Notable Cases On Monday, at 8:58 a.m., Officer Sabins and Officer Gregorio were dispatched to the area of Geneva Avenue and Santos Street on a report of a fire to a pole. The Fire Department was on scene and requested officers to respond as a transient subject started a small trash fire. A reporting party on scene pointed to a female subject in a vehicle who started the fire. When officers attempted to speak to the subject, the officers said the subject refused to exit the vehicle. The 41-year old subject was subsequently arrested for battery on a peace officer via spitting and kicking at Officer Gregorio and for obstructing/resisting a peace officer. The subject was initially placed on a hold for being a danger to herself/others, and once she was medically cleared, she was booked into jail. On Monday, at 2:00 p.m., a 70-year old Daly City resident was arrested for driving under the influence after he was involved in a collision with a parked vehicle. This occurred on Mission Street near Gambetta Avenue. On Wednesday, at 7:19 a.m., Officer Ortiz conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Castle Street and Abbot Avenue. The dispatcher advised Officer Ortiz that the license plate did not match the vehicle. The officer asked the driver why he had a license plate of another car affixed to his vehicle, and the driver told the officer he bought the license plate from the registered owner and that the owner s vehicle was not running. The officer asked the subject what the owner s name was, and the subject didn t know. The driver, a 33-year old Daly City resident, had a suspended driver's license. The officer called the registered owner of the license plate, and the owner said the license plate was

2 taken without his knowledge. The subject was arrested for receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended driver's license and for having false vehicle registration. On Thursday, at 6:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 88 th Street and Sullivan Avenue on the report of a man running naked in the street. The reporting party said his roommate was off his medication. The officers found the subject performing jumping jacks in the McDonald s restaurant. The 35-year old subject was placed on a hold for being a danger to himself. On Thursday, at 8:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to Thornton High School on a report of two male juveniles wearing black hoodies and backpacks who were climbing over the fence onto school property. Officers arrived near two white vans and they smelled an odor of marijuana. When they neared the vans, the officers noticed a door slightly ajar and saw two subjects inside the van. They officers ordered the subjects to exit the van. One subject, a 15-year old Colma resident, was arrested for trespassing, vandalism, and committing an adult offense as a juvenile. The other subject, a 19-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for trespassing, vandalism, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. On Friday, at 7:30 a.m., several officers were dispatched to a residence on the unit block of Teresa Street on a report of a house that was fully engulfed in smoke. The reporting party, a 51-year old Daly City resident, was under the influence of methamphetamine, and there was no merit to a fire. The reporting party was cited for being under the influence of a controlled substance. On Friday, at 9:00 a.m., officers arrested a 30-year old transient subject for being under the influence of a controlled substance (heroin) and for providing false identification to a police officer. This occurred after Officer Hyink and Officer Haas were dispatched to the 200 block of South Mayfair Avenue on the report of two subjects using needles while sitting on a bench. On Saturday, at approximately 7:09 p.m., a 73-year old Daly City resident was the victim of fraud via unauthorized credit purchases by a 25-year old transient subject. This occurred at the Ross at the Westlake Shopping Center. The subject was arrested for that, as well as giving false information to a peace officer and a warrant. When the officer asked the subject who gave him the credit cards he had in his possession, the subject told him he wanted his lawyer present. Additionally, a 60-year old Daly City resident reported that someone took money from her wallet while at the store. The subject who was arrested said that particular suspect ran past him in the store. On Saturday, at 9:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call regarding 10 individuals pushing and yelling at each other in the street on the unit block of Hillcrest Drive. Subsequently, two subjects, 22 and 26-year old San Francisco residents, were arrested for obstructing/resisting a peace officer and for public intoxication. On Friday, at 10:32 a.m., Officer Haas was dispatched to the Dollar Tree on Geneva Avenue on a report of a subject in the parking lot who was yelling at customers walking into and coming out of the store. The subject was in the parking lot when contacted by Officer Haas and Officer Tashiro. The 45-year old subject was subsequently arrested for failure to register annually as a sex offender. On Friday, at approximately 11:29 a.m., officers arrested a 40-year old transient subject for public intoxication after they were dispatched to a report of a male subject stumbling around and yelling at customers inside the T-Mobile store at the Westlake Shopping Center. On Saturday, at approximately 3:40 a.m., a 28-year old Oakland resident was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after he hit a fire hydrant on the 2300 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard. Robberies There were four robberies and two attempted robberies during the past two weeks.

