Notable Cases On Tuesday, at 1:15 p.m., a reporting party called saying he saw a 3 or 4 year old juvenile female walking by herself near King Drive/Callan Boulevard. Officers found the child who didn t speak. Child Protective Services (CPS) responded to the station, and about three hours later, the father, a 23-year old South San Francisco resident, called looking for his daughter. Officers, along with the South San Francisco Police and a CPS worker, responded to the subject s residence to assess the family/home situation. CPS deemed the child should be returned to the parents. On Thursday, at 5:42 p.m., Officer Bryce Lickness and Officer Tony Baroni were dispatched to the Bank of America on Mission Street on a report of a male subject undressing himself in the parking lot. The officers were redirected to Santa Barbara Avenue where the subject was last seen walking. Officers found the subject at Westlake Avenue near Woodrow Street and asked him if he was at the bank parking lot. The subject was on probation for drug possession, and one of the terms of his probation included that he was subject to search and seizure. Officer Lickness noticed the subject s hands twitched rapidly, and he appeared to be increasingly nervous. The officer asked the subject if he used methamphetamine recently, and the subject advised he had used it earlier in the day. The officer found three empty syringes and methamphetamine in the subject s shirt pocket. The officer also found more empty syringes in the subject s backpack. The subject, a 37-year old transient, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. On Friday, at 1:09 a.m., Officer Jaime Bermudez and Officer Bonnie Shiu were working as a two-officer patrol unit and conducted a traffic stop at East Market Street and Hillside Boulevard on a vehicle which ended up being from Berkeley. The driver, a 36-year old Berkeley resident, was on probation for vehicle theft. In the ignition was a shaved key, commonly used to steal vehicles. In the subject s backpack was a glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine. The subject admitted to using methamphetamine a couple of hours prior. The subject was arrested for

2 vehicle theft with priors, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a burglary tool, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. On Friday, at 9:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to Seton Hospital on a report of a combative patient. Officers arrived to see a 15-year old male being restrained by another male and the subject yelling racial slurs and struggling to free himself. The nurse advised that the 15- year old had been taking Xanax pills and was drinking on a bus. A passerby saw that the subject was too intoxicated to take care of himself and called for an ambulance. The subject was eventually arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, being intoxicated in public, resisting arrest, adult offense committed by a juvenile and for possession of burglary tools. (He had a punch in his pocket.) On Saturday, at 1:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mussel Rock on a report of a found U.S. Navy flare. The volunteer beach cleaning crew had found it on Thornton Beach but decided to take it with them to Mussel Rock before calling the police. The 2½ x 5 diameter canister had Do not handle contains Phosphorus. May cause serious burns. Notify Police or Military printed on the side. The people from the Mussel Rock parking lot area were evacuated, and the San Mateo County Bomb Squad was notified. The Bomb Squad examined the flare and determined that it was expended, and there was no safety risk. Robberies There was one robbery during the past week. On Friday, at 11:00 a.m., a subject, described as a Hispanic or light skinned African American male subject in his 30 s wearing a green hooded sweatshirt walked into the Walgreen s store on San Pedro Road, pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk gave the subject money, and the subject was last seen walking westbound on San Pedro Road. The clerk was unharmed. Detectives are working on leads, and here are a couple of photos of the suspect. **If you recognize him, please call us!!

3 Residential Burglaries There was one residential burglary and two attempted residential burglaries during the past week. On Monday, between 2:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., a residence on the unit block of Morton Drive was burglarized. An unknown subject entered the residence by smashing a lower unit window. The loss was currency. On Thursday, between 9:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., an unknown subject attempted to pry open the front door of an apartment on the unit block of Coronado Avenue. No entry was made. On Sunday, at approximately 11:58 a.m., an unknown suspect attempted to open the rear sliding glass door to a residence on the unit block of Portola Avenue. The alarm sounded, and no entry was made. Commercial Burglaries There were two commercial burglaries and one attempted commercial burglary during the past week. On Wednesday, at 1:31 a.m., the Lucky Bakery and Café on Geneva Avenue was burglarized by an unknown subject who smashed the front glass door and stole a television, desktop computer and ipad. This investigation is continuing. Between Saturday, at 11:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m., an unknown subject forcibly entered a storage unit at the Public Storage facility on King Drive and stole bags of property. This investigation is continuing. Between Monday, at 12:00 p.m. and Thursday, at 9:30 a.m., an unknown subject attempted to burglarize a storage unit at the Public Storage facility on King Drive. No property was missing. Vehicle Burglaries There were five vehicle burglaries during the past week. Koi Palace parking lot a backpack containing miscellaneous clothing, shoes and earbuds was taken from the rear storage compartment of a 2014 Mercedes GL450. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:00 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. 100 block of Avalon Drive sunglasses, a coin purse, and a towel were taken from a 2012 Toyota Corolla. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. 100 block of Santa Barbara Avenue a cell phone case, credit cards, cell phone, calculator, sunglasses and a wallet was taken from a 2014 Ford Explorer. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 4:00 p.m. on and 5:00 a.m. on **Some of the items were located nearby. Norcal Veterinary Emergency parking lot a computer bag containing a laptop, and a purse containing cash, credit cards and an iphone was taken from a 2015 Ford Escape. The front and rear passenger windows were smashed. Occurred on between 1:45 p.m. and 2:05 p.m block of Brunswick Street a backpack containing paperwork was taken from a 2015 Toyota Prius. The rear windshield was smashed. Occurred on between 4:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

4 Stolen Vehicles There were six vehicles stolen during the past week. There were recovered. 500 block of Clarinada Drive a 1999 Honda Civic. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on and midnight on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on block of Hillside Boulevard a 2013 Yamaha R1. Occurred between 10:30 p.m. on and 5:00 a.m. on block of Serramonte Boulevard a 1996 Honda Civic. Occurred on between midnight and 8:00 a.m. Safeway parking lot a 2014 Honda CRV. Occurred on between 1:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. **Recovered by the CHP in San Francisco on San Diego Avenue/Hillcrest Drive a 2000 Honda Civic. Occurred between 4:00 p.m. on and 6:00 a.m. on **Recovered by the CHP in San Francisco on King Drive/Gellert Boulevard a 1991 Honda Accord. Occurred between 2:00 p.m. on and 12:00 a.m. on Scams/Other Nothing to report.
