Notable Cases On Monday, at 12:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Campus Drive on a report of a male subject with a gun or knife who was running after a female. Multiple officers responded and saw the subject jumping fences at the rear of homes on the 800 block of St. Francis Boulevard. Officers were to locate the subject on a hilly area. The suspect was shot in the arm by the officer after he refused to comply with the officer s commands. The victim, a 41-year old Daly City resident, said she used to be in a relationship with the suspect, a 38-year old Daly City parolee. The victim ended the relationship after he was incarcerated, and when he got out of jail, the suspect began threatening and stalking the victim. The victim said on this day, the suspect somehow entered her apartment and threatened her with a knife. The suspect was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and after three days at the hospital, he was booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, criminal threats, burglary, violation of parole, stalking, and possession of burglary tools. On Monday, at 7:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ross Store at the Westlake Shopping Center on a report of a theft of merchandise and a brandishing of a knife. The dispatchers advised that the suspect had cut the alarm sensors to approximately 4-5 purses and threatened store employees with a knife. The reporting party described the subject and the vehicle that was seen waiting for him. Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of Mission Street and School Street and contacted a female driver and a male passenger. After an investigation, officers arrested the passenger, a 28-year old Hayward resident, for armed robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime, commercial burglary, possession of burglary tools, and for possession of stolen property. The driver, a 21-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of stolen property and for driving on a suspended driver's license. On Monday, at approximately 11:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a justoccurred auto burglary in front of the Burgermeister restaurant at the Westlake Shopping Center. The victim gave a description of the subject, and officers located him at the BART station. When officers were apprehending the subject, the subject was actively resisting them. The officers found a concealed double edged dirk strapped around the subject s hands. The subject, a 19-year old Daly

2 City resident, was arrested for auto burglary, resisting arrest and for being in possession of a concealed dirk/dagger. On Wednesday, at 1:51 a.m., Officer Philip Wagnon was flagged down by a restaurant owner at the intersection of Crocker Street and Hanover Street who said two subjects left the restaurant without paying. The officer located the two subjects, and the subject who ordered the food became physically combative with the officer. The subject, a 26-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for defrauding an innkeeper and for resisting arrest. The officer was unharmed. On Thursday, at 4:15 a.m., a 31-year old San Francisco resident was arrested for evading a police officer, driving with a suspended driver's license, possession of marijuana while driving, and for a parole violation after leading officers on a short pursuit when officers attempted to conducted a traffic stop on the 6700 block of Mission Street. On Thursday, at 4:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Mayfair Avenue on a report of a male subject who was pacing up and down the street, yelling and slamming the backyard gate. The subject, a 22-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and for being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia. On Thursday, at 8:00 p.m., Officer Noah Serbin was on patrol in the area of Geneva Avenue and Acacia Street and conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle. The driver, a 35-year old San Francisco resident, said he never had a driver's license and was driving his friend s car. The driver opened the glove box, and the officer saw a stun gun in the glove box. The officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle and asked if he had any additional weapons or drugs on him. The driver allowed the officer to search him, and the officer found two large wads of money in the subject s pocket. The driver spontaneously stated it was for rent. In the vehicle, the officer found a clear plastic sandwich bag containing a large chunk of a compressed white powdery substance and also three prescription bottles not belonging to him. The officer arrested the subject for possession of a controlled substance for sales and for transportation of a controlled substance for sales. On Friday, , at approximately 11:15 p.m., Officer Noah Serbin conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Mission Street and Acton Street. When the driver was reaching for his identification, he removed a butane lighter/torch from his pocket. Officer Serbin knew this item was most commonly used to heat crystal methamphetamine. When the officer asked the subject what he used it for, the subject did not reply. The officer asked the subject if had anything illegal in his vehicle, and the subject said he didn t and declined permission to search the vehicle. At that time, Officer Taylor who was the cover officer, had his K-9 partner with him. The K-9 is certified to detect drugs and alerted the officer to the trunk of the vehicle. In the trunk was suspected methamphetamine, Xanax, a large amount of plastic baggies, a digital scale, concentrated cannabis and a collapsible baton. The subject, a 40-year old San Francisco resident, was arrested for transporting a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance for sale, possession of concentrated cannabis, possession of marijuana, and possession of a dangerous weapon. On Saturday, at approximately 5:08 p.m., Officer Benjamin Riney conducted a pedestrian stop of a subject who was standing outside of a room for 15 minutes in front of the Mylo Hotel on Geneva Avenue. The officer searched the subject and found methamphetamine in his pocket. The subject said he didn t use the methamphetamine. The officer asked the subject he would allow him to search his room, and the subject consented. The subject shared the room with a friend. A consent search of the room led to the arrest of the suspect s friend, a 36-year old South San Francisco resident, for residential burglary (of a residence in Daly City), possession of stolen property, and for possession of a controlled substance. The first suspect, a 46-year old San Francisco resident, was cited for possession of methamphetamine. On Saturday, at 6:35 p.m., Officer Lucas Taylor saw a vehicle driving with no headlights on in the area of Schwerin Street and Macdonald Avenue. When the officer pulled over the subject, the subject got out of the car and started running and attempted to jump over a fence on Kelloch Avenue. As Officer Taylor pulled the subject off the fence, the subject used his fist to swing at the officer and missed him. The subject then got up and ran from the officer. The subject, a 45-year old transient, was

