Staff will transprt it t the range. Failure t cmply will result in dismissal frm camp. Persnal Identificatin and Individual Check-In/Check-Out The security and safety f the yuth in ur charge is an extremely heavy respnsibility. We must always insure that they are prtected frm unauthrized and unwarranted expsures, at the same time prviding the freedm that is s essential t their maturing prcess. With this as ur gal, the fllwing prcedures apply: 1. 1) Staff must wear their Staff ID where it is visible at all times. 1. 2) All campers are issued a clred wrist band fr identificatin. 1. 3) Visitrs must check in at the Camp Office, sign the Visitr s Lg and wear a visitr s wrist band. 1. 4) Anyne withut prper camp identificatin must reprt t the camp ffice immediately. T ensure that the Scut s guardian authrizes the persn checking a Scut ut f camp, the unit leader must have a list f authrized persns (BSA Health & Medical Recrd part A). Scuts permanently leaving camp befre the end f the sessin must have a written release ("Scut Leaving frm Camp Early Reprt") signed by the parent/guardian and unit leader and presented t the Camp Clerk. Frms are available at the camp ffice. Parking Regulatins and Vehicle Use Natinal camping plicies clearly state that private vehicles are nly t be parked in the parking lt. Rads in camp will be restricted t service vehicles. Abslutely n ne is allwed t ride in the bed f a truck r n the back/frnt f a trailer r car. Handicapped-accessible parking is available in the main parking lt at camp. Tbacc and Alchl Plicy N tbacc use f any kind is allwed in any camp structure, including tents. Smking is t take place nly in psted designated smking areas and never in the presence f minr children. N minrs are allwed in the smking area. Alchl is NOT allwed at camp. 19 Pressurized Aersl Cans and Pumps Aersl cans are nt allwed in camp. Aersls remve waterprfing when used in r near tents and are dangerus near fires. Pumps are nt recmmended being used near tents, as they can als remve waterprfing. When Getting Ready t Leave at the End f Camp Make sure campsite is clean, and nthing left behind. If anything was lst, check the lst and fund area befre leaving. Turn in the camp survey frm. Return any items in the same cnditin as checked ut frm the Camp Quartermaster. Sign ut f camp n the camper lg just befre leaving. Campfires and Ash Ceremny At least ne campfire is held at each type f camp. At the first campfire f the Cub Scut event, campers may participate by adding ashes frm a past campfire t the fire when instructed t d s. After the ashes have cled, they are stirred tgether and put int cntainers s that each Scut receives a cntainer f cled ashes t mingle with a future campfire. If yur Scut still has his ashes frm previus years, have him bring the ashes t add this year. Then save the ashes frm this year s campfire t add t next year s fire t cntinue this traditin. Brief Histry and Meaning f the Ash Ceremny Legend has it that when Lrd Baden-Pwell served in the British Army, he wuld always take a small amunt f cl ashes frm the campfire and then spread thse ashes int the next campfire as part f its pening. He carried this traditin int Scuting. As early as 1907, this traditin f sharing campfire ashes began arund a Scuting campfire. After the campfire was ver and ashes were cl, Scuts and Scuters tk sme ashes as a mement f the gd times and brtherhd shared under the stars. At the next campfire visited by these Scuts, their ashes were added t the flames f the campfire and stirred tgether when the ashes were cl. Each camper was given a Package f ashes t add t their next campfire, and s it cntinues t this day arund the wrld. The jining f the ashes with the campfire flames f the new fire, symblize the cmmunity f Scuting s ideals and the brtherhd between fellw Scuters arund the wrld. Many grups lg the dates and lcatins where the mingled ashes started and traveled. DIRECTIONS TO HOWARD H.
