These funding cmmitments fllw the pre-budget annuncement f $225 millin t redevelp Etihad Stadium s Sprts and Entertainment Precinct, guaranteeing the AFL Grand Final will be held at the MCG until 2057, and mre AFL cntent fr Geelng s Kardinia Park and Ballarat s Eureka Stadium. This investment will help grw bth dmestic ferry and cruise ship peratins in Victria. $4 millin t intrduce new authrised ticketing fficers wh will be able t fine scalpers wh target declared majr events. $2 millin t help Reginal Turism Bards and Cuncils grw their lcal ecnmies and lcal jbs, by attracting new visitrs and new events thrugh the Reginal Events and Innvatin Fund. $153 millin fr Victria's share f the Geelng City Deal, funding majr visitr and turism attractin initiatives, such as the Shipwreck Cast Masterplan and develpment f the Geelng Cnventin and Exhibitin Centre. $2 millin fr the Falls t Htham Icnic Trail. The latest cmbined turism survey results shw that ttal turism spend in Victria has experienced grwth f 29.1 per cent since 2014, adding an additinal $6 billin in turism expenditure acrss the state. As at December 2017, the ttal number f visitrs (including dmestic daytrip, dmestic and internatinal vernight) t Victria was 78.1 millin, an increase f 19.5 per cent since Turism emplyment has grwn by 17.3 per cent since t 214,500 jbs, equating t an additinal 31,600 jbs in the turism sectr fr Victrians in the perid. Visitr Ecnmy: Victria s Future Jbs Slutin The State Budget prvides $51.1 millin t attract thusands mre visitrs frm interstate and verseas, as part f Visit Victria s wrk t grw visitr spending t $36.5 billin every year by 2025, and create thusands f lcal jbs. This includes $21.8 millin ver tw years t bring mre f the wrld s biggest cnferences t the state. This includes:

The Victrian Gvernment wrks clsely with Visit Victria t deliver n the Visitr Ecnmy Strategy released in 2016, with the aim t increase visitr spending t $36.5 billin and create mre than 320,000 jbs by Victria is well n track t achieving these ambitius targets with results shwing that since 2014 ttal visitr expenditure has increased by 29.1 per cent t $26.4 billin in the year ending December Mre than 31,600 new jbs in the turism sectr have been created since , an increase f 17.3 per cent t 214,500 jbs. Since its establishment n 1 July 2016, Visit Victria has successfully added 57 majr events, mre than 320 business events, prvided funding fr mre than 130 reginal events, delivered a dedicated reginal marketing campaign, significantly expanded ur internatinal presence and delivered the first interstate and internatinal marketing campaigns in six years. Planning wrks fr Statin Pier The State Budget will prvide $5.8 millin fr Prt Melburne s Statin Pier t enable strategic planning and wrks t supprt the visin fr bth dmestic ferry and cruise ship peratins in Victria, which will enable necessary upgrades fr ur grwing cruise ship industry. The cruise ship sectr is a rapidly grwing turism market fr Victria, with the number f cruise ships visiting Victria tripling frm 33 in t 111 in Cruise related expenditure in Victria in was estimated at $196.5 millin. The cruise sectr is als seeing the intrductin f prgressively larger ships, which can pse a challenge fr existing facilities. The Victrian Gvernment is investigating ptins t address cruise ship access issues at Statin Pier. Tackling ticket scalping at Victria s majr events The State Budget will prvide $4 millin t intrduce new authrised ticketing fficers wh will be able t fine scalpers wh target declared majr events. The Victrian