heard someone say, No one is in here. The lower half of the rear door was broken, and it is unknown if the subjects gained entry in the residence. The subjects were all described as black females between years old. This investigation is continuing.

3 Commercial Burglaries There was one commercial burglary during the past week. On Friday, at approximately 10:40 a.m., four unknown subjects stole 40 pairs of leggings from the Victoria s Secret store. This investigation is continuing. Vehicle Burglaries There were eight vehicle burglaries and one attempted vehicle burglary during the past week. Westlake Shopping Center parking lot (unknown location), a passport was taken from a 2013 Toyota Prius. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred sometime on **Online report made. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near JC Penney s nothing was taken from a 2017 Nissan Sentra (rental car). The right rear window was smashed and the rear bench seat was folded down to expose the trunk. Occurred on between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. 100 block of Wyandotte Avenue currency, shoes, a jacket and a backpack were taken from a 2016 Ford Fusion. The method of entry is unknown. This occurred twice once on and again between 4:20 p.m. on and 4:00 a.m. on **On-line report made. Hickey Boulevard near Innisfree Drive a metal clipboard, three screwdrivers and two tool kilts were taken from a 2017 Dodge Promaster van. The passenger window was smashed. Occurred between 4:00 p.m. on and 6:15 a.m. on Unit block of Jacqueline Court a jacket and prescription glasses was taken from a 2009 Honda Civic. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 4:25 p.m. and 7:25 p.m. **On-line report made. Celia s Restaurant parking lot luggage, clothing, a passport and a Go Pro were taken from a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. The rear cargo window was smashed. Occurred on at 2:20 p.m. Garage at 1850 Junipero Serra Boulevard (4 th floor) a backpack containing a laptop and passport was taken from a 2011 Nissan Rouge. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred between 11:00 p.m. on and 1:00 a.m. no Hour Fitness parking lot a Guess purse was taken from a 2016 Ford F150. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. 700 block of Southgate Avenue an attempted burglary to a 1992 Honda Civic. There were pry marks on the passenger door, but no entry was made. Occurred on between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Stolen Vehicles There were no vehicles stolen during the past week! Miscellaneous We responded to 10 domestic disturbance cases There were 8 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold There were 15 vandalism cases reported

4 Scams/Other I.R.S Scams I have been contacted by a couple of residents who said they have received messaged from someone claiming to work for the I.R.S. and that the resident owes back taxes or the resident would be arrested immediately. I think you all know by now that this is a scam, but I just wanted to remind you that this seems to be surfacing again. AT&T Internet Scam One resident advised me that he received an saying he received a call from someone saying he was from the AT&T Internet service and that he wanted to hook up the resident s computer to a remote computer so that he would repair what he claimed as a problem. Please DO NOT fall victim to this. Always contact your internet provider directly. If you did not call them, don t let them fool you! Community Events/Information Bocce Bash Tournament Thursday, July 27, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Come to the Doelger Senior Center to cheer for your favorite team Daly City P.D., Daly City F.D., Doelger Seniors or the S.I.R.S. as they compete for the championship.
