We had 134 Registered with no shows. The weather was great and registration and parking went well. People arrived early and we started moving people on to the hill as soon as possible. The gates opened at 8:00am for show participants We moved 5 at a time up the hill. The judges all arrived on time and we used 5 people from the club to help with Judging. The judging sheets were made a lot more simpler this year, it sure sped up the Judging. All judging sheets were in and added up by around : pm. The Toys for Tots raffle was set up and Dan and J.T. took care of it. All the proceeds made with this raffle will be added to the Christmas Toys for Tots money collected at the Christmas Party Dinner. The door prizes were the best yet, there were enough for everyone to have one. Dick Matthies, Betty Ann and Alexis and Crystal. (J.T and Esther s Daughters.) Took care of the door prizes. The 50/50 was handled by Jerry and JoAnn Romero & Dario Moreno this year, Great job!. The Plaques were placed out for people to view around :45. The Awards started on time at 3:00pm. The 50/50 was first to go. There were a lot of things to win besides the money. Awards were passed out and we found that the Al Henry Plaque had disappeared and later discovered that a runner up award was not there also. All in all, everything went very well and all people were on there way home quickly. 50/50 Winner Refreshment List Birthdays Anniversary's Car Show Meeting Officers 6 BREAKFAST OUTTING IS BACK The breakfast will be on June the 8th at 9:00 am. 2 Page ROCKY MOUNTAIN NOVA CLUB New Car Show Location Red Lion Car Show If it is decided to move our Car Show from Heritage Square, we will need to be checking out some new places. There is a lot to take into consideration. The total cost of the show some where else would be expensive. But if we had more cars if would off set the cost. But that is the gamble we will have to decide on. Here are a few suggestions that were given to us. If you have any ideas of a place please let us know We need to decide by August 008 # 1 Fourney Museum # Hudson Gardens #3 Chatfield Reservoir #4 Bear Creek Park #5 Fat City #6 Tivoli Brewery Show T-Shirts There is 50 T Shirts left. We need to sell them. The cost is $9.00 each Contact Jan Elliner if you would like to buy a T-shirt. Her # is 303/ Heritage Square Music Hall RETRO LOUD PLAY Is Running thru Sept the 14, 008. The shows are Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday during the day. The buffet starts at noon and the play starts around :00 pm. The cost of tickets are $3.50 per person./ There will be more information in the July News Letter. Thornton Fest JT & Esther with their sweet 63 were the only Nova Club People Name Badges David Bills is the person in charge at this time. All Badge orders will be placed at the Meetings and paid for in advance. We will be ordering dangles with Your car Year and Type of Nova on it. When Dave gets a sufficient number he will place an order The show is on Sunday July the 0th at Maple Grove park W 3nd Ave In Applewood Co. The RMNC will have a Tent Set Up at this Event. There are 9 Member Novas going. The Mead Car Show This show is put on by the Mead Motorheads. Bob Baron is one of the Motorheads. Nova people attending were ; Kathy, Dan & Mary Ann, JT & Esther, Jim & Pat, Sheldon, Tom, Stuck, Rick, David Bills, Dave Kellner, Tim, and Bob and Nancy. Award Winning Novas In the Original Class 1st Place -Jim & Pat Runkle 3rd Place -JT and Esther Taylor Car Show Workers Dinner and Club Picnic August the 9th is the Date- Dave and Sharon Bills house is the location. It was decided to have the Car Show Workers appreciation dinner and Picnic all in one. Jerry said that the picnic in the beginning was for the car show workers. Because of the cost of the dinner and the profit made on the show we incorporated both together. The 11 Judges and their Wife's will be invited also. There will be more information in future news letters. The picnic is always a great time, and the Bills always put on a great picnic and open their house to all of us. Thanks Dave and Sharon!

He explained that when the church let out, there were a lot of children running around and some were banging sticks on the sides of some of the cars. When the owners yelled at the kids, the parents yelled back. It was uncomfortable for a couple of minutes, but it settled down. This is something that isn t going away if we stay at Heritage Square. Bob also made a suggestion that if we had put Golden, Co. on the T-shirts we would have sold more. People from out of state don't know where Heritage Square is, but having Golden Co. on the Shirt, people could identify with that. Dick Matthies had a couple of suggestions, that the door prizes be numbered before we take them up to the show, and that it would be better if the speed bump ramps were double wide. There was a discussion on members saving spaces. After the discussion a vote was taken and it was unanimous, Members cannot save specific spots for participants. I would like to personally thank each and every one of you. Many people did more than one thing, if it wasn t for your help the show would not have been the success it was. My job is to try and make sure all bases are covered. Most of the time this it self is a big assignment But with every ones help, things turned out great. Every one worked hard and did a great job. The reg. people did great as did the parkers, Bob did a great job on selling T-shirts, Jerry and JoAn on selling 50/50 tickets. But the two people who saved my back side were the two ladies that took care of adding up the judging sheets and placing them in order for me. These two ladies need a big Thank You Thank you Kathy Redmon & Pat Morrison