3 arrested for assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest and for being under the influence of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Robberies There were two robberies during the past week. On Monday, at 7:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ross Store at Westlake Shopping Center on a report of a theft of merchandise and a brandishing of a knife. The suspect had cut the alarm sensors to approximately 4-5 purses and threatened store employees with a knife. The suspect was later arrested. (See Notable Reports ) On Sunday, at 5:30 a.m., a 17-year old San Francisco resident said she was robbed of her purse by her friend, a 16-year old Daly City resident. This occurred in a parking lot on the unit block of Midway Drive. This investigation is continuing. Residential Burglaries There were four residential burglaries during the past week. Between Tuesday, at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, at 2:00 a.m., a residence on the unit block of Flournoy Street was burglarized. The method of entry is unknown. The loss was an ipad, miscellaneous identification cards and cash. On Wednesday, at 11:50 a.m., a residence on the 400 block of Bonnie Street was burglarized. The unknown suspect(s) forced open the rear door and set off the alarm. Nothing was taken. Officers attempted to search the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful. On Thursday, at 10:10 p.m., a residence on the unit block of Morton Drive was burglarized by two subjects who entered the open garage door and took miscellaneous items. The victim was able to obtain video footage of the suspect, and two subjects, a 17-year old male from Daly City and a 21- year old female from Pacifica, were arrested a few days later. Between Saturday, at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, at 9:00 a.m., a residence on the unit block of Camelot Court was burglarized by an unknown suspect who pried the rear sliding glass door. There was no loss. Commercial Burglaries There were no commercial burglaries during the past week. Vehicle Burglaries There were 15 vehicle burglaries during the past week and one attempted burglary. Lucky s parking lot a backpack containing a lunch box was taken from a 2003 Honda Acord. The right front window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:00 a.m. and 5:27 p.m. Westlake Shopping Center tools were taken from a 2008 International. Occurred on at 11:47 p.m. A subject was arrested th Street (parking garage) nothing was taken from a 2016 Subaru Forester. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 7:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.

4 200 block of Southgate Avenue a backpack containing $100 was taken from the front passenger seat of a 2015 Honda Civic. Occurred on between 6:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. Unit block of Crestview Avenue a backpack containing a laptop was taken from the backseat of a 2010 Mazda 3. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on and 7:14 a.m. on Campus Drive (parking garage) Ray Ban glasses and a wallet was taken from a 2012 Ford Focus. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on and 7:45 a.m. on **On-line report. Hillside Boulevard/Gambetta Street unknown if anything was taken from a 2010 Nissan Frontier. The right front window was smashed. Occurred on at 3:00 p.m. Westlake Park (parking lot) nothing was taken from a 2009 Toyota Matrix. The rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 6:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Westlake Park (parking lot) a bag was taken from the rear passenger seat of a 2001 Acura MDX. The left front window was smashed. Occurred on by 6:45 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. 15 Poncetta Drive (parking garage) approximately $200-$300 was taken from the center console of a 2014 Maserati Ghibli. The passenger door was pried. Occurred on between 11:00 p.m. and at 10:30 a.m. Unit block of Cliffside Drive unknown if any property was taken from a 2015 Subaru Outback. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on and 12:30 a.m. on **On-line report. 900 block of Skyline Drive a wallet and driver's license was taken from the center console, and a stereo was taken from a 2001 Ford F150. The passenger door lock was punched. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on and 6:00 a.m. on Unit block of Penhurst Avenue an ipod touch and miscellaneous change was taken from a 2007 Toyota Prius. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on at an unknown time. **On-line report. Mission Plaza near Pet Food Express. A purse containing a phone and credit cards was taken from a 2011 Toyota RAV4. The right front window was smashed. Occurred on between 4:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. 88 Hillside Boulevard (parking garage) an insurance card was taken from a 2002 Mercedes Benz ML320. The left rear wing window was smashed. Occurred between 11:45 a.m. on and 8:08 p.m. on Unit block of Lakeview Drive an attempt was made to burglarize a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. Occurred between 8:00 a.m. on and 5:00 a.m. on Stolen Vehicles There were six vehicles stolen during the past week. All of them were recovered. 500 block of Price Street a 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Occurred on between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on block of Harbor Drive a 1995 Honda Accord. Occurred on between 8:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. **Recovered by San Bruno P.D. on block of Linda Vista Drive a 1990 Toyota Camry. Occurred on at 7:56 p.m. **Recovered by Oakland P.D. on Unit block of Poncetta Drive a 2007 Toyota Prius. Occurred on between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. **The vehicle was later returned to the same place on block of Alta Vista Way a 2013 Acura MDX.
