3 Yuth Cnnect Meeting Ntes 4.3 TAFE East Cast s New training packages Erik Ddwell, TAFE East Cast The natinal Cmmunity Services Training Package has changed recently and is being implemented frm 2016 at TAFE Qld East Cast (TQEC) There are sme new qualificatins, and many qualificatins / units have additinal assessment requirements The main qualificatin areas ffered by the Cmmunity Wrk team are: Yuth Wrk Cmmunity Services Case Management (including an RPL-nly Grad Cert) Child, Yuth and Family Interventin Mental Health Child Prtectin (including an RPL-nly Grad Cert) Scial Husing Cmmunity Sectr Management (including an RPL-nly Grad Dip Strategic Leadership) The Cmmunity Wrk team has previusly ffered distance learning nly t peple already wrking in the cmmunity sectr, but are nw pening it t new wrkers. Vcatinal placement is an imprtant part f the prgram in rder t practice skills and cre values, and we ask that rganisatins cnsider their ability t hst a placement student frm time t time as an investment int the future f the sectr. 4 Yuth Cnnect Meeting Ntes 5.0 OTHER UPDATES 5.1 The Smith Family, Marin Allen SAVER PLUS assists peple n lwer incmes t strengthen their financial skills and develp a lngterm savings habit. It is a financial literacy prgram that builds peple's mney management skills and cnfidence with simple tls including budgets and spending diaries. The prgram has reached ver 26,000 Australians t date, and as an incentive t save, participants receive up t $500 in matched savings frm ANZ when they cmplete the prgram, which can be used fr educatinal items such as cmputers and tablets, text bks, sprts equipment, music lessns, and unifrms. T be eligible t jin Saver Plus participants need t: be at least 18 years ld; hld a Health Care r Pensiner Cncessin card; have sme frm f regular incme frm wrk; and be a parent r guardian f a child at schl, r attend vcatinal educatin themselves. Cnsultatin respnses shwed that infrmatin exchange, crdinatin rles and netwrk facilitatin were the key areas that cuncil culd prvide supprt.
