Early career was 17 years as a Highway Patrolperson. Worked the riots in Watts and the student demonstrations at UC Berkeley in the 1960's. For "real" fun, our Rotarian ^md spouse enjoy frequent trips in their ^lotor home and charter yachts rffi to sail the San Juan Islands. ^F* Who is this person that ^ walks on the wild side?
4 RECOGNITION CORNER... by Pat Solar NEW BLUE BADGER... Peter Treleaven ceremoniously welcomed "Buster" Finch as an active member of Sunrise Rotary by replacing his red badge with a blue one. Congratulations, Buster! HAPPY BIRTHDAY... Cathy Vyenielo's husband, Bill, celebrated a birthday on December 28th. To mark the event, Cathy paid the customary $10.00 recognition fine. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY... Carl and Judy Jacobson recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on January 2nd with a 9-day ski trip to the Sierra Summit. The trip was somewhat business given that both Carl and Judy serve in the ski patrol, with Judy also doing her part in the first aid room. For the work/pleasure trip/anniversary celebration, Carl paid a handsome $30.00 fine. A DIFFERENT KTND OF ANNIVERSARY... Randy Seelye recently reached a milestone in his newspaper career by celebrating his 10th year anniversary with the Press Democrat. Randy paid $1.00 for each year as his recognition fine. JNTER-ROTARIAN BUSENESS... Russ McCracken paid a $10.00^ fine for selling one of his bikes to John Dolinsek. *& WEDDING BELLS WELL BE RINGING... Marilyn Pratt announced that she and Peter Neiman will be getting married on May 22nd and for the privilege, she paid $ Congratulations to both Marilyn and Peter! WHERE IS EVERYBODY?... Jack Eddinger showed up for last Thursday's "dark" meeting. Jack signed in anyway and was fined $10.00 for doing so. LATE ARRIVAL... Gary Bayless was fined $5.00 for having wet hair, a loud tie and being late. MORE TIE ACTION... Dave Lorenzen was fined $15.00 for his tie, which he happened to purchase during his recent trip to Disneyland. SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOWLING TOURNAMENT... Buster- Finch is seeking volunteers to assist with score keeping an<_ ball retrieval for this year's Bowling Tournament for Special Olympics in Petaluma on January 23rd, from noon to 4pm. Rotarians and family members are both invited and encouraged to give Buster a call. As Buster said, it is extremely rewarding for everyone who participates. MYSTERY ROTARIAN... Eric Van Cleave was fined SI.00 for not knowing that there wasn't a mystery rotarian this week.

Steve Davis presented Brad Morrison from Special Olympics with a $ combined donation from Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary and the Petaluma Valley Rotary. KAGOSHIMA INTEREST DESIRED... Loretta Slyh gave up an update on the upcoming visit to our sister club in Kagoshima, Japan. At this point, Loretta needs anyone who is interested in going to give her a call. SPECIAL VOLUNTEER PRESENTATION... Nancy Aita presented an appreciation plaque to Carl Van Cleave for his assistance in building the wheelchair ramps at the Steele Lane- School. Al Abramson was fined $15.00 for advertising when h. went into detail as to the origin of the plaque. Dan Davis who was responsible for delivering the plaque, was also recognized. BEST WISHES... Marilyn Pratt is recovering from recent shoulder surgery. is available for well-wishers to give a support phone call. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU... Marilyn Dan Davis was fined $10.00 in recognition of Susan's birthday, which fell on December 19th, however, due to the late notice, President Dave paid the fine. Riki Intner converted her $10.00 fine to a $25.00 Paul Harris donation in recognition of her birthday. TENNIS ANYONE?... Loretta Slyh was fined $10.00 is recognition of her dog, who i*" recovering from surgery. It appears that he swallowed an entire tennis ball. Seems he hasn't learned to chew before swallowing. AND FOR ALL THE MARBLES... Steve Davis gave it his best, when he searched for the black marble, but no cigar. Next week's raffle is up to $ and there are only five marbles left!
