I wuld like t finish the prjects that I have initiated tgether with the rest f SI Exc, ther SI cmmittees and ther SI vlunteers during ur mandate perids August 2012-Octber 2015 and Octber This means I wuld like t make sure that a stable system fr the maintenance and develpment will be put in place fr the current Servas Internatinal s website, the underlaying cntent management system (CMS) and member administratin system called ServasOnline System, The system was launched during 2016 and 2017, but there s a lt f wrk that needs t be dne by it prfessinals and SI vlunteers. I wuld like t cntinue the wrk the current SI Exc has cntinued t create a strng identity fr SI as a peace rganisatin with a hspitality prgramme with the help f a visin and missin statement as a fundatin. This fundatin nw needs t be reinfrced with a values and principles fundatin base. I wuld like t make Servas the preferred chice when members f ther rganizatins in the area f peace, human rights, sustainable develpment and envirnmental prtectin decide which hspitality rganizatin they shuld jin fr their crsscultural learning experiences arund the wrld. I wuld als like t finish the wrk t make SI s finances and decisins system as up t date and transparent as pssible fr all individual Servas members, as well as fr external and internal audits. I wuld als like all individual members and representatives f Servas member grups t understand that Servas must break the current slightly dwnward trend in incme, which is caused by a decreasing sale f SI stamps t be put n the Letters f intrductin, LOI. The first cncrete actin will be t make sure all the mre than 2000 peple wh re waiting fr an interview get ne, s that they can becme members and pay membership fee, inclucing the cst fr the SI stamps. What can yu ffer Servas and what d yu hpe t achieve? D yu have any particular skills r expertise t ffer in this rle? My lng experience as a jurnalist has given me skills t analyse cmplex matters and finding ut what are the mst imprtant issues. My training as jurnalist and editr has als prvided me with the skill f being able t see and understand that there are usually many aspects t a prblem. In ther wrds: I have the diplmatic skill. I have experience f rganizing and running meetings bth as chair persn and mderatr. 3 P age

4 I'm used t cmmunicate, bth in writing and verbally. I have experience frm management and leadership bth in my prfessinal life, yuth sprts and Servas activities. In the first tw areas I have received frmal training. What d yu think the pririties fr Servas shuld be? T make it easy and safe fr travellers and hsts t cmmunicate via Internet. Make all cntacts with Servas as an rganizatin easy and as hassle-free as pssible. T further develp a visin and missin fr the rganisatin. This will give Servas a clear and unique prfile as a peace riented nnprfit and internatinal nn gvernmental rganizatin (ingo) with the special feature f ffering hspitality. T further create a Servas definitin f the term "peace". T increase the transparency f Servas wrkings, especially in the areas f ecnmy. All prspective members shuld als in the future be screened t ensure that they understand and subscribe t the principles f Servas prir t apprval as Servas members. In shrt: the interview/infrmative talk shuld be kept. T keep the use f a dcument r ther equally secure means t establish the credentials f a Servas traveller that must be presented immediately upn first meeting a Servas hst. But tday s Letter f Intrductin, LOI, shuld have anther shape, hpefully as an electrnic dcument (e-dcument) incrprated in a fully seamless digital cmmunicatin withut printed paper. These pririties aim at making sure that the members feel prud f being members f Servas and that they are cnvinced that they get great value fr their membership fees. The interview/infrmative talks must be mdernised, s that it becmes rutine t use alternative tecnicques like skype, mbile vide calls and ther mdern digital devices and sftware.. What ideas d yu have t help Servas mve frward? The ServasOnline System and the website n servas.rg will be Servas' engine. The visin, missin and value and principles in the SI Statutes will hpefully be Servas heart. Bth factrs are imprtant in rder t mve Servas frward as an rganisatin. Digitilisatin and mdernisatin is a key wrd. What is imprtant t yu abut Servas as a peace rganisatin? That Servas shuld prmte a wrld where peple can live in peaceful cexistence thanks t respect and understanding f different cultures, equality between men and wmen, differences in skin clur, idelgy and natinality. The essential tls fr prmting peace is the Servas prgram fr hspitality, cmmunicatin via Internet between members, the Servas activites in the United natins where we have cnsultative status and the peace prjects that are initiated and run by members grups. Even thugh it is my main gal t give Servas a distinctive presence n the Internet and increase the use f digital tls, it s imprtant t avid that Servas discriminates individual members and member grups that dn t have access t mdern means f cmmunicatins.
