1 Scpe f Services The City f Gse Creek is seeking prpsals frm qualified cntractrs t perfrm landscape maintenance and rights f way mwing at varius areas and facilities. The wrk includes trimming, edging, mwing, weed cntrl, placement f mulch, planting f shrubs, grasses and ther landscaping plants, tree pruning, insect cntrl and ther duties cmmn t landscaping maintenance. The cntractr shall prtect the surrundings frm damage due t his wrk methds, prcedures and wrkmen t include building surfaces, finishes, irrigatin systems, landscape lighting, equipment, signs and sign psts, fencing, landscaping and ther cmpnents. The cntractr shall repair any and all damage t prperty incurred by the cntractr s activities The cntractr shall replace trees, shrubs, plants, mulch and grass damaged by the cntractr. The cntractr shall repair / fill all ruts and abrasins caused by the cntractr s equipment and establish turf n the areas f repair. If any damages are nt repaired within thirty days, the City may make such repairs and deduct the cst frm the cntractr s invice. The cntractr shall furnish all supplies and equipment necessary t cmplete the wrk. All cntractrs equipment shall be remved frm the area at the end f the wrk day. Cntractr shall als furnish their emplyees with all the necessary PPE (Persnal Prtective Equipment) as specified by the Equipment Manufacturer. Cntractr will be respnsible fr ensuring that their emplyee s wear all PPE required fr safe peratin f equipment. The cntractr will als be respnsible fr turning in a recrd f the wrk perfrmed after each visit fr verificatin by City persnnel. Electrnic submittal will be allwed. Wrk activities at the Municipal Cmplex are t be scheduled such that the grunds are neat and rderly n the secnd Tuesday f each mnth in preparatin fr the mnthly City Cuncil meeting. Rights f Way Mwing: 1. Mwing lcatins and frequency are detailed in Prperty Lcatins And Scpe Descriptin belw. 2. Prir t any mwing activities, it is the respnsibility f the cntractr t pick up any trash, debris r lse materials. Any litter debris generated by the mwing activity is t be remved by the cntractr. This cllected material shuld be remved frm the area by the cntractr at the end f the wrk day. 3. All mwing is t be cnducted using sharp, prperly adjusted blades t ensure a clean, unifrm cut. Trim ut / weed eating arund trees, bedding areas, sign psts, guard rails, fence psts, etc. shuld be cmpleted befre cutting the grass. 4. If at any time the grass clippings are excessive as determined by the City, they shall be remved. Grass shuld be mwed t avid clumping. Clumps f mwn debris will nt be acceptable and shuld be remved frm the area by the cntractr. 5. Grass in the rights f way shuld be cut t a height f 4 6 inches. 6. Grass shall be cut a minimum f five feet (5 ) alngside each side f hiker/biker trails. 7. Grass clippings n hard surfaces, i.e. trails, rads, curbs and parking lts, shall be swept/blwn ff befre the cntractr leaves the area. 8. Cntractr will be respnsible fr any damage sustained t private r public prperty (i.e. autmbiles, glass breaks, benches, etc.)

