The purpse f the seminar is t increase internatinal awareness f the imprtance f the early entry int frce f the Hng Kng Internatinal Cnventin fr the Safe and Envirnmentally Sund Recycling f Ships, 2009 (Hng Kng Cnventin). The seminar will have valuable inputs regarding hw t prmte sustainable ship recycling frm leading plicymakers and tp executives, and will discuss what is necessary t mve frward fr the early entry int frce f the Hng Kng Cnventin. Fr mre infrmatin, please refer t the attached draft prgramme. The seminar is pen t all IMO Members, intergvernmental and nn-gvernmental rganizatins. Experts in the field f ship recycling are particularly encuraged t attend. The seminar will be cnducted in English withut interpretatin. This year is the 10th anniversary f the HKC, which was adpted in 2009, and the expectatin fr the early entry int frce f the HKC has been significantly increased.