Gvernment is intrducing legislatin t better prtect fans frm ticket scalpers. Cnsumers are fed up with the practice f ticket scalping preventing them frm attending majr events by pricing them ut f the market, r causing them t pay exrbitant prices t attend shws. The Majr Events Legislatin Amendment (Ticket Scalping and Other Matters) Bill 2017 aims t regulate the secndary ticket market t ensure it perates in the interests f fans by prviding fr increased accessibility and transparency, and supprts the lng-term develpment f the live events and creative industries, in particular music and theatre. Grwing Victria s reginal visitr ecnmies The State Budget will prvide $2 millin fr a new expanded Reginal Events and Innvatin Fund (REIF) which will assist Reginal Turism Bards (RTBs) and reginal

3 cuncils t plan, develp and identify new events and initiatives acrss reginal Victria t grw reginal visitr ecnmies. The $21.8 millin investment t attract mre business events t Victria will include $800,000 ver 2 years t Business Events Victria t bring mre cnferences t reginal Victria. Funding will be als prvided t imprve the enjyment f Victria s turism railway infrastructure. This initiative will increase accessibility and imprve the visitr experience at Puffing Billy. $2 millin fr the Falls t Htham Icnic Trail. $760,000 t establish the Crss Brder Cmmissin, t streamline regulatry and licencing requirements and reduce barriers t service Victria s brder cmmunities. $300,000 t develp a business case fr an arts trail thrugh existing sil arts installatins in the Mallee. $500,000 fr a business case fr the Grampians Cycling Plan. $500,000 t develp the Murray River Adventure Trail, a multi-sprt adventure trail alng the length f the Murray. Alngside this, ther investments in turism and reginal prmtin include: $153 millin fr Victria's share f the Geelng City Deal, funding majr visitr and turism attractin initiatives, such as the Shipwreck Cast Masterplan and develpment f the Geelng Cnventin and Exhibitin Centre; $500,000 fr business cases fr the Grampians Cycling Plan; $ t develp the Murray River Adventure Trail; and $ fr a business case t link sil arts installatins in the Mallee and Wimmera regins. 30 years f AFL Games and 3 years f Melburne Victry games at Kardinia Park, Geelng 10 years f AFL Games fr Eureka Stadium, Ballarat. $11millin t build extra telecmmunicatins infrastructure and imprve mbile cverage in blackspt areas acrss reginal Victria Since 2014, the Victrian Gvernment has supprted ver 130 reginal events thrugh the $20 millin Reginal Events Fund that have brught a steady stream f visitrs and bsted the reginal ecnmy in Victria. The latest Natinal Visitr Survey shws reginal Victria experienced strng year-n-year grwth in dmestic spend, visitrs and nights, with spend up by 15.0 per cent t $5.9 billin, visitrs up by 14.4 per cent t 16.0 millin and nights up by 12.7 per cent t 45.0 millin, all well ahead f the natinal reginal average grwth rates. Victria s regins als experienced strng year-n-year grwth in internatinal spend, vernight stays and visitatin, with ver 530,000 internatinal visitrs spending $531 millin in the year ending December an increase f 9.8 per cent in internatinal spend in ur reginal turism htspts since December last year. Other State Budget cmmitments t benefit Victria s visitr ecnmy Payrll Tax refrm The Andrews Gvernment will reduce the reginal payrll tax rate t 2.425%, half f the metrplitan rate This builds n the 25% cut cntained in last year s Budget and it means that reginal Victria has the lwest payrll tax rate in the natin.

