1 Volume10, Issue 8 August 2018 Cen-Tex Tin Lizzies Enjoy Ice Cream at the Brunner Museum By John Anderson. It was a very hot day but it was cool in the Brunner Museum. There was plenty of ice cream and lot of great conversation going on inside. July 21 st was the annual Ice Cream Social and hosted by George Brunner. Several brave souls ventured out in in the heat to look at the splendid array of cars outside. More pictures on Page 6. Story continued on Page 5

2 Band Chatter Page 2 MINUTES OF THE July 2018 MEETING By Secretary Joyce Shierlow August At 7pm on July 17, 2018 President of the Cen Tex Tin Lizzies Robert Norberg called the meeting to order. There were 25 members and no guests present. New member Alan Napier was welcomed.. He lives in Belton, Tx. and has a 1925 Model T doctors Coupe. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as printed in the Band Chatter. Jan Donnell gave the Treasurer's report stating that there is a decent bank balance George Brunner made a motion to accept the report as given and Bob Ross seconded the motion. Motion carried. Karen Ross gave the Wellness report stating that there were no reports of illness or injuries by the membership. Randy Brown said that there were two requests to sell Model T on the web page. Tom Romberg bought Nick Unger's Model T depot hack. Several members drove their Model T's in the Martindale July 4 th parade. There were 10 Model T's and 1 Cadillac. George Brunner is hosting the ice cream social at his home again this year. Directions to his home are: Go west on Hwy 290 through Oak Hill to Nutty Brown Road and turn left, go to Signal Hill Road ant turn left again, go to the 4 th house on the left and enter at the gate. TFOT of San Antonio will not be having their car show and tour this year. The Dr. Pound House in Dripping Springs will be open on Sept.22, 2018 Joe Pinnelli, Debbie Cartwright and Jeff Treadwell will host the annual Christmas Party on the first Saturday in December. More information to come. Show and Tell: Joe Pinnelli brought a bumper for a you name it car. It was excavated from a concrete curb at one of his job sites It was being used as rebar from who knows when. Bob Ross brought photos of Model T's. Vic Donnell brought license plate toppers. Joe won the prize for best Show and Tell. Break for dessert. Jan Donnell won the 50/50 drawing. Bill Stevens had the program and gave information on the Technology of the Model T Coil. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM

3 Band Chatter Page3 August 2018 Hello Tin Lizzies,. Many thanks to George Brunner for inviting us to the ice cream social last month. Great turnout from both clubs! Maybe we ll get invited again next year. The ice cream was not homemade, but it was still good, thanks again George. A week after the ice cream social we had our mission tour hosted by the San Antonio Model T club. We were hoping to get some attendance but perhaps it was a bit of a ride and a bit too early to tour San Antonio. Only two Model Ts from our club participated; thank you John & Sue for joining us that day. We met Hugh and the San Antonio clan early and spent half the day cruising around several of the missions. We even met an all women Jeep club called the She-Devils. It was nice to see other clubs touring the missions as well. Only two months to go before we head out to the Model T party in Schulenburg TX. If you are joining us, please don t forget to get your applications & reservations in, it s going to be full event. So far we have two hotels assigned for those days. Till next month Rob Norberg