3 On Friday, at 8:25 p.m., Officer Cain was dispatched to the Burlington Coat Factory store on a report of a just-occurred robbery. The reporting party said a cashier was working at the register and rang up a purchase from a subject who handed her a $20 bill. The cashier said the subject then reached over the counter and grabbed a $50 from the register drawer. The subject also grabbed the $20 bill out of the cashier s hand and ran out of the store. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20 s with a skinny build, goatee, and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black pants and black/white shoes. This case is referred to investigators. On Saturday, at 9:05 p.m., Officer Lajoie was dispatched to a report of a robbery that occurred earlier in the evening. A 73-year old Daly City resident told the officer she went to the Patelco Credit Union on Southgate Avenue at 6:45 p.m., and approached the ATM. The victim noticed a male was standing and holding two receipts at the ATM. The subject stepped away from the ATM and told the victim to go ahead. The victim said as she was depositing her check, she noticed the male was standing close behind her. The victim said the subject then pushed her and grabbed her purse from her arm. The victim said she didn t fall, but she was unable to hold onto her purse. The victim said the suspect then ran westbound on Southgate Avenue towards Palmcrest Drive. The victim described the suspect as a black male, early 20 s, medium complexion, wearing a white shirt, and gray or black pants. Inside the purse was a wallet containing credit cards, a California driver's license and an iphone. On Monday, at 1:42 a.m., Officer Clinkscales was dispatched on a report of a subject who said he was robbed by two males at gun point. The victim, a 38-year old Daly City resident, said he had left the BART station and was walking on the John Daly Boulevard overpass when he said two men exited a vehicle, described as a newer Cherry red Honda CRV. The victim said as the men approached him, one of them lifted up his sweatshirt and exposed a large handgun in the subject s waistline. The victim said the subject then told him to give him everything he had. The victim gave the subjects a backpack containing two shirts, a cell phone and $60. The victim said the first suspect was a Hispanic or Filipino male, 5 8, 170 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black hat. The second suspect was described as an unknown race male, 5 3, unknown weight, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants. The victim said the subjects were dropped off from the vehicle and ran away after taking the backpack. The victim was unharmed. On Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Metro PCS store on Mission Street on a report of a just-occurred robbery. The store employees reported that a subject, described as a black male, 25 years, 6 0, 180 lbs., wearing a black hoodie and a blue wrestling mask came into the store, walked to the back of the store, produced a fake gun from a bag and demanded them to give him miscellaneous cell phones. This case is assigned to investigators. On Wednesday, at 5:25 p.m., three Daly City residents were victims of an attempted robbery and attempted burglary by three suspects who had cased their residences and attempted to enter them. This occurred on the 500 block of Alexis Circle. The three suspects, one 18-year old and two 20-year old San Francisco residents, were later arrested in San Francisco and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary and for possession of burglary tools. On Friday, at 10:36 a.m., Officer Hyink and Officer Mahan were dispatched to a report of a fight between two female subjects on a muni bus that was stopped at Mission Street and Evergreen Avenue. The muni bus driver said one subject fled the bus, and one was still on the bus suffering injuries to her nose. The subject, a 21-year old San Francisco resident, said she was on the bus and looking at her phone when an unknown female subject on the bus began punching her multiple times on her face and attempted to grab her cell phone and backpack. The victim said the subject did not take her belongings and exited the bus in an unknown direction. The victim described the suspect as a white female, approximately 30 year old, blonde hair, wearing a black tank top and possibly blue jeans. The victim was transported to the hospital for the injury to her nose. Investigators are working on leads to the identification of the suspect.

4 Residential Burglaries There were three residential burglaries and one attempted residential burglary during the past two weeks. On Friday, at 7:13 p.m., three unknown suspects tried to pry open a bedroom window to a residence on the 500 block of Alexis Circle. The resident came home an interrupted the burglars who fled the area. Between Saturday, at 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, at 7:00 a.m., a residence on the 1100 block of South Mayfair Avenue was burglarized via the garage door. The suspects took a laptop from the kitchen and three car keys which were hanging in the garage. All three cars were taken. Two of the cars were recovered a short distance away, and the third vehicle was recovered by the San Francisco Police Department, and the vehicle was occupied by three suspects. The first suspect, a 30- year old male San Rafael resident, was arrested for possession of stolen property, misappropriation of lost property, possession of suspected Fentanyl, being under the influence of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia. The second suspect, a 26-year old female Napa resident, was arrested for possession of burglary tools, being under the influence of a controlled substance and for a narcotics-related warrant. The third suspect, a 29-year old male Pacifica resident, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. On Wednesday, between 12:01 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., an unknown suspect pried open the front door of a residence on the 400 block of Wellington Avenue and stole a road bicycle valued at $700. On Tuesday, at approximately 3:00 a.m., an 82-year old Daly City resident said she was sleeping when she heard somebody trying to open her front door to her residence on the 700 block of Niantic Avenue. The victim said she has a bell attached to her door, so when someone opens the door, the bell rings. The victim said she got to her front door and heard a male say a curse word and then saw him flee. The victim could only describe the suspect as a black male adult, 5 10, slender, wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt and dark jeans. The victim said nothing was broken or stolen from her residence. Commercial Burglaries There were three commercial burglaries during the past two weeks. Between Wednesday, at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, at 8:00 a.m., an unknown suspect cut a chain link securing a storage container at the Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot and stole tools inside belonging to a construction company. On Sunday, at 3:26 a.m., numerous officers were dispatched to Jefferson High School on a report of an alarm activation in a classroom. While officers were searching the campus, they found two suspects, 17-year old and 24-year old Daly City residents, fleeing a classroom. They were arrested for commercial burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, vandalism, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools and for possession of a collapsible baton. On Wednesday, between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., an unknown suspect cut off a lock to a locker at the Westmoor High School swimming pool and took the victim s wallet. The suspect then made purchases at several stores with the victim s credit card. Vehicle Burglaries There were nine vehicle burglaries during the past two weeks.

