1 Issue #55 June 2012 Message from Kelly & Susan The unofficial start of summer arrived on Memorial Day weekend and based on the attendance at Erie s first Downtown Bike Night and Buffalo Wild Wings first Wild Wednesday Bike Night of the summer, it appears that local area bikers are embracing the arrival of summer in our community. Construction on our new dealership (3712 West 12 th Street one mile east of Erie International Airport) is progressing very well with only 28 days remaining before we begin moving into our much larger new home. We can tell you that between very strong bike sales, ever increasing motorcycle events, and preparation for the move, we believe that this will be the most memorable summer in our history! This summer, Harley-Davidson of Erie is proud to sponsor the following motorcycle events in our community: Roar on the Shore, Downtown Bike Nights and Wild Wednesday Bike Nights and we encourage all of our friends and customers to join us in supporting these great events which help promote both our community and the biker lifestyle. Well, make plans to join the Erie Harley Owners Group (HOG) on June 1 & 2 as they escort an American Flag that is being transported across the country via Harley- Davidson dealerships. The first ride will be on Friday, June 1st and they will travel to Western Reserve Harley -Davidson (Mentor, OH) to pick up the flag afterwards there will be a FREE lunch for all ride participants. On Saturday, June 2 nd the Erie HOG chapter will carry the flag to Harley- Davidson of Jamestown.

6 Harley-Davidson World Ride Event - June th Last year, Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members from around the world and fellow motorcycle enthusiasts rode over ten million miles during the 3 rd Annual Million Mile Monday event. This year, HOG has changed the name of the event to World Ride and expanded it to two days! On Sunday, June 24 th join us for a ride from our dealership to the Lodge at Geneva-onthe-Lake, Ohio for brunch. We will depart the dealership at 9:00 a.m. sharp. HOG members (and non-members) will be able to record the miles they ride towards this year s total mileage count. Check back for more details later this month.

7 5 th Annual Michael Crotty Memorial Ride June 30 th Ride with us from Harley-Davidson of Erie on Saturday, June 30 th as we travel to the 5 th Annual Michael Crotty Memorial Ride in Lawrence Park. We will depart the dealership at 10:00 for the ride to the Lawrence Park Fire Department. For more information about this

9 FROM THE DIRECTOR The HOG Group will be sponsoring the 20 th Annual MDA Poker Run. The ride will be held on June 10th beginning at 10am at H-D Erie. The event will end at Sparrow Pond Campground on Rt. 19 after a scenic 120 mile ride. It s never too late to donate an item or volunteer to help. The event is bigger than ever and in order to make it a success we need the help of the membership. If you haven t signed up to volunteer or you would like to donate something, you can contact Greg Wolz at gwmusik@hotmail.com or drop me a note at hogrider@roadrunner.com. We ll be holding our volunteer meeting at The Cab on West Ridge Rd on June 5th at 7:30 pm or so (right after the monthly meeting). Come on out and volunteer.
