2 Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 01/26/2016 7:00am To: 01/26/2016 9:00am W Nine Mile Rd. (Hospital) No signs of force. Most likely a key was used. Victim states she arrived at 7:00am for her appointment at the Hospital. Victim was taken to the locker room to change. Victim put her purse and jacket in locker. She wrapped her jacket around her purse on the hook, so her purse was not visible. The locker was closed, locked & secured. When victim returned to her locker, after her examination, she found the locker was open and someone had gone through her purse. Nothing appeared to be missing from the purse. Note: When patients return to their lockers an attendant has to unlock the locker. 3 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 01/25/ :12am Lahser Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Attempted to pry the Apartment door open. Officer met with Maintenance Supervisor from Apartment Complex. Maintenance Supervisor advises that at approx. 11:00am he was informed by victim from Apartment that someone attempted to enter his apartment while he was taking a shower. Another maintenance worker (witness) when being informed of incident stated that he believes that he may have seen the suspect. Witness advised that at about the same time the incident took place, he heard suspect run down the stairwell and run down the 7th floor hallway. Witness advised that suspect was out of breath and appeared to be running from something. 4 01/26/ :47am Lahser Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Door possibly left open by accomplice. 6' 2" Weight 300 Notes Wearing A Black Carhart Type Jacket, Dark Pants With Long Dread Locks. Victim received a call from her neighbor that her apartment door was standing open. Victim returned home at 10:45am. While waiting in the lobby for the elevator it opened and she observed 2- B/M subjects carrying a large Flat Screen TV which she recognized as hers. They were also carrying a shopping bag which she also recognized as hers. Victim confronted the subjects inquiring about the TV and one of the subjects told her it was given to them by a Grandparent. Victim told suspects it was hers. The subjects then put the TV down and ran out of the building with just the bag to a parked Older Model Black Dodge Stratus. The two suspects then drove away s/b on Lasher Rd. Victim went to her apartment and discovered in fact it was her TV that was removed from a spare bedroom. She also discovered that a box of costume jewelry was missing from her bedroom. Incident is under investigation. Suspects that were confronted by victim: Suspect Descriptions See Below:

6 From: 01/25/2016 3:00pm To: 01/27/2016 1:00pm Avon Ln. (Vacant Residence) Lock Box was cut off and key was used to enter residence. Suspects entered the home by cutting off the lock box and entering with a key. A small portion of the lock box bar was found lying next to the home. Suspects stole electric stove and a microwave. It appeared that the items were removed from the home with a two wheel dolly. From: 01/26/2016 6:00pm To: 01/27/ :00am Midway Rd. Lock box was compromised and key was used to enter residence. R/P (contractor) states sometime between 6:00pm and the following day at 10:00am unknown suspects entered the home and stole approx. 100 of cooper and the hot water tank. It appears that suspects entered the home using the key pad lock containing the key for the home. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should keep a close eye on any Vacant Homes, Homes Under Renovation or Homes For Sale in their neighborhoods. 7 01/27/ :12pm Wallace Dr. Attempt Only. Door handle on front door was broken. Victim states he woke up this morning and discovered that the door handle on his front screen door was broken. He believes that someone tried to enter his home overnight. No entry was gained into the home and there were no other signs of force. No suspect information was available. From: 01/29/ :30am To: 01/29/ :00am W Thirteen Mile (Residential- Apartments) No Forced Entry. Victim left her apartment this morning at 10:30am. Victim was only gone for minutes. Victim noticed cash was missing from a safe which was unlocked in her bedroom closet. Cash and a calculator are missing from the residence. No forced entry. Maintenance has keys. Victim states other tenants in the building have been complaining that things have been coming up missing from their apartments also. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens that have small safes that are not secured to the floor or a wall should never put anything of value inside it. These types of safes are good for keeping documents inside in case of a fire but never put anything of value like cash or jewelry. 8 01/31/ :17am Cottage Dr. Front door was forced open. Victim stated that they were asleep in their bedroom when they were awakened by a B/M standing in their bedroom. Victim stated that he shouted at the subject and he ran out of the bedroom and then out the front door. Victim followed after the suspect and discovered that his front door had been forced open. Victim discovered that his wallet was missing from the dresser where the suspect was last seen standing. The wallet contained victims ID, Bank Cards and Cash. On February 1, 2016 at 9:15am Officers were dispatched to Block of Berg Rd reference an open door at the vacant dwelling. Officers discovered the rear door to the vacant dwelling forced open. The house was unoccupied. Officers found and recovered victim s wallet. Everything except victim s cash was still in the wallet. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices Status S - Stolen Manufacturer FORD Model LGT CONVTNL 'F' Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2006 Body Style PK - Pickup Truck State MI License Year 2016 Description Gray 2006 Ford Pick up Status SR - Both Stolen And Recovered Manufacturer FORD Model FUSION Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2009 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI Description VEHICLE RECOVERED STOLEN Recovered Date/Time 01/31/ :38 Location Block Of Negaunee St. Victim states sometime between 8:30pm and the following morning at 7:30am someone stole his 2006 Ford P.U. Truck. Vehicle was parked at his Apartment Complex. Officers were dispatched to check on a Black Ford Fusion parked in the driveway in the Block of Negaunee St. The vehicle is in lein as a Stolen Vehicle. Officers made contact with the residence at the address. The resident stated she had no idea the vehicle was even in her driveway. Resident stated she was last outside on 01/30/2016 at approx. 7:00pm and the vehicle wasn t in her driveway. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Detroit. Vehicle was recovered by Officers.

