It is alleged that the victim agreed to have a 29-year-old man and a male Young Offender attend his home on Sammon Avenue. While in the home, the males became involved in a violent struggle with the victim was assaulted and stabbed Officers attended and arrested the 29-year-old man in the area while the second suspect, a male Young Offender, fled the area. The victim, along with the accused were taken to hospital and treated for serious, but non-lifethreatening, injuries. On Sunday, January 6, 2013, the male Young Offender surrendered to police. A 29yr old male, of Toronto, and a male Young Offender, also of Toronto, have each been charged with: 1. Assault with a Weapon 2. Aggravated Assault 3. Robbery 4. Weapons Dangerous [1]

3 The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of lost medication. It is reported that between Thursday, December 27, 2012 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013, a quantity of medication was lost in the Danforth Avenue/Donlands Avenue area. The medication that was lost consisted of eight 5 mg Percocet tablets These drugs are considered to be dangerous, if consumed, especially to children. Anyone finding the medication is asked not to handle it, but to contact police at , Crime Stoppers anonymously at TIPS (8477), online at text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637), or Leave A Tip on Facebook.It is reported that: 1) On Thursday December 6, 2012 at approximately 1:30 am the Toronto Police Service Major Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on Gerrard Street West, in the City of Toronto. A search of the aforementioned address by officers resulted in the seizure of grams of cocaine, grams of marihuana and a quantity of Canadian currency as proceeds of crime. 2) A 44 year old women was operating a common bawdy house out of her residence. On she was upset with one of her prostitutes and tried to throw her belongings over the balcony. When the victim tried to stop her the accused grabbed her by the hair and began punching her. She then went into the kichen and returned with a 6" knife and tried to stab the victim. Other residents stopped her. Charges: Assault, Assault with a weapon. 3) On December 11th, 2012 at approximately 21:49 hours members of the Gun and Gang Task Force executed a CDSA search warrant at an address on Cosburn Avenue. The accused was located in the premises and placed under arrest. The accused was subsequently transported to 54 Division and held pending a show cause hearing. Charges: Possession for the Purpose cocaine Possession of the Proceeds of Crime 4) On Tuesday December 11th, 2012 police responded to a radio call for a robbery on Vendome Place. The victim told police he was using a laptop computer in the hallway of the building when the suspect grabbed the item from his hands and fled. Upon further investigation police attended another unit on Vendome Place where they located the accused. The accused was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to 54 Division where he was held pending a show cause hearing Charged with Robbery. 5) On December 14th, 2012 an 18 year old male approached and pushed to the ground the victim. A 2nd accused subsequently sat on the victim, preventing him from moving. At this time, the 1st accused began to rummage through the victim's pockets. The 1st accused reached into the victim's right pocket and took his cell phone. Both accused parties immediately released the victim and fled the scene on foot. The victim followed the accused parties for a short distance until he was able to flag down and notify a bypassing police officer. Both accused parties were subsequently arrested by police a short distance away from the scene. Both parties charged with robbery. [2]

4 54 DIVISION TRAFFIC OFFICE On Thursday January 24th, 2013, Sgt Jack West of the 54 Division Traffic Office held a RIDE spot check with officers from both 54 Division and 41 Division. In attendance at the spot check were members of the Toronto Argonauts. They also brought with them the Grey Cup. 413 vehicles were stopped. [3]

6 54 COMMUNITY RESPONSE Officers from the Community Response Unit have been busy helping out around the city. Most recently, on Saturday January 26th, officers assisted the downtown divisions Liberal Leadership Convention. This event went off without any incidents. Our officers have been working hard with our hockey program which is run in Flemingdon Park. The hockey program has a new website. There are lots of pictures and information about the program on the site. Our mountain bike program also has a new site, We have been posting pictures of the rock climbing program on the site until we start riding again. climbing. We have also been posting lots of pictures on our facebook and twitter accounts. Rock Climbing The 54 Division Rock Climbing Program involves officers from 54 Division CRU and youth from the neighbourhoods in the division. The program is run by PC Marc Hayford. 7 54 Division CPLC The Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) is pleased to represent the community as we work together with the leadership and officers of 54 Division of the Toronto Police Service. The partnership is ongoing and consistent, and not simply a reaction to specific incidents in the division, and therefore gives the community a voice and an understanding of police issues throughout the year. Home Surveillance Camera Project Home surveillance cameras are becoming more and more popular as their cost continues to decrease. Over the past few years, officers from 54 Division have been able to utilize footage from home security cameras to assist us in solving crimes. A home security camera may not only capture crime occurring on your property, but it may also capture a crime happening on your neighbours property. If you are interested in purchasing a system for your home and are unsure of what to look for, contact us at and we would be happy to assist you in any way possible. If you already have a system set up at your home, why not contact us and help set up a community list of cameras to help us solve crimes in your neighbourhood. If we are investigating a crime a few doors down from your home, we would be able to contact you and make arrangements to have the video viewed. 9 PROACTION ROCK CLIMBING The ProAction Rock Climbing Program got underway during the first week of November. Youth from the mountain biking club joined officers from 54 Division at the Toronto Climbing Academy through out the month to climb the various walls at the gym. This will continue throughout the winter and into the spring. PROACTION HOCKEY LEAGUE The ProAction hockey league is up and running.

The official launch of the program is in a few short weeks.

10 PROACTION HOCKEY LEAGUE The ProAction hockey league is up and running. So far we have just been teaching the kids hockey basics and some skating skills. The official launch of the program is in a few short weeks. We encourage everyone to come down to the Angela James arena in Flemingdon Park on Sundays throughout the winter, to see the youth from 54 division learn our national past time. We have several teams in 2 age groups that provide a great deal of entertainment for the spectators in the arena. [9]
