1 Crime statistics at a glance: 4/9 4/23 **2 weeks** 4/24 5/6 **2 weeks** Year to Date Robberies attempted attempted Residential Burglaries attempted attempted Commercial Burglaries attempted Vehicle Burglaries attempted Stolen Vehicles When I mention the unit block of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. *This bulletin contains two weeks of information. Notable Cases On Tuesday, at 2:15 p.m., an 18-year old student at Westmoor High School was found to be in possession of eleven edible marijuana cookies on school grounds. The campus supervisor conducted a consensual search of the suspect s vehicle and found an 8 knife in the trunk. The student was suspended from school and will face an expulsion hearing. On Wednesday, at 12:30 a.m., following a traffic stop by Officer McCarthy on Citrus Avenue and San Diego Avenue, a 37-year old San Francisco resident was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting controlled substances for the purposes of sales and driving with a suspended driver's license. On Wednesday, at 2:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Dollar Tree store on Mission Street on a report of a shoplifter. The suspect, a 35-year old Daly City resident, was arrested for theft, and when officers searched the subject, they found he had paraphernalia used to consume controlled substances, controlled substances (heroin and methamphetamine) and suspected oxycontin and carisoprodol. On Wednesday, at approximately 10:32 p.m., a 31-year old Daly City resident was the victim of death via gunshot wounds. This occurred on the 100 block of Abbot Avenue. The two suspects, a 31-year old South San Francisco resident and a 25-year old Hayward resident, were arrested by our investigators the following day.

2 On Thursday, at 1:28 a.m., a reporting party called and advised there was an unknown object on fire in the parking lot of St. Francis Square. A 2003 Suzuki motorcycle was located fully engulfed in flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. On Saturday, at 12:06 a.m., numerous officers were dispatched to the Chevron station on Hickey Boulevard on a report of a subject wearing a mask, holding a knife and trying to get into the store. Officers found the suspect at the 7-Eleven on Gellert Boulevard and saw the subject attempting to walk out of the business with his face covered and a knife in his hand. After the officer commanded the subject to put the knife down, the subject finally complied. After an investigation, officers arrested the 41-year old South San Francisco resident for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, brandishing a knife and for possession of methamphetamine. On Saturday, at approximately 9:19 p.m., a 32-year old San Francisco resident was the victim on an attempted murder via shooting. This occurred in the inside of Classic Bowling alley. This occurred following a physical altercation of over 20 subjects. The suspects in this case were arrested later in the week. On Monday, at 7:50 p.m., Officer Perez and Officer Hepler were dispatched to the 200 block of Rio Verde Street on a report of a subject sleeping inside of a vehicle that was blocking the driveway. Officer Hepler attempted to wake the driver, but the driver was unresponsive. In plain view, the officers could see suspected methamphetamine, suspected crack cocaine and suspected heroin. Paramedics treated the subject, a 53-year old Hayward resident, and a complaint is sought. On Saturday, at 7:070 a.m., Officer Haas and Officer Todaro were dispatched to the 300 block of Bellevue Avenue on a report of a suspicious person. They found a male matching the description standing in the area. The subject, a 29-year old San Francisco resident, was subsequently arrested for being in possession of a concealed machete, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia a loaded syringe. On Saturday at 8:02 p.m., Officer Lajoie was dispatched to a call regarding a brandishing. The reporting party said he was an Uber driver and came to a stop at John Daly Boulevard and Junipero Serra Boulevard. He said the vehicle in front of him didn t move and when they started driving, the subject in that vehicle waved a gun in the air and pointed it at him and continued driving. The reporting party said a female in the subject s vehicle pushed the subject s arm holding the gun downward. The reporting party was able to obtain a license plate, and officers went to the subject s home and saw a subject carrying a bag and about to enter the vehicle. Officer Yip, who speaks Cantonese, explained to the subject their reason for contacting him. Due to the nature of the crime, the officers conducted a search of the subject and found a loaded Glock 17 9mm semi-automatic handgun in the bag. Officers arrested the subject, a 29-year old San Francisco resident, for assault with a deadly weapon, exhibiting a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm on a person. On Saturday, at 12:19 a.m., Officer Yip conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Geneva Avenue and Pueblo Street. The driver, a 26-year old Daly City resident and a convicted felon, was subsequently arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an unregistered loaded firearm, possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and sales and transport of a firearm. Additionally, Daly City Police Department officers conducted a probation search of the subject s bedroom and located multiple short barrel AR-15 assault rifles, two loaded firearms, a bolt-action rifle, multiple high capacity magazines, a large amount of ammunition, miscellaneous gun parts and two clear bags of marijuana. Those charges were also added. Robberies There were seven robberies during the past two weeks. On Monday, at 12:19 p.m., Officer Haas was dispatched to the Home Depot store on a report of two males in the process of stealing power tools. The subjects left prior to the officer s arrival.