10 Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 01/25/2016 7:15am Nine Mile Rd. (Hospital) Purse with contents were taken from trunk of victims 2013 Lincoln. Victim parked her vehicle at Hospital in the Theatre Parking Lot at 7:15am. Victim locked her purse in the trunk of her vehicle and went to work. Victim drove home and discovered her purse was not in the trunk; she immediately called Hospital Security and made a report with them. Victim contacted her credit cards and cancelled them as well as her passport. Victim went to the security office and was shown the surveillance footage from her incident. Approx. 2- minutes after she parked her vehicle a Black Vehicle pulled in next hers, an unknown subject (no desc.) opened her trunk, took her purse and left. Unknown how entry was gained into the trunk?

11 01/27/2016 1:17am (Suspect vehicle- Older 4-dr Sedan Gold in Color) From: 01/25/2016 8:00pm To: 01/26/ :20pm Lahser Rd. (Residential- Apartments) One Wheel & Tire was taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> In this incident the victim should have immediately called 911 and should not have confronted the suspects. Call 911 first, stay on the line with Police Dispatcher until the police arrive. This is safer & will give Police a better chance of catching the suspect(s). >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Harden Cir. Laptop and WIFI Device were taken. Victim stated she was in her apartment and observed the vehicle s tires being taken. Victim ran outside to prevent it before calling the police. Victim saw a skinny younger looking B/M wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans rolling one of the tires towards a smaller old four door sedan (gold in color) occupied by another B/M in the driver seat (no further description). Victim startled the suspect as he was rolling the Wheel & Tire he had just taken off the vehicle. The suspect quickly jumped into the passenger side of suspect vehicle and the vehicle fled the area. Victim was unable to get a make or model of the vehicle but stated that the rear was more round than square and there was a white seat cover over one of the front seats. Victim advised that on 01/25/2016 his car had been broken into and a laptop and WIFI Device were taken. Victim advised that he went outside later the same day and found the suspects attempting to break into his car again. Victim managed to stop the two suspects and a third subject ran off. Victim convinced one of the suspects to go home and bring back the laptop that they had stolen. Officers arrived on scene and two suspects were taken into custody.

(Residential- Apartments)) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer Michigan License Plate Description License Plate Stolen Victim stated her license plate was stolen sometime over the night between 8:00pm and the following morning at 7:30am. License Plate was taken from 2007 Buick Rendezvous. From: 01/27/2016 1:00am To: 01/27/ :45am Southfield Rd (Residential- Condo s) Navigation System was taken from 2009 Chrysler Town & Country. Victim stated the Navigation System was stolen out of her vehicle on Wednesday January 27, 2016 sometime between 1:00am & 11:45am. Entry was gained by breaking out the rear passenger side window. No suspect information. From: 01/27/ :40pm To: 01/27/2016 1:00pm Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Fitness Center) Purse was taken from 2012 Chevy Sonic. Victim stated sometime between 12:40pm- 1:00pm her purse was stolen out of her vehicle. Entry was gained by breaking out the passenger side window. 13 From: 01/26/2016 6:40pm To: 01/27/2016 6:48am Lahser Rd. (Residential- Townhouses) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2015 Ford Explorer. Victim states sometime between 6:40pm and the following morning at 6:48am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires from her 2015 Ford Explorer. 01/28/ :50pm West 12 Mile (Commercial- Pharmacy Plaza) Two-way radio and some loose change were taken from victims 2004 Hyundai Sonata. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked Victim states he was at location dropping off a catering order. Victim states he was out of sight of his unlocked vehicle for only 5 minutes. 14 Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details None Reported: Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition Unarmed Robbery: From: 01/27/ :00pm To: 01/27/ :15pm Northwestern (Commercial- Restaurant) (Parking lot.) Cell Phone & Cash was taken. Victim states he was at Restaurant in the Block of Northwestern Hwy when he received a call from suspect around 11:00pm. Suspect told victim to come outside of the restaurant so they could talk. Victim exited the restaurant to find three men waiting for him. Victim stated the three men attacked him and began punching him in the face several times. Victim was able to get away, but the three men reengaged. Victim was thrown to the ground where he was kicked and punched repeatedly. The three men took victims cell phone and cash and left him in the parking lot. Victim knows all three suspects and they have been identified. Victim and suspects are engaged in some type of business together and they are at odds with each other. Victim believes this is why he was attacked. Incident is under investigation.

