1 June 1, 2018 Welcme 4 H Campers! We hpe yu are ready fr the 2018 Reginal 4 H Camp! The 4 H camp staff and cunselrs have anther exciting summer camp experience planned. We can t wait fr yu t arrive!! The H Reginal Camp is a unique camping pprtunity fr any yuth wh has cmpleted grades 3 6. Our gal is cmbine educatin and recreatin fr a ne f a kind camp experience. Camp takes place at the University f Minnesta campus in Mrris. Our lcatin allws us t ffer tp quality drms and a full menu f great fd. Imprtant things t knw: Check In/Check Out Times: Our campers will be staying in Independence Hall. Fr families wh are bringing their child t camp n June 19, registratin will be frm 10:15am t 10:30am. On Thursday, June 21, yu can pick up yur child at 2:30 pm. Parents must stp at the check ut table n Thursday t sign yur child ut. Camp Attendance: Campers are the respnsibility f camp staff frm Tuesday t Thursday. Please nte: they will nt be able t leave fr any activities during camp time. If yu have specific questins, please Casey Olsn at ls4266@umn.edu. Camp Stre: There will be a 4 H camp stre where we will sell snacks, 4 H and under the sea items fr varying prices. (See recmmended extras n Packing List enclsure fr spending mney recmmendatins.) Lst and Fund: Be sure t label all camper belngings! (See smart packing tips n Packing List enclsure). With s many yuth at camp, we cannt be respnsible fr lst items. There will be a Lst and Fund table n the last day f camp. Items nt claimed by June 30 will be dnated t Gdwill. During 4 H camp, all campers and cunselrs have American Incme Life Insurance cverage. We take every reasnable precautin fr the risk assciated with ur utdr activities. Write yur child s name n persnal items & clthes. What t Bring: THE BASICS Camping Clthes (plan fr warm and/r cl weather): Shrts/Pants, Lng sleeved & shrtsleeved shirts, Light jacket r sweatshirt, Pajamas, Undergarments, Scks, Hat (fr sun prtectin) Persnal tiletries: tthbrush, tthpaste, sap, shamp, dedrant, cmb/brush, etc. Shes: cmfrtable tennis shes, flip flps/shwer shes. Swim gear: swim suit, beach twel RECOMMENDED EXTRAS Pillw case, laundry bag, trash bag (fr dirty clthes) Bug Spray / Sunscreen Camera (n ipds r phnes) Water Bttle (labeled with yur child s name) Mney fr Camp Stre $20 r less (camp staff can keep mney if requested) There will be 4 H and Under the Sea items available fr purchase, as well as bttled water and healthy snacks at the stre. Vending machines will nt be available fr campers. MEDICATIONS If any medicatins are being sent t camp, Authrizatin fr Medicatin frm must be cmpleted and sent with any medicatins in a Ziplc bag labeled in permanent marker with the camper s name. All prescriptin medicatins must cme in riginal cntainer with camper name n it. All nn prescriptin medicatins must travel in riginal brand name cntainer. T ensure safety f all campers, all medicatins will be kept by camp staff n medicatins will be allwed in rms! WHAT NOT TO BRING: N Electrnic Devices! Give yur child a small jurnal s they can write messages r recrd autgraphs and addresses f ther campers. Take a digital pht f yur family and irn it n t a pillw case. Hmesickness Kit: Include a picture f the family, a rubber band and a chclate kiss t remind them f yur hugs and kisses, and a Kleenex t dry away their tears. Activity Kit: Playing cards, glw sticks, ntebk/drawing pads, clred pencils, travel size games (i.e. checkers, etc.). Mail: If yur child wuld like t write hme, please include sme self-addressed stamped envelpes r pst cards. Prestamped 4-H Camp pst cards will be available t purchase in ur camp stre, s send yur address with yur child. Please feel free t mail letters (recmmend mailing n later than June 11 t ensure they arrive n time) r yur child while at camp.
