Friends for Fun Safety and Knowledge The Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) is the world's largest single-marquee social organization for owners and riders of Honda Gold Wing/Valkyrie motorcycles -- and some would say, the world's largest family. Dedicated to our motto, Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge, GWRRA members enjoy the freedom of belonging to a not-for-profit, non-religious and nonpolitical organization. Founded in 1977, GWRRA has grown to more than 80,000 U.S., Canadian and international members in 53 foreign countries in just 32 years. Over 800 active Chapters are managed by 4,000 volunteer leaders working with members to foster safe, enjoyable riding while also working to improve the public image of motorcycling.

3 Ken & Jan Pedder Chapter Directors November turned out to be a fun month. Our after-gathering ride was a short poker run that took us to Charlie Brown s in Littlerock then east to the Devil s Punchbowl and finally west to Littlerock Dam. The planned route included a stop at the La Cabana restaurant in Acton but the ride took longer than planned, thus the final cards for the hand were drawn at our house where we had a hot dog and burger barbecue for the Chapter. Everyone had a great time, as far as I could tell, although there was some skepticism when it was determined that I won the poker hand. Trust me, no sleight of hand was involved. On the 13 th the ladies gathered at Russ & Lucy s house for Bunco which included a PJ party. Jan tells me everyone had a blast. Just this last, some of us rode in the Christmas Parade put on by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. We had one bike and four trikes that were decked out in Christmas motif. They were led by Randy and Sue in their Polar Express transformed golf cart which proudly displayed our CA1A banner. Randy and Sue s son, Kevin, dressed as an elf, rode on the back of the Polar Express and spent much of the time walking the route while handing out candy to the kids. The Chapter earned a second-place trophy for our entries. All the vehicles looked great and I m sure the kids along the route were impressed. Despite the high 40- degree temperature accompanied by 40 MPH wind everyone had a grand time. We would like to thank those who braved the cold and made our entry look fantastic. CA1A entered two parades this year and won a first or second place trophy each time. I m just saying!. Our thanks to those who participated in both events. 4 Russ Thome Ride Coordinator Hi All, s Poker ride turned out nice overall despite the fact that we could not complete it! It was a smooth pace, great weather & with no issues. We had 3 trikes and 2 bikes with 12 hands being played. First stop was Charlie Browns and a few of us picked up a couple things and drew our 2nd round of cards. Next stop was Devils Punch bowl, unfortunately, there was no one in inside at the time for us to look around, not to mention it was crowded and they had just had a medical issue with a hiker so there was a firetruck taking up a bunch of the lot. It is normally a nice visit, cool critters! Thankfully the hiker was O.K. 3rd card drawn had Ken in the lead (go figure) working on a flush. Stop 3 was supposed to be Littlerock Dam but as we pulled up to the gate, we were directed to turn around as the lake was closed! 4th card drawn and Ken was on a roll for a possible straight flush. Our 4th stop was supposed to be at La Cabana but the stops and time took longer than I had anticipated so we had to head back early to the Pedder s for lunch. 3 cards were drawn at Ken & Jan s and Ken took the pot of 60 bucks with 2 pair, A's and 4"s. It was a great turnout for lunch with about 20 members showing up. A big thanks to the hosts for great food and socializing!! Till next time, Russ Thome Ride Coordinator

8 Recipe of the Month Thick Spiced Italian Hot Chocolate Sprinkle the top of the whipped cream covered hot chocolate with desired toppings, such as: Chocolate shavings, caramel and coarse salt, crushed candy cane, etc. Serves: Serves 2 INGREDIENTS 3 T. Cocoa Powder 2½ T. Sugar ¾ T. Cornstarch ½ t. Cinnamon 1 tiny pinch Cayenne pepper 1 pinch salt 1½ C. Milk ½ t. Vanilla Whipped Cream, to top INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place the cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, cayenne, and salt in a small saucepan and whisk together well. 2. Add the vanilla and ¼ C. of the milk to the dry ingredients and whisk until combined and smooth(make sure to whisk around the sides of the pan to get all of the dry mixture incorporated). 3. Add the remaining milk and whisk in well. 4. Place the saucepan on medium heat and whisk constantly, for about 3-4 minutes or until mixture starts to boil and thicken. 5. Remove from heat and pour into two mugs. 6. Top with whipped cream and other desired toppings.

16 Mike Ridgway Hello Gold Wing riders. My name is Mike from Chapter Q, and I am here to help if I can. During our trip to Wing Ding in Montana two of our Wings broke down.
