1 CAMA Kids CAMP POSITIONS 2016 This is a brief explanatin f the psitins at CAMA kids Camp beginning with the yungest psitins. The general rule f thumb is teens are welcme t serve at camp when they have been ut f camp fr ne year. I d like t make a disclaimer: All leaders fllw the C&MA dctrine and preferably active in ministry in their cngregatin as part f acceptance and have had a backgrund check. 2 Teens - cllege Chili Dgs Teens in the Kitchen (must be at least 14 years ld/entering the 9 th grade) under the supervisin and leadership f Lead Ck and Operatins Directr, Chili Dgs will be respnsible fr the fllwing duties: Set up and take dwn tables and chairs in the dining hall Set ut tableware (plates, napkins, etc.) befre every meal Wash and put away dishes after every meal Sweep and mp the dining hall flrs Keep the picnic table water jugs filled and cups stcked Wrk at the snack shack while campers are having free time Cunselr & C Cunselr have a viable and grwing relatinship with Gd thrugh Jesus Christ lead and mentr junir and teen age children demnstrate physical and emtinal stamina be a peacemaker knw hw t prblem slve and reslve cnflict apprpriately fllw leadership instructins and camp guidelines practice uplifting and psitive cmmunicatin skills cmplete paperwrk in a timely manner Cunselr in Training (CIT) qualificatins and duties have a viable and grwing relatinship with Gd thrugh Jesus Christ lead and mentr junir age children demnstrate physical and emtinal stamina knw hw t fllw the lead f senir cunselr be willing t learn new things practice uplifting and psitive cmmunicatin skills Page 2

3 Adults Camp Adult Kitchen Staff- (must be at least 16 years ld, fd handlers permit encuraged but nt required) under the supervisin and leadership f Lead Ck and Operatins Directr, adult kitchen staff will be respnsible fr the fllwing duties: Fllw fd handling prcedures t ensure quality and safety f meals being served at camp. Assist in the planning and preparatin f meals, 2-3 hurs befre meal times Assist in the serving f meals as campers enter the dining hall Assist in kitchen clean up and prper handling and strage f left ver fds after meals Assist in the preparatin f special meals/snacks fr campers with dietary needs Lifeguard The CAMA Camp lifeguard mnitrs waterfrnt activities and ensures member safety. Lifeguards need t pssess knwledge f rescue prcedures and emergency medical prcedures. T help prevent incidents, lifeguards must enfrce all safety guidelines as utlined by CAMA Camp. T ensure safety, lifeguards must remain alert thrughut an entire shift. Applicant must hld lifeguard and CPR certificatin. Additinal jb duties a lifeguard perfrms include preparing activity and incident reprts and verseeing water frnt recreatinal items such as cane s, paddles, and life jackets. This psitin is during camp week. Cunselr / CIT Mentrs Qualificatins are nt limited t persnal experience as a cunselr. Mentrs guide yung leaders and equip them fr the week f camp verseeing the cabins. Nurse Qualificatins: A Washingtn State nurse s license is desirable. One mnth befre camp, take inventry sheet frm the last day f camp and restck cart. Make sure that everything n cart wrks prperly. Review release frms, call parent if there is a questin, have Camp Directr call if there isn't a release frm. Saturday befre camp, wrk with Facilities Directr t assure cabins are free f safety hazards, wasps, spiders. Sunday, campers arrive, cmmunicate with staff s that they understand yu are there t help them as well as their campers. Register campers and prepare MAR. Try t let cabin leaders knw if they have campers that are t receive medicatins at dinner time t bring that camper t yu. During camp week dispense medicatins as rdered, mnitr activities fr safety, EMT r nurse shuld mnitr lake. Help with ther activities as yu have time. Keep cart clean and stcked. Friday befre campers leave, clean & inventry cart. When campers check ut any meds nt picked up g t the Camp Directr wh will attempt t cntact the parents. Exhale Page 3

4 Adults during the year Music Directr Qualificatins include knwledge in child develpment, an array f faith and fun sngs fr camp, ability t lead wrship and sngs arund the campfire circle, flexibility in scheduling, wrks directly with the Prgram Directr and Camp Directr. Music Directr will plan, versee, and implement a creative wrship prgram fr the week f camp with a team f chsen musicians and leaders under the leadership f the Prgram and Camp Directr. Craft & Recreatin qualificatins fr craft and recreatin leaders are similar, each psitin must have knwledge f their area creating crafts and games apprpriate fr large grups f children. Each lead must be able t give instructins publically t large grups. Each leader will wrk with Camp and Prgram Directrs with a willingness t be flexible as needs arise. Staff Recruitment Directr qualificatins are nt limited t a knwledge f camp ministry, understanding the needs f children and staff during the week. This psitin cllects all necessary applicatins and recmmendatins including invlvement in the decisin making f staff in the cabins. Office and Website qualificatins are nt limited t basic ffice and cmputer skills, basic bkkeeping, knwledge in excel, basic web design preferred alng with rganizatinal skills and flexibility t the camp schedule. This psitin is year rund under the directin f the Camp Directr. Camper Registratin- Backgrund in leadership with children preferred, cmmunicatin skills t wrk with parents as they register. This psitin is respnsible fr cllecting camper registratins, apprpriate fees and medical frms prir t camp week. This psitin is year rund and wrks clsely with the Camp Directr and Staff Recruitment Directr. Lead Ck- under the supervisin and leadership f the Operatins Directr and Camp Directr, Lead Ck will be respnsible fr the fllwing duties: Fllw fd handling prcedures t ensure quality and safety f meals being served at camp. Organize camp menu and facilitate rdering f kitchen fds and supplies Oversee the planning and preparatin f meals thrughut the week Organize scheduling and utline duties f kitchen staff each day Cmmunicate with parents regarding any special dietary needs f campers Campgrund Operatins qualificatins fr this psitin include but nt limited t basic mechanical knwledge. General chres are necessary arund the camp frm cleaning bathrms, setting the stage area up, mving and installing sund equipment and setting up needs arund the camp within cabins, rv s and tents. This psitin wrks with the Park Ranger during the week and in the mnths befre camp getting the camp checked in and ut prperly. Prgram Directr qualificatins t be the prgram directr rest n the needs f the Camp Directr. This psitin wrks alngside the directr setting the schedule tgether fr the staff and campers. A knwledge f child develpment, week camp needs and rganizatin skills are vital. Camp Directr qualificatins fr Camp Directr; CAMA Kids Camp experience, rdained pastr, children s ministry experience. T further the missin f CAMA Camp thrugh giving versight t: the develpment and management f camp prgrams, the Page 4
