TED WILLIAMS A southern California native, Ted came to Santa Rosa to work for K-Love Radio after a career in radio broadcasting in Ventura. He is currently with POSITIVE HIT RADIO, a youth oriented station which is new (June '92) to Santa Rosa. The format plays music kids like to hear, but with positive lyrics. MYSTERY ROTARIAN by Loretta Slyh This weeks rotarian was born in Stockholm Sweden and lived in Stockholm Barcelona, Bjuv, Amal and Cork before discovering Santa Rosa. Dad is an entrepreneur, and was a member of Rotary or 18 years in Sweden and Ireland. Favorite hobby is motorcycling. Who is this worldly rotarian?

4 RECOGNITION CORNER... by Pat Solar A HOLIDAY CELEBRATION... Our usual Thursday morning meeting on December 17 will be held at Ristorante Siena on Tuesday evening, December 15th. You will have a choice of three entrees and there will be a special menu for the kids. Holiday enter- tainment will be provided by the Santa Rosa Children's Choir. FOUR-YEAR PERFECT ATTENDANCE... Sieve Owles v! presented with his 4-year perfect attendance rocker. Great work, Steve! A NEW FACE... Marilyn Pratt and Steve Olsen welcomed our newest club member, Riki Intner, by giving her a rotary pin and direct- on,'. Riki is a professional marriage and family counselor. PAUL HARRIS... Mike Yaeger presented Buster Finch with his Paul Harris Fellow. Way to go Buster! This is quite an accomplishment given the fact that Buster is still a "red badge". JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT RECEIVES SI, Steve Davis presented Judy Talley from Junior Achievement of the Redwood Empire with a SI.000 donation. The monies will be used to help prevent kids at risk from dropping out of school. THE "KDMG-SLEY" IS BACK!... Bob Kingsley was warmiy welcomed back from his recent accident and was promptly fined Jeanne's birthday. Bob thanked all that assisted he and his wife during his recuperation. Bob also has a new member in his family, a new Mercedez. President Dave levied fines of S20.00, which Bob upped to S1000 for the club's Community Service Fund, with the stipulation that John Watson be able to select the charity in memory of his wife, Wanda. WANDERING ROTARIANS... Ola! Dave and Shauna Lorenzen have recently returned from a quick trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Carol Estes was quick to'fine President Dave S for having such a good time. "LUCKY" STRIKES AGAIN,.. The Foundation Raffle became luck}' Nancy Aita's latest win! She received a sun dial planter, donated by the Gualala Club. Mike Sass won a gift basket from the Sebastopol Club. Gary Bayless won a gift certificate for dinner aboard the Hornblower Yacht. John Watson won 1/2 case of wine and 1/2 ' fe of champagne, also donated by the Sebastopol Club. All were fined $10.00, except for John who paid $ MYSTERY ROTARIAN... Both Al Abramson and Drew Turner paid SI.00 for not knowing the identity of this week's mystery Rotarian. Jeff Young.

12 RECOGNITION CORNER... by Pat Solar NEWEST CLUB MEMBER... Peter Treleaven and Steve Olsen introduced the newest member to our club, Carl Jacobsen. Carl was_ presented with his "mug book", red badge and a framed "Object of Rotary. Carl, in his words, is returning to his favorite town and looks forward to becoming an active, participati. member. PEOPLE WHO "C.A.R.E."... Steve Davis presented Bob Cassidy from Child Abuse Recovery with a $ donation. Bob said this was the largest single donation his organization has received. The funds will be used to assist 18 families, or possibly more, in their parent/child interface program. Each family will be made aware that additional contributions have been made on their behalf by the Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary. A WHITE SPORT COAT AND A PINK CARNATION... Phil Hulen announced the date of the upcoming Valentine Party will be held on Saturday, February 13th. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend! CUFFED!?!... Mike Sass will never again forget the basket he won from the Foundation Dinner Raffle now that President Daua^ handcuffed it to him. It may still be attached unless he negotiated settlement with Sergeant ofarms, Al Abramson. SANTA CLAUS, ALIAS, ST. NICK... Russ Lockner has arranged for a special guest on our December 24th meeting to speak on the history of Santa Claus and how his characterization came to be. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU... Russ Lockner was recognized for his birthday this coming Sunday for which he paid the $10.00 recognition fine. Riki Intner also paid a $10.00 fine for her husband's birthday which fell on December 8th. "LUCKY" TURNER?... Drew and Pat Turner recently attended a Leadership Santa Rosa gathering and walked away with the biggest prize package. For his great winnings Drew paid a $20.00 recognition fine. ^c1 A LITTLE, TOO LATE... Bruce Reyes was fined $10.00 for not being present to introduce his guest at the beginning of the meeting*" ROAMING ROTARIANS... Peter Treleaven paid a $20.00 fine for a "whoosh and swoosh" Colorado weekend. Steve Owles also paid a $20.00 for his theater travels in New York. Bob Dunn upped his $20.00 traveling fine to England to $50.00 in recognition of his new grandson, born this past Saturday. MYSTERY ROTARIAN?... RblfWessman was this week's mystery guest.

13 GIFT GIVING MONTH SKI TRIP Skiing, the weekend of January 22-24, could be a fun social event for the whole family (that does include the kids!) For those non-skiers, playing in the snow or visiting the casinos nearby can also be fun. In any case, come join us! The Place: Pacifica Lodge, South Lake Tahoe (two blocks from the casinos and five miles from Heavenly Valley. ^The Dates: January (This weekend does NOT conflict with football playoffs (the Super Bowl is Jan 31!) The Cost: Rooms are $60 a night for Friday/Saturday. If you decided to go up Thursday, it's $50. Bonus: If we book 10 or more rooms, there is a 10% discount. We can be very proud of: Ken Coker, Vicki Lockner, John W/atson, Steve Davis, Rigs Lockner, Stan Walker, Bruce Reyes, Carol Estes, Drew Turner, Bob Kingsley, Phil Hulen, Del Raby, Pat Solar, Archie Julian, Dan Lambert, Nancie Mika, Steve Owles and Gary Doolittle for their efforts on our holiday volunteer programs. NEW WHEELS.. John Watson is sporting a new (for him), a Pontiac SSEI; (only his 21st car from his friend at GM). $40 went towards John's Pai~ Harris. Thanks, John. BUSINESS MEETING... 21 GIFT GIVING MONTH HELP WANTED Saturday January 23, 1993 Special Olympics Bowlathon Boulevard Bowl in Petaluma Need 30 people to help the special Olympians enjoy themselves. This means encouragement, cheering their success and assisting any of their needs. The Sunrise Rotary Club if financially supporting this project for up to $1400 along with the Petaluma Valley Club.