5 Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Target School bags containing $20, school supplies and Beats headphones were taken from a 2018 Toyota Prius. The rear windows were smashed. Occurred on between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m Junipero Serra Boulevard parking garage school bags containing music accessories were taken form a 2011 Honda Pilot. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. **On-line report made Junipero Serra Boulevard parking garage a Jansport backpack containing an Apple MacBook Pro, charger and paperwork was taken from a 2018 Hyundai Elantra. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 9:00 p.m. and midnight. **On-line report made. Safeway parking lot a wallet containing a debit card was taken from the glove compartment of a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Unknown method of entry. Occurred on between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. **On-line report made. Westline Avenue/Southgate Avenue nothing was taken from a 2017 Toyota Corolla. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred between 12:00 p.m. on and 8:30 a.m. on Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Macy s a backpack containing an ipad, coin purse and airpods was taken from a 2014 Toyota RAV4. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Jamba Juice a backpack was taken from a 2002 Mitsubishi Gallant. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 9:00 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. **On-line report made. Oriente Street/Partridge Avenue ten dog collars were taken from a 2014 Honda Accord. The right front window was smashed. Occurred between 9:30 p.m. on and 8:45 a.m. on Partridge Avenue/Schwerin Street a black leather bag was taken from a 2006 Honda Element. The passenger window was smashed. Occurred between 7:30 p.m. on and 9:28 a.m. on Stolen Vehicles There were five vehicles stolen during the past two weeks. Unit block of Midway Drive a 2005 Honda Civic. Occurred on at 8:25 a.m. The victim left the keys in his vehicle. **The vehicle was recovered a few hours later by San Francisco P.D. Hillside Boulevard/Cottonwood Drive a 2017 Nissan Altima. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on and 11:15 a.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on King Drive/Hyde Court a 2016 Nissan Sentra. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on and 7:15 a.m. on Unit block of Los Olivos Avenue a 2000 Lexus GS300. Occurred between 4:30 p.m. on and 10:00 p.m. on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on Valero gas station parking lot on Skyline Drive a 2007 Lexus IS250. Occurred on at 4:18 a.m. The victim left the vehicle running and suspects his Lyft fare may have stolen the vehicle. Miscellaneous We responded to 17 domestic disturbance cases There were 15 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold There were 10 vandalism cases reported There were 9 hit and run collisions reported

6 Scams/Other Craigslist Apartment Rental Scam On Monday, at 3:42 p.m., Officer Perez was dispatched to the front desk of the police station to take a report about a fraud. The reporting party said she responded to an ad on Craigslist for an apartment on the 600 block of Sylvan Avenue. The reporting party said a subject, posing as Jose Morino said he was the apartment manager instructed her to send a deposit and the first month s rent, totaling $3,500. The victim later learned that the apartment was not for rent after all. This case is being investigated. Home Improvement Loan Scam On Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m., Officer Hepler met a 79-year old Daly City resident regarding a telephone scam. The victim said she had received a call a few days earlier from a subject claiming to be from the Bank of America who offered her a loan. The victim was instructed to purchase Google Play cards in order to obtain the loan. The subject repeatedly called the victim to ask for more money, and the victim kept purchasing the cards until she became suspicious. The victim lost $1, in this scam. Realty Home Investment LLC On Thursday, at 8:00 a.m., Officer Andrade met with a 31-year old Daly City resident who wanted to report fraudulent activity that occurred the week prior. The victim said on , he was on line and came across a company called Realty Home Investment LLC. The victim contacted the company over the phone and asked if the company could assist him in starting a housecleaning company in Daly City. The victim said the company said they were a large company with assets all over the country and asked for a $4,000 payment. The victim said they then retracted that figure and asked for a 20% down payment and then subsequently lowered it to a 10% down payment. The victim felt something was not right but continued with the requests that were being made. The victim sent $ into an account as instructed. The next day after he received a message to go to an address in Daly City to clean a home, no one was at the home. Officer Andrade believes it appears the Realty Home Investment LLC company is a fictitious company.
