5 An enviable village location and a lovely place to live Langcliffe is a small and picturesque village, situated close to the market town of Settle and the village of Giggleswick enjoying a bustling community with a church and Community Garden. The market town of Settle lies just over a mile to the south and provides a varied range of everyday shopping facilities including a Booths supermarket and a weekly market - the best of both worlds! It also offers a full range of commercial, educational and recreational amenities. Neighbouring Giggleswick, a well-deserved Conservation Area, is an extremely attractive village with many old and historic buildings. The village has a railway station (on the Leeds to Morecambe line), historic church and two pubs (the Black Horse Hotel and Hart's Head Hotel), Giggleswick School (which opens up many of its facilities to locals) and popular golf course (a 9 hole course nestling in a bowl at the foot of Giggleswick Scar), a limestone crag popular with climbers and a children's play park. The stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales is all around with magnificent fells and crags, perfect if you love any aspect of outdoor life. The area is exceptionally popular for walkers, cyclists and cavers with the Three Peaks (Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside) and White Scar Caves all close by. From here continue until reaching Langcliffe and after passing Langliffe Hall (with its high stone wall) on the right, take the second turning into the village on to New Street. Head into the centre of the village and The Old Vicarage can be found on the left hand side.