15 01/31/2016 2:13am Laurel Woods (Residential- Apartment) (Parking Lot) Attempt Unarmed Robbery. Nothing taken. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> In this incident victim should have never gotten out of his vehicle. When victim saw the suspect hiding in his carport he should have backed out of the carport and driven to a safe location and called 911. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police Victim states when he got home and was pulling into his carport he noticed a pair of shoes (unknown person) under the carport. When victim got out of his car he yelled Hey to subject. The subject then ran behind the carport. Victim started running for his apartment building. When victim looked back the suspect was chasing him and stated You know what time it is, it s time to empty your pockets. Victim was able to get inside his apartment building ahead of suspect. Suspect then fled the area. A Southfield Police K-9 Unit was called to scene and tracked to a residence in the Block of Briarbank where it circled the residence. Contact was made at this residence and appeared to check ok at this time. Suspect Description: Last Name SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: First Name UNKNOWN DOB (Age) Sex M Race BLACK Facial Hair Unshaven/Stubble Complexion Medium Build Thin Height 5' 11" Notes B/M, LATE 20'S TO EARLY 30'S, 5'11", THIN BUILD, WHITE HOODY, BLACK BALL CAP.

16 Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Larceny of Wheels & Tires This Past Week: 1) Block of Lahser Rd. (Residential- Apartments) 2016 Ford Explorer. Suspects were scared off by victim. Victim saw a Skinny Younger Looking B/M wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans rolling one of the tires towards a Smaller Old 4-dr Sedan Gold in Color occupied by another B/M in the driver seat. Victim stated that the rear end of suspect vehicle was more round than square and there was a white seat cover over one of the front seats. 17 OWI/ Possession of Marijuana/ R&O Police Officer- 1- Arrest 01/26/2016 2:52am W Nine Mile Rd. & Lahser Rd. Officer stopped vehicle after observing several infractions indicating possible OWI. After stopping vehicle and approaching the driver, a strong odor of intoxicants could be smelled coming from the vehicle. When Officer attempted to take driver into custody he resisted arrest. Additional Officers arrived and assisted Officer and the driver was taken into custody. Officer s located suspected Marijuana in suspect s vehicle. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana. Driver refused breath test and a Search Warrant (SW) was obtained for a blood draw. Driver resisted this as well and with help from Hospital Security and staff the suspect was restrained and the blood draw was completed. OWI charges are pending results of the Blood Test.

18 AOD/ Auto Theft/ MDOP/ Larceny- 2- Arrests 01/28/ :30pm Officers & Detectives have been conducting an on- going Investigation on two suspects that fled from Officers after committing LFA in our city back in November of Officers determined that the two suspects have been committing several LFA s in and outside our city. Two vehicles had been identified that the suspects were using. On 01/28/2016 Officers & Detectives joined forces with Officers from other jurisdictions (Task Force) to set up surveillance of these two known suspects. The suspects and their vehicles were located and followed to a Car Dealership in a nearby jurisdiction. At approx. 10:30pm on 01/28/ 2016 the suspects were observed parking one of their vehicles in the business adjacent to a Car Dealership. Suspects were then observed getting out on foot, jumping the wall and entering the secured lot on the north side of Dealership. Shortly after entering the secured lot, the two suspects were observed breaking into and starting two vehicles. The suspects were then observed driving the vehicles through the secured lot at a high rate of speed. The vehicles were observed smashing into several other new vehicles that were parked in the lot. It appeared that the suspects did this because the parking lot is gated and they couldn t get out of the lot. The suspects were then observed exiting the two vehicles, leaving the Dealership lot on foot, jumping back over the wall and getting back in their vehicle. At this point Southfield Officers and Officers from other jurisdictions surrounded suspects and their vehicle and took the two suspects into custody.

19 It was later determined that the suspects had attempted to steal two vehicles from the Dealership, stole an Air Compressor and caused excessive damage to several vehicles in the parking lot. It s believed that these two suspects are responsible for several LFA s of Wheels & Tires in Southfield and other surrounding jurisdictions. Disorderly Person/ R&O- 1- Arrest (Released Due To Medical Reasons) 01/29/2016 1:06pm Block of W Twelve Mile Rd. (Bus Stop) Officers were dispatched to assist Bus Driver with Disorderly Person. Bus Driver stated that the moment the suspect entered the bus he refused to pay for his fare. Subject sat in the front row and began to yell at the bus driver. He began to swear at her using several foul words in front of approx. 12 other passengers on the bus. Witness was standing near the front when suspect began to swear at him and threatened to assault him if he were to take sides with the bus driver. Officers arrived on scene, spoke to the Bus Driver and then asked the suspect to leave the bus several times. The suspect refused to get off the bus and told Officers they would have to drag him off the bus. Officers advised the suspect several times if he didn t get off the bus he would be arrested for Disorderly Person. The suspect continued to refuse to get off the bus. When Officers attempted to handcuff the suspect he resisted arrest. Suspect was handcuffed and taken into custody. Because of suspects medical condition he was transported to Hospital issued 2- Ordinance Violations and released.

20 OWI- 1- Arrest N/B Southfield Rd. / Onyx St. 01/30/2016 5:01am Officers were dispatched to a slumped subject behind the wheel of vehicle. Officers located vehicle and subject. Officers completed an OWI investigation and determined that the driver intoxicated. The driver was arrested for OWI.
