Notable Cases On Monday at approximately 12:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Mission Street and John Daly Boulevard on a report of a female being chased by a male. Officer Murillo arrived and found the subjects matching the description given to him by the dispatchers. The victim was extremely frantic and speaking rapidly. She said she had just run away from the subject who followed her and her boyfriend off of the muni bus. The 33-year old victim said the subject was seated behind them on the bus, and she saw the subject smoking what she thought was crack from a glass pipe. She said during the bus ride, the subject began whispering things to her and then yelled at them once they got off the bus. A witness saw the subject following the couple and phoned the police. The suspect, a 38-year old San Francisco resident, admitted to smoking methamphetamine a couple of hours before, and he was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. On Monday, at 2:30 p.m., Westmoor High School campus security advised that a 15-year old student was in possession of a BB gun. The student was released to his mother, and a complaint is sought for possession of a weapon on school grounds. On Wednesday, at 4:22 p.m., two 14-year old female Daly City residents flagged down an officer at Flyer s Gas station to tell him that a subject at the bus stop on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard had just made inappropriate comments and cat calls to the victims as they walked by him. The suspect, a 51-year old South San Francisco resident, was subsequently arrested for possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, burglary tools and for stolen property. On Wednesday, at approximately 9:02 p.m., officers were on patrol in the area of Geneva Avenue approaching Bayshore Boulevard when they saw a vehicle pass by their unmarked patrol car at a high rate of speed. The vehicle did not have any lights on, and the vehicle swerved in and out of lanes. The officers caught up to the vehicle at the intersection and saw the vehicle crash and two

2 male subjects run out of the vehicle. Officers chased the suspects and yelled for them to stop. One subject, a 12-year old Daly City resident, stopped running and complied. The subject s cell phone began ringing, and the subject said it was his brother who was calling him. The subject said he and his brother took their sister s car to go buy some chips and said a vehicle began to follow them. He said they were scared and drove fast to get away from the car. The subject said he tried to follow his brother over the fence but got stuck between the police car and the officer. The 12-year old subject was arrested for resisting a peace officer following a foot pursuit and was released to his father. A warrant is sought for his 18-year old brother for hit and run, resisting a peace officer, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and for child endangerment. Luckily no one was harmed in the crash. On Wednesday, at 11:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Target store on a report of two males purchasing over $4,600 worth of merchandise using a credit card that did not belong to them. The manager saw the clerk ringing up expensive items and came over to see what the clerk was doing. The clerk asked one of the males how he was going to pay for the transaction, and the male initially pulled out a wad of money but then decided to use a credit card. The clerk asked if the credit card belonged to him, and the subject said it belonged to his girlfriend. When he was questioned about how to spell his girlfriend s name, the subject spelled the name incorrectly. The manager called the police without the subject s knowledge and said the subject started visibly shaking and became argumentative, asking why he was being hassled. Officers arrested the subject, a 43-year old San Francisco resident for commercial burglary, use of access cards without consent, conspiracy, and for possession of stolen property. The other subject, a 39-year old San Francisco resident, was arrested for conspiracy and for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from San Francisco for theft. On Thursday, at approximately 11:20 p.m. the Westlake Village apartments was the victim of arson when the third floor elevator was set on fire by an unknown suspect. This occurred at 25 Poncetta Drive. The fire department extinguished the fire, and they are investigating this. On Saturday, at 9:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to the McDonald s restaurant on Geneva Avenue on a report of an intoxicated subject sleeping inside the restaurant. When the employees asked the subject to leave, they said the subject yelled at them. Officers placed the subject, a 51-year old San Francisco resident, under arrest for public intoxication. On Sunday, at 9:53 p.m., Officer Lickness and Officer Shoopman conducted a traffic stop at Geneva Avenue near Santos Street. The officers contacted the solo occupant of the vehicle and immediately smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana. When Officer Lickness asked the driver how much marijuana he had in the vehicle, he said the driver started to sweat. The driver responded by picking up an ashtray and showed the remnants of the marijuana. Officer Lickness asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, and he said the subject began looking around nervously inside of his vehicle before reluctantly exiting the vehicle. Officer Lickness asked the subject if he had a firearm inside of the vehicle, and the subject said he did, but that it wasn t his. Other officers responded to assist, and they recovered a.9 mm gun on the floorboard. Officer Shoopman conducted a search incident to arrest of the subject, and he found a pill container with baggies containing a white powdery substance, as well as a large amount of cash on the subject. The officers determined the subject was selling narcotics. The subject, a 29-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance while armed, being a prohibited person while in possession of a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, carrying an unregistered loaded firearm, and for carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. Robberies There were no robberies during the past week.

3 Residential Burglaries There was one residential burglary during the past week. On Monday, between 9:20 a.m. and 10:05 a.m., a residence on the 1000 block of Skyline Drive was burglarized by an unknown suspect who forced entry to the rear door. The suspect(s) took a HP laptop, costume jewelry, a jewelry box, and a wallet containing cash and multiple credit cards. Commercial Burglaries There was one commercial burglary during the past week. Between Friday, at 6:30 p.m. and Monday, at 10:20 a.m., an office at 355 Gellert Boulevard was burglarized by an unknown suspect who pried the front door to gain entry. The loss was a MacBook Pro and a set of keys. Vehicle Burglaries There were six vehicle burglaries during the past week. Unit block of Kent Court two large bags containing Snap on Tools were taken from the third seat of a 2004 Infinity QX56. The victim placed a blanket over the bags in order to conceal them. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. 1 st Avenue/Castle Street three bags containing clothing and miscellaneous documents were taken from a 2017 Ford Transit. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 1:10 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The property was later recovered at Hillside Park. IHOP parking lot an empty computer bag was taken from a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. (a rental car) The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Luckily the victim brought his laptop in the restaurant with him. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot #A5 a backpack containing schoolbooks was taken from a 2012 Hyundai Accent. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 5:45 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. In N Out parking lot on Washington Street three handbags, a wallet, and a passport were taken from a 2016 Toyota Sienna. An unknown window was smashed. Occurred on at approximately 3:30 p.m. Planet Fitness parking lot (rear) a wallet containing identification, cash, and credit cards was taken from the glovebox of a 1997 Honda Accord. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 11:00 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. Stolen Vehicles There were three vehicles stolen during the past week. Two were recovered block of Geneva Avenue a 2005 GMC Silverado. Occurred on between 7:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on block of 1 st Avenue a 1995 Dodge Dakota. Occurred between 8:30 p.m. on and 6:30 a.m. on **Recovered by the Stanislaus County S.O. on Lakeshire Drive/Santa Rita Avenue a 2016 Jeep Patriot. Occurred between 7:00 p.m. on and 9:00 p.m. on