2 Landscape Maintenance: 1. Landscape maintenance shall be executed at the lcatins and frequency detailed in Prperty Lcatins And Scpe Descriptin belw. 2. All areas adjacent t hiker/biker trails, curbs, driveways, and sidewalks, shall be edged with a blade edger; resulting in a clean, straight edge. 3. All clipping resulting frm the edger will be remved frm cncrete and bedding areas t prduce a clean appearance. 4. Grass in landscaped r lawn areas shuld be cut t an apprpriate height t maintain a manicured appearance. 5. Grass shall be cut a minimum f five feet (5 ) alngside each side f hiker/biker trails. 6. Grass clippings n hard surfaces, i.e. trails, rads, curbs and parking lts, shall be swept/blwn ff befre the cntractr leaves the area. 7. Weeds grwing in cracks f curbing and cncrete shall be remved by the cntracting cmpany. 8. All landscaped bedding areas are t be maintained free f litter with 2 4 f pine straw. New pine straw t be added in the Spring and Fall t maintain prper depth. 9. Pre emergent bed herbicides will be applied by a trained prfessinal with the apprpriate herbicide license, and special care will be taken nt t damage turf areas. 10. All bedding areas shall be maintained in a manner that they remain free f all weeds and ther undesirable plant grwth by physical remval and applicatins f herbicide as may be apprpriate. 11. All plant grwth arund fences, building lines, trees, psts, and ther areas where a mwer cannt reach shall be trimmed. Special cautin will be taken nt t damage small trees and shrubs with the nyln line f the trimmer. 12. Pesticides will be applied by a trained prfessinal with the apprpriate pesticide license, and special care will be taken nt t damage turf areas r plants/trees. Applicatin t be in accrdance with manufacturer s recmmendatins t keep areas free f fire ants and ther pests. 13. Tree rings alng radways shall be kept free f ant munds. 14. Maintain a clear zne f 6 7 frm grund level n large deciduus trees. 15. Remve all dead limbs as they ccur 16. Mnitr trees fr insect and disease infestatin; prmptly address any sightings. 17. All trees are t be mulched with pine straw by March 1 st. All trees are t be maintained with a 2 4 layer f pine straw at all times. Pine needles are the respnsibility f the cntractr. 18. Trees/plantings that die r are damaged due t natural causes shall be prperly remved, and dispsed f by the cntractr at the expense f the City, based n an inspectin by bth parties. The cntractr at the expense f the City shall then plant a replacement tree(s). 19. Trees/plantings that die r are damaged due t neglect shall be prperly remved, dispsed f, and a new tree(s) planted at the expense f the Cntractr, based n an inspectin by the City and the Cntractr. 20. Trees shall be prperly staked t prmte prper grwth and verall frm. Staked trees shall be firmly secured but allw mvement. D nt allw girdling

5 I. SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Respnses t the Request fr Prpsals shuld include the fllwing: - Thse cntractrs interested in prviding landscaping and maintenance services must submit three signed riginals and the prpsal must include the items utlined belw. In additin t the infrmatin required as described belw, a Respndent may submit supplemental infrmatin that it feels may be useful in evaluating its prpsal. This infrmatin may include dcuments such as a Respndent s prfile r brchure. 2. Prpsal Develpment - Required cntent f prpsal: The detailed requirements set frth belw are recmmended. All csts incurred by the prpser assciated with RFP preparatins and subsequent interviews and/r negtiatins, which may r may nt lead t executin f a cntract, shall be the respnsibility entirely and exclusively by the prpser. The purpse f the prpsal is t demnstrate the technical capabilities, prfessinal prpsals, past experiences, and knwledge within this industry. a. Transmittal Letter A transmittal letter must be submitted with the prpsal which shall include: i) Cmpany name, address, telephne number and website. ii) Name, title, address, and telephne number f the persn t cntact and wh are authrized t represent the cmpany and t whm crrespndence shuld be directed. iii) A brief statement f yur understanding f the services t be perfrmed, evaluatin f the wrk areas and make a psitive cmmitment t prvide services as specified. iv) Prpsal summary, including why the cntractr is pursuing the wrk and hw it is uniquely qualified t perfrm the services. v) The letter must be signed by a crprate fficer r persn authrized t bind the cntractr t the prpsal and prpsed cst. vi) A statement indicating that the prpsal and prpsed cst will be valid and binding fr ninety (90) days fllwing the prpsal due date, and will becme part f the cntract negtiated with the City f Gse Creek. b. Experience and Qualificatins Prvide a shrt prfile f yur cmpany including at a minimum: i) Length f time in business. ii) Length f time in prviding prpsed services. iii) Number f clients. iv) Number f clients in the public sectr. v) Number f full time emplyees available t prvide. c.
