1 The Dufferin Cmmunity Fundatin (DCF) is ready t pen its first grant-making pprtunity. While much f its effrt t date has been directed tward putting its rganizatin in place, we want t celebrate the fficial launch f ur Cmmunity Fundatin by presenting three mini-grants t supprt its missin. The missin f the Dufferin Cmmunity Fundatin is t create a vibrant cmmunity where a can-d attitude engages residents, philanthrpists and service prviders. It cnnects caring cmmunity members t wrthwhile causes by grwing endwment funds and prviding respnsible grants that will leave a legacy f enriched cmmunity wellbeing in Dufferin Cunty. T fster philanthrpy, the DCF will fcus its effrts respnsibly: Establish, manage and grw cmmunity-based endwment funds Cnduct and publish research n cmmunity needs Invest capital and earnings in wrthy cmmunity needs and pprtunities thrugh grants Sustain its administrative peratins thrugh fundraising and wise investment. As a charitable rganizatin currently serving the Dufferin cmmunity, yu are invited t participate in ur 2018 Launch by submitting a mini-grant applicatin. The theme f this cmpetitin is What if we had anther $1000 in ur budget fr next year? All f the fllwing apply: Organizatins prviding prgrams and services t Dufferin Cunty residents Qualified dnees (As defined by CRA, a qualified dnee is an rganizatin that can issue fficial dnatin receipts fr gifts it receives frm individuals and cpratins. It can als receive gifts frm registered charities.) Existing prgrams r prjects (i.e., champins, plans and budgets already established) Eligibility fr these mini-grants is cnsistent with CRA requirements and the current Dufferin Cmmunity Fundatin funding apprach. The Dufferin Fundatin is encuraging dnrs and spnsrs t supprt the fllwing funds: The Dufferin Visin Fund A general fund frm which earnings are used t address the areas f greatest need in Dufferin in any given time perid. Using research tls such as the Vital Signs survey, the Bard will allcate funds t eligible charitable rganizatins acrss the brad categries f Stepping Stnes addressing basic needs helping individuals and families t embrace and participate in tday s Dufferin cmmunity Thriving Cmmunity encuraging participatin f all residents in expanded experiences t nurture Dufferin s legacy New Hrizns creating an incubatin culture t psitin Dufferin as a leader and a place t shape the future.
