2 BPW NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2018 Business and Professional Women Australia is a national network of lively talented and interesting business or professional women who champion the right of women to participate fully at all levels of the workforce, in all business sectors and across all professions. We make real differences in women's lives by creating awareness, leading debate and driving change. And we network, learn and have fun along the way. Our Time to Rise... The BPW National Conference aims to inspire women, build relationships, provide ways women can gain new perspectives and discuss issues impacting women right now and in the future. Under the theme of the conference, plenaries, panels and workshops will focus on empowered leadership, entrepreneurism and embracing opportunity. This year we've added a full day Women's Business Expo to showcase, and develop the potential, of our business-owner members and other women in the region.

The Conference s purpose is to promote professional development, leadership potential and personal growth, while conducting the business of BPW. Last year marked the 70th anniversary of BPW in Australia and nation-wide celebrations commemorated BPW as the first organisation to dedicate itself to the issues of working women and to women's economic independence, which from 1927 spread across the cities and regional areas of Australia. Women who join also become members of BPW International and many take their places at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women held annually in New York, participate in BPW International women's economic empowerment projects or attend international conferences to learn, expand their networks and positively influence the lives of women worldwide. This year, our National Conference program has expanded to include a Women's Business Expo providing more opportunities for members and other women to upskill at the business workshops or showcase at the Expo.