4 This initiative is estimated t benefit arund 4000 businesses in reginal Victria- including turism businesses. Reginal Develpment The Andrews Labr Gvernment is delivering $760 millin fr lcal pririties identified by ur Reginal Partnerships. This includes $153.2 millin twards ur share f the Geelng City Deal t: build a Cnventin Centre; stage 2 f the Shipwreck Cast Masterplan and; revitalise central Geelng. The Geelng Cnventin and Exhibitin Centre will have as a minimum, a 1,000-seat plenary hall and 3,700 square metres f multipurpse space cnfigured t incrprate an exhibitin hall, breakut rms and banquet rm. Shipwreck Cast - an internatinal icn and a key turism asset t Australia, attracting well ver tw millin travellers each year. That s why the Gvernment will deliver the next stage f the Shipwreck Cast Masterplan which includes a Glenample Visitr Experience Centre, a shuttle service between Glenample t Lch Ard, a new beach stairs experience at Gibsn Steps, delivery f a key sectin f the 12 Apstles Trail and a new visitr infrastructure in Prt Campbell and Princetwn The investment will als cntinue wrk n the Revitalising Central Geelng Actin Plan Malp Street Green Spine Prject, t build a landmark linear park cnnecting a redevelped Geelng Statin precinct, Jhnstne Park and the Arts Precinct t Geelng s retail cre, and ultimately t Eastern Park. Released in 2016, the Revitalising Central Geelng Actin Plan sets ut the Andrews Labr Gvernment s plan t generate change in central Geelng ver the next 10 years, with a lng-term aim t reinvigrate the verall Geelng ecnmy. Creative Industries Museums Victria, the Geelng Perfrming Arts Centre and prgrams at the Natinal Gallery f Victria will share in $34.8 millin t maintain their cllectins fr generatins f Victrians t cme. Our wrld class perfrming arts rganisatins will be able t develp links with internatinal institutins and bring better shws t Victrian stages with $2.9 millin t hld the Australian Perfrming Arts Market in Melburne frm 2019 t A $31.6 millin investment will transfrm ACMI, with the biggest redevelpment in its 16- year histry t imprve the visitr experience, supprt cutting-edge technlgy and expand educatinal prgrams fr yung creatives. The prject will create arund 100 cnstructin jbs and increase visitrs by 50 per cent t arund tw millin per year. The Labr Gvernment is als supprting ur lcal screen industry with a $8.4 millin investment in film and televisin prductin t secure jbs fr mre than 11,000 Victrians wrking in the industry, and build n the strength f ur grwing games sectr. Public Transprt Andrews Labr Gvernment has kick-started wrk fr a high-speed rail link between Geelng and Melburne, with detailed planning wrk and technical investigatins t determine a preferred ptin set t begin. The Victrian Budget 2018/19 will include $50 millin fr detailed investigatins f fast rail infrastructure upgrades, csts and train requirements.

Parks Victria $70.6 millin t Parks Victria which will secure the benefits f parks fr all Victrians. $13 millin fr Shrine t Sea cncept, which links the Dmain Gardens and Prt Phillip Bay, featuring a bulevard amenity thrugh enhanced tree planting and walking and cycling recnfiguratin thrugh the precinct. $3 millin fr the Natinal Sprts Centre and Melburne Cable Park infrastructure upgrades. $2.1 millin fr Imprving the Olinda Precinct which will transfrm the frmer Olinda Glf Curse int 34 hectares f cmmunity parklands including; a nature-based play space, sprts val, walking trails, picnic facilities upgraded entry and car park. $2 millin fr new trails fr suburban Melburne. This will include the cnstructin f pririty trails frm the Nrthern Reginal Trails Strategy and implementatin f prjects frm the sn-t-be-released Eastern Reginal Trails Strategy. $1.6 millin t imprve Parks Victria s bking system and increase discunts t shulder and ff-peak camping t senirs, students and cncessin card hlders. $1 millin t develp a business case fr a Werribee Open Range Z expansin. Rad, Jetty and Pier Investments Almst $1 billin t upgrade and repair Victria s reginal rads including: upgrades t majr highways including the Calder Highway, Princes Hwy West, which lead int key turism regins. There is als funding fr Munt Dandenng Turist Rad upgrades. The State Gvernment is imprving Victria s jetties, piers and bat ramps thrugh a $5.2 millin funding bst fr these ppular facilities. The funding, in additin t the current Bating Safety Facilities Prgram, will g t existing facilities requiring critical repairs t damaged infrastructure as well as new prjects and planning fr new infrastructure. Our jetties and piers play a majr rle acrss ur state s visitr ecnmies, particularly the regins. Skills and Educatin Frm January 1, 2019, students wh are eligible fr Victrian Gvernment subsidised training will nt pay curse tuitin fees in 30 pririty curses, and 18 apprenticeship pathway curses when cmpleted at TAFE. Included in the 30-pririty curse list is the Certificate III in Hspitality. Free TAFE fr Pririty Curses will reduce the financial barrier fr students wanting t train in curses that lead t the ccupatins that are needed mst by emplyers in the Victrian Ecnmy. $304 millin t create thusands f new TAFE and training paces s mre Victrians can access training. $120 millin t upgrade three TAFE facilities and prvide better facilities fr students in Bendig, Mrewell and Sale.