4 ROCKY MOUNTAIN NOVA CLUB Page 4 Dan brought the meeting to order at 7:34pm Members and One Guest were in attendance The guest was a friend of Bob Baron ( Fred Rutze ) from Illinois. Fred took a group photo of the members in attendance. Jan Ellinger gave the Treasurers report. There are 50 T-shirts left from the car show, approx 40 large, 7 extra large and a couple of others and they will be sold to members that want them for $9.00 David Bills said that ordering of Name Badges and tag alongs will be done at the meetings instead of calling them in to David. If you want a tag along that has the YEAR AND TYPE of Nova on it, for instance 1970 Nova SS, there will be a sign up sheet at the meetings. When Dave gets a sufficient number they will be ordered. They must be paid up front. The cost for Tag Alongs is $1.50. Tom Koehler talked about the car show. There were 38 members that worked the show and we had 11 Judges. The only serious problem we had was the Al Henry Plaque disappeared but it is being remade. Tom said everybody did a great Job and he especially praised Kathy Redmond and Pat Morrison on the great job they did in counting up the Judging Sheets and having the listing done so early. The Shortened Judging sheets that Tom made up helped the judges and Kathy and Pat. Great Job Ladies! Dan talked about the survey that Dave Kelllner did while doing the security check in the parking lot. Half of the people that came either had been to the show before, or heard from word of mouth or from the flyers. Dan has the numbers if you want more detail. There was a discussion on whether to go back to Heritage Square or not, the pros and cons. The word had gotten around the participants with our troubles with Heritage Square and that we might not have it there next year. A lot of people like the Heritage Square venue but understand if we have to move it. Bob Baron had a couple of comments, one about the confrontation with the church people, He explained that when the church let out there were a lot of children running around and some were banging sticks on the sides of some cars. During the walk through on April 13th Sunday, we asked several of the church goers if they had a problem with the show that we do every year and we had a good response. Some parents need to do a better job of controlling their kids. Bob also made a suggestion that if we had put Golden, Co. on the T-shirts we would have sold more. Kathy said that she heard back from at least one participant that won a plaque that they couldn't get back to the sponsor because the sponsor info on the back of the plaque was wrong. Dan asked if we had enough Judges, he thought there were. Tom said he thought there wasn't enough. There was a discussion on members saving spots for participants. It was brought up that if you come together, you can park together and we park groups together but don't save specific areas. We fit them in where we can. After the discussion a vote was taken and it was unanimous, Members cannot save specific spots for participants. The party at David Bills will be August 9th. There was a discussion and a suggestion that this would be the appreciation dinner party for members and Judges and their spouses. It was voted on and that the Club will take care of the Food and Drink. It will still be potluck for those that want to bring food. We will discuss what

5 ROCKY MOUNTAIN NOVA CLUB Page 5 we'll do at the next two meetings. There will be a Car Show Committee Meeting on July 13th at Perkins Restaurant for next years show at :00pm I-5 and 10th avenue. Dan said that the person from Direct Impressions that did our T-shirts made about a half dozen suggestions on where we could hold our show if we moved it away from Heritage Square. David Bills said that if you have a place for the show, get as much information that you can, (cost to rent, accommodations, food vendors nearby etc.) and bring it to the June meeting. We need to decide by the August 9th Bills Party where the Show will be so that we can get it into the NSRA 009 listing schedule in Sept. Dan said that Jan Ellinger told him that the Heritage Square Music Hall is doing their Retro Loud Play and it is running thru September 14th. What we have done in the past is get tickets for the play and the dinner buffet. The shows are Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday during the day. It is a great buffet which starts on the weekend about noon and the play starts about :00pm. Tickets are $3.50per person. There will be more information at the June meeting. Dan said there are 9 cars going to the Red Lyons show. There was a sign up sheet going around so that we could find out who is going to what shows. James Taylor and Esther were the only ones at Thortonfest. Several people went to Bob Barons Mead Car Show with and without cars. Kathy, Dan & Mary Ann Pace, James Taylor and Esther. Jim & Pat Runkle. Sheldon Brunn, Tom Koehler, Stuck, and Rick Ellinger. Jim and Pat Runkle won 1st place in the Original class, and James Taylor took 3rd place in the Original class. Congratulations to both! Stuck brought up that we should start up the Breakfasts again. It was decided that there will be a breakfast at Gunther Toodys on Alameda & Leetsdale at 900am on JUNE 8th. He also stated that last fall we tabled the discussion about joining the OCC. The points he made was that we could offset some or all the dues for the OCC by having people from the club work venues like the Havanna Cruise, Cruise Colfax and the Swap meet, which we did in the past when we were OCC members. They pay the clubs a percentage depending how many members work. It must be brought up about the decorum during the meetings. All too often there are multiple conversations going on when somebody is trying to talk to the group. We need to have better respect for the person who is trying to address us no matter who they are.
