3 What is IPPS? IPPS is The International Panel Products Symposium and is an annual event attracting presenters and delegates from all over the world. It was founded in 1986 to provide a symposium where high quality leading edge research could be presented to the panel products industry. It covers areas such as raw material preparation and procurement, material handling, resins and additives, manufacturing processes, market analysis, value added processes, environmental issues and global trends. 6 Sponsorship Information The name of conference in 2007 will change from, The European Panel Product Symposium (EPPS) to, The International Panel Products Symposium (IPPS), to reflect the increasingly global industry within which we work. After 10 years in Llandudno we are moving the event to Cardiff, the fastest growing capital in Europe.

7 With its own airport and the railway station within a few minutes walk from the venue we believe Cardiff offers delegates greater travel opportunities. In 2006 the 10 th anniversary of EPPS we attracted speakers and delegates from over 20 different countries.

9 General Sponsorship This is required before you can sponsor one of the other events/items such as a drinks reception, meals, delegate bag etc. General sponsorship gives your company lots of exposure with this high quality event.

11 General Sponsorship Cont. Your Company logo will be displayed on all conference advertising, banners, press releases, mail shots, the BC website and on the front cover of the published proceedings. You will also be entitled to put your own company banner on display in the Conferencing room. Cost: 1000

13 Conference Bags This is a very prestigious item to sponsor. You can select the bag design, or we will select one for you. We then have your company logo printed onto the bag along with the symposium title and the BC logo. This bag is then given to all delegates attending the symposium and thus is distributed world wide! Cost: General sponsorship (as described above) plus the cost of the bag selected and the printing option. The price depends upon the style of bag chosen, print options and the number of bags purchased. We ask for a minimum of 1000 to sponsor this item, in addition to the 1000 General sponsorship. 15 Pre-registration Drinks Tuesday 16 October 2007 The first event of the symposium, welcoming delegates, distributing conference materials and setting the scene. In the past we have served drinks, nibbles and have had live musical accompaniment. It is a very friendly, informal event where delegates get to network, catchup with old colleagues and making new contacts. The event usually last approximately 2 hours with delegates dispersing afterwards to make their own dinner arrangements. What you get: In addition to the exposure offered by the general sponsorship your company logo will appear within the provisional programme (mailed to over 2000 addresses and electronically mailed to a database of over 5000). You are free to put as much or as little publicity about your own company out during the evening. Cost: 1000 General + cost of event

16 Poster / Wine reception. Wednesday 17 October This event takes place after the last presentation of the day. Delegates have the opportunity to look at the posters on display, visit the trade stands and network with other delegates. Previous years wine and canapés have been served. The event usually lasts approximately 2 hours. What you get: Your company logo will appear within the provisional programme (mailed to over 2000 addresses and electronically mailed to a database of over 5000). You are free to put as much or as little publicity about your own company out during the evening. Cost: The price will vary depending on the wine and canapés served Cost: 1000 General + cost of event (minimum 1000).

17 Gala Evening Pre-dinner drinks Thursday 18 October Served prior to the Gala dinner. The wine reception this year will be held in the Impressionist Galleries of the Cardiff Art Gallery and Museum. A stunning setting and one guaranteed to leave a lasting impression with our delegates! The event will last approximately 1 hour with delegates then going forward into the Grand Hall for dinner. What you get. In addition to the general sponsorship your company logo will appear in the provisional programme (mailed to over 2000 addresses and electronically mailed to a database of over 5000). You are free to put as much or as little publicity about your own company out during the evening. Cost: 1000 General + cost of drinks (minimum 1000)

19 Gala Evening - Dinner Thursday 18 October The Grand Hall at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff will be set with banqueting tables after the public have left. Delegates are free to wonder the corridors and soak up the atmosphere, rounded off by a delicious meal served by Digby Trout Caterers.

21 Lunches Wednesday, Thursday, Friday There are opportunities to sponsor three lunches during the symposium. All offer valuable networking opportunities for delegates. What you get. 22 USB Memory Stick Like the delegate bags only one sponsor is allowed to sponsor the memory stick. The stick comes down loaded with a copy of the proceedings and is given to all delegates. 25 Description of Event in 2007 This year, 2007 we are moving the symposium to Cardiff and changing the name from the European Panel Products Symposium (EPPS) to the International Panel Products Symposium (IPPS) The first call for papers has already been sent out (please see the flyer).

26 IPPS has moved to Cardiff the fastest growing capital in Europe.

27 While the venue and city may have changed we plan to keep the winning format and friendly approach. The organising team at BC will be the same familiar faces Our aim is to recreate a relaxed and friendly feel whilst maximising network opportunities and without compromising on the technical presentations.

28 Our registration system has been upgraded so delegates will be able to pay on line via our web shop. The Angel Hotel where the symposium will be held is one of the premier hotels in Cardiff and is centrally located with easy access to the train station and a short half hour ride to Cardiff airport. BC has been asked to help organise the third European Conference on Wood Modification (ECWM3) which will be held at the same venue on the 15th and 16th October prior to IPPS. With BC organising back to back conferences on related themes delegates have the opportunity to maximise their visit and attend both conferences.

32 Description of EPPS 2006 The 10th European Panel Products Symposium was held in Llandudno, UK, between the 11 th and 13 th October Over 100 delegates from 20 different countries attended the event representing manufacturers, suppliers and end users as well as leading academic researchers in the field.

36 Content Five sessions were held, with 25 international speakers presenting papers in the following areas: Fundamental Studies, Resin and Emissions, Raw Material Preparation, The Built Environment and Process Control Technologies.

38 Networking A gala dinner was organised within the walls of Beaumaris Castle to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the symposium in Delegates were transported from Llandudno to Beaumaris via Mona for the opening of the new Technology Transfer Centre. The event was a great success providing good networking opportunities for delegates.