3 The asset protection specialist for Home Depot said two subjects took several power tools, and when he confronted them, the suspects ripped the tools out of his hands. This investigation is continuing. On Tuesday, at approximately 9:31 p.m., the Lucky s Supermarket was the victim of a robbery by an unknown suspect who shoved a 50-year old security officer after he confronted him for stealing food items. The suspect is described as a black male adult, slender build, 6 0, wearing a black knitted cap with a white stripe, a grey hooded sweater, and black sweat pants with a thick red strip on the outer seam. This investigation is continuing. On Tuesday, at approximately 9:59 p.m., the Ross store was the victim of a robbery by an unknown suspect who attempted to take a duffel bag with Ross items from the store. A struggle ensued for the property with the loss prevention officer. The suspect left the store and returned with a cutting instrument and cut the locks off of two purses on the rack and fled the store. The loss prevention officer described the suspect as a black male, 20 s to early 30 s, 6 2 to 6 4, 200 lbs, chubby, with short afro-style hair, a dark complexion, a bull ring affixed to center of his nostril, and was last seen wearing a long blue sleeve polo shirt with black jeans and black shoes. On Thursday, at 2:40 p.m., Officer Farrar was dispatched to the In N Out Burger restaurant on Gellert Boulevard on a report of just-occurred armed robbery. The reporting party said he went into the restaurant to get some food while his female friend stayed inside his van. The reporting party said when he returned, his friend, a 24-year old San Francisco resident, told him she was on the phone when a man opened the front door of the van and took a bag from the front floorboard. His friend said she made a sound and said the suspect put his hand on what she thought was a gun in his waistband. The subject got into a nearby vehicle and left the area. The victim described the suspect as a black male adult, 25 years, 5 7, 125 pounds, black hair in a ponytail, black eyes, and wearing a gray tee shirt. On Saturday, at 7:46 p.m., Officer Shoopman was dispatched to the 800 block of Gellert Boulevard on a report of a male and female arguing. The reporting party said the female was on top of the hood of a vehicle, and the male was driving off with the female holding onto the vehicle. Officer Shoopman saw the female matching the description at Warwick Street and Gellert Boulevard. The female asked the officer why he was there, and she said she did not call for police. The female tried to stand but was unable to due to back pain. The female, an 18-year old Daly City resident, was uncooperative with the officer, and the officer called an ambulance for the pain the female was exhibiting. Officer Sunga arrived on the scene, and a male walked up and sat down next to the female. The female said she and the male were in a relationship for approximately four months, and they got into an argument. She said she grabbed her purse and was walked out of the house. The female said the male got upset and tugged on her purse and threw it in the front seat of his vehicle and drove away. The female said she jumped on his hood so he would not leave with her purse. The female said the male hit his brakes and caused her to be thrown off the hood and onto the pavement. The male, a 22-year old Daly City resident, was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and inflicting corporal injury. On Wednesday, at 1:15 p.m., a 14-year old San Francisco resident said he was walking from Panda Express towards the intersection of Southgate Avenue and Palmcrest Drive when an unknown male ran up beside him, pushed him to the ground and tried take his cell phone. The victim told the officer that the subject, described as a white male, approximately 22 years old, 5 9, heavy build, dark blond hair with the sides shaved, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and red sweat pants, demanded him to give his phone to him. The victim said he refused and held onto the phone. The victim said the suspect kicked him to his side two three times before fleeing on foot towards the recycling area. The victim waited three hours to make a report. On Friday, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a 22-year old Santa Rosa resident was the victim of an armed robbery by two unknown suspects. The victim said he was hit on the head with the butt of a handgun and kicked repeatedly by the suspects who took his iphone and jewelry. This occurred on the 500 block of King Drive.

