1 Westlake Yachting Club On the Black River Lorain, Ohio Newsletter May 2010 Commodore Burt Bruehler ANNOUNCEMENTS MEETING REMINDER WYC Club Meeting May 12 at 7:00 PM Location: Wheelhouse Things are looking up for spring, boats are starting to be uncovered and starting to shine. The wheelhouse is also shining thanks to help from members who gave their time and a lot of elbow grease. Don t forget the Grand Opening is April 30 th. The first big event of the season is the steak fry May 22, we hope to have a good crowd enjoying the festivities. Here s to a safe and fun filled boating season. The Monthly meetings are open to every member of Westlake Yachting Club. All members are encouraged to attend Officers & Trustee s Commodore: Burt Bruehler Vice Commodore Kenneth Klein As we work our way through the unpredictable spring weather I see more and more boats being uncovered and cleaned, slips being filled and of course some spectacular fishing stories from last year being shared. I hear that some of those stories may even be true What do you think??? V/Commodore: R/Commodore: Treasurer: Kenneth Klein Robert Hilko The committees have been meeting and preparing this years events and activities and the Wheelhouse has had many much needed equipment repairs along with a little paint and of course as requested, the salad bar is back. Secretary: Trustee s: Norman Heppner Pat Swagger John Lively Robert Coffman Jim Sigman The annual Wheelhouse Pre-Opening cleanup went well. Many of the regulars came to clean and I am thrilled to say that we had some new faces working diligently to get everything ready. Thanks to all who attended. Those of you who could not make it missed out on a very productive and enjoyable day. It was a great way to start off the season. On another note, at the last Club meeting we had a very good showing with several new faces with good discussions and ideas from all. Made my day!!! Let s keep that up. We need everyone to Be Involved and participate in the WYC. I guess that all means that we are ready for summer!!! YeeeHaaaw The 2010 Wheelhouse Grand Opening Funfest will be on Friday April 30th featuring Tim Blake. Please check the WYC Calendar

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Huron Boat Cruise is set for June 11-12, at Huron and Kelly s Island is confirmed for July 16-17, The final cruise is August th at Put-in-Bay.