4 Residential Burglaries There were two residential burglaries during the past two weeks. On Monday, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:17 p.m., an unknown suspect burglarized a residence on the 100 block of Oakridge Drive by shattering the rear window. The suspects ransacked the bedrooms and rummaged through the closets. The suspects stole collectible figurines. On Tuesday, between midnight and 5:58 a.m., an unknown suspect burglarized a residence on the 100 block of San Diego Avenue by forcing entry through a double door to the detached garage and stole two pieces of luggage containing clothing and shoes. Commercial Burglaries There were thirteen commercial burglaries during the past two weeks. On Tuesday, at approximately 9:05 p.m., two unknown subjects attempted to pry open a rear door at Safeway but were unsuccessful. The same suspects entered the store and took over $1,000 worth of tequila and fled the store. On Thursday, at approximately 1:00 p.m., four unknown male subjects entered the Home Depot store, loaded two shopping carts with various Makita power tools and exited the store without attempting to pay for the tools. The subjects got into an awaiting silver Mercedes Benz and fled the area. Between Thursday, at approximately 7:00 p.m. and Friday, at 9:00 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) pried open doors to seven offices at 950 John Daly Boulevard and stole items including an Apple MacBook and a HP Elite laptop. These burglaries are all being investigated. On Saturday, between 9:50 a.m. and 10:40 a.m., an unknown suspect cut the lock off a locker at the Westmoor High School while the victim was swimming at the pool. The loss was a key fob, iphone and a wallet containing the victim s credit cards. An unknown suspect used the cards to make purchases at the CVS pharmacy on Gellert Boulevard. This investigation is continuing. On Saturday, between 9:50 a.m. and 10:40 a.m., an unknown suspect cut the lock off a locker at the Westmoor High School while the victim was swimming at the pool. The loss was a wallet, key fob and iphone. The investigation is continuing. On Tuesday, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., an unknown suspect cut the padlock to a locker in the women s locker room at the 24 Hour Fitness and stole currency and credit cards. The investigation is continuing. On Friday, at approximately 1:35 p.m., two unknown suspects walked into the Verizon Wireless store at Westlake Shopping Center and stole three cell phones which were on display. They fled in an older white GMC van. The investigation is continuing. Vehicle Burglaries There were eight vehicle burglaries during the past two weeks. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot #A5 a backpack containing miscellaneous paperwork was taken from a 2015 Acura RDX. An unknown window was smashed. Occurred on between 5:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

5 In N Out Burger parking lot on Washington Street a Jansport backpack containing a Seiko watch and two library books was taken from a 2017 Dodge Caravan. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on between 3:10 p.m. and 3:39 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Denny s a backpack and gym bag containing an Apple Mac Book Pro, Microsoft tablet, miscellaneous clothing and a social security card was taken from a 2014 Dodge Journey. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 11:45 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Safeway parking lot two backpacks were taken from the back seat of a 2014 Ford Focus. The rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:10 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. **Online report made. IHOP parking lot a purse containing cash, a driver s license, checkbook, cell phone and sunglasses was taken from underneath the driver s seat of a 2007 BMW 535i. The left front window was smashed. Occurred on between 8:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near Target a backpack was taken from a 2007 Toyota Yaris. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on and 1:30 a.m. on The backpack was found empty nearby. In N Out Burger parking lot on Gellert Boulevard a soccer jersey and a Coach purse containing identification and sunglasses were taken from a 2015 Ford Explorer. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 6:40 p.m. and 7:04 p.m. Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot near JC Penney a backpack containing a MacBook Pro, Clipper card, Kindle Voyage and Boss headphones was taken from a 2016 BMW 428i. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on between 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Stolen Vehicles There were nine vehicles stolen during the past two weeks. Unit block of Huntington Drive a 2006 Honda CBR600. Occurred on between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Clarinada Avenue/St. Francis Boulevard a 1994 Toyota Corolla. Occurred between 11:00 p.m. on and 6:00 a.m. on **Recovered by Salinas P.D. on block of Clarinada Avenue a 1996 Honda Accord. Occurred between 12:30 p.m. on and 4:00 a.m. on **Recovered by Broadmoor P.D. on block of Belcrest Avenue a 2018 Mercedes Benz E400. Occurred on at 11:45 a.m. ** Recovered in Oakland on block of Hillcrest Drive a 2015 Honda Civic. Occurred on between 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. **Recovered by Daly City P.D. on Westlake Shopping Center parking lot near Nation s a 2005 Toyota Tundra. Occurred on between 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. **Recovered by the CHP/San Francisco on Unit block of Westlake Avenue a 1998 Honda Civic. Occurred on between 4:35 a.m. and 6:25 a.m. **Recovered by Oakland P.D. on block of Westdale Avenue a 1997 Honda Accord. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on and an unknown time on **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on Hickey Boulevard/Callan Boulevard a 2004 Honda Accord.
