Had 79 expressins f interest in jining the club. Rckhamptn Our track and surrunds having been underging sme imprvements and a clean-up which has gne very well, the track is lking great. Thanks t the Emerald Kart Club fr inviting Rcky s members t act as fficials at the AKC Thank yu t Karting Qld and Karting Australia fr the wrk they did in helping us with ur successful grant fr the Race America lights. The CQ Series Rckhamptn Rund was terrific with ur grunds lking great and everything running well fr the meeting. Mt Isa Spnsrship rganised fr all classes Only 1 Junir currently cmpeting Greater Western Games 2-day meet was very successful and ppular Has handed apprximately half f their land back t the cuncil (unused) and have halved their yearly rates. Gladstne Received a $200,000 grant frm lcal cuncil $5,000 safety grant frm KA t resurface Ingrid Junir Sprckets prgram was very successful and have picked up new members frm it. Allwing camping and have upgraded the facilities t encurage travellers Twers Wrks and upgrades are nging Have received a small grant, wrking n thers t raise the last required funds t finish the track The club has enlisted the help f a prfessinal t assist with the fundraising Clla Pssibility f getting a $150,000 grant frm the Sprt and Rec disaster relief fund frm Cyclne Debbie Wuld like t fix the drainage at the club with the mney if successful Struggling t get fficials and t upgrade existing nes t level 3 Randm Draw instead f qualifying has wrked well fr the Cadet classes. There have been n issues and the club believes it has imprved the skill and standards f the drivers. Cairns Race meeting numbers are dwn Have had meetings pstpned and clashes with majr events which has nt helped Cme and Try cming up with ptential new karters wh signed up frm the display at the Cairns Shw Need t increase the pl f fficials, same peple ding the same jbs each meeting. New track is prgressing slwly, red tape and bureaucracy nt helping Have had an influx f new Cadet 9 members Several members are racing away mre than hme Emerald Thanks t all fficials and peple invlved in the AKC meeting last weekend. 6 The meeting was very well run and is a credit t the club and vlunteers. Brett wuld like t thank the club fr lking after the fficials s well at the event. State Technical Adviser Have had State Champinships and AKC runds in QLD recently. The Technical crew has wrked well tgether at these events. State Champinship had 50% lcals, 50% travellers with a gd distributin acrss all f the QLD clubs. Jill and Gary Sampsn are retiring and mving t anther state. Mark wuld like t persnally thank Jill and Gary fr their tireless service ver the years and wish them the very best fr the future. Vice President Unnanuced visit has been dne at Whitsunday, went well Driver training at Clla 30 th July, small numbers but expecting a gd day The Driver Training days will cntinue t be rlled ut thrughut QLD Junir Vice President Been very busy with State Karting Champinships Have been cleaning ut the KQ strage shed at Gladstne and have dumped/dispsed f a large amunt f ld paperwrk and ut-dated items. President Brett wuld like t thank everyne, especially the ther members f the executive, fr their assistance and patience ver the last few weeks as he has been dealing with persnal issues. Sme f the mtrs are nly hmlgated t run in the Natinal Series. All Officials t hld Blue Cards fr cmpliance with Wrking with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act It is highly recmmended that all fficials hld Blue Cards hwever it is nt mandatry. Clubs are strngly encuraged t prgress their fficials t implement Wrking with Children Checks as per the 2017 Affiliatin requirements. Infrmatin n this and ther curses is available n the Play By The Rules website Deregulatin f the Mtr & Tire dealership arrangements t cmply with the ACCC Anti-cmpetitive rulings in Sectin 45 f the Cmpetitin and Cnsumer Act. Third Line Frcing ntificatins have been ldged by Karting Australia with the ACCC fr the exclusive use and supply f engines Item 10c Prpsed by Gladstne GKC wuld like t cngratulate the Ipswich Kart Club n the successful hsting f the 1st rund f the 2017 State Titles. We hpe that Ipswich members alng with all ther Clubs will reciprcate the supprt shwn t Ipswich by travelling drivers and supprt the next rund in Mackay; GKC wuld like t enquire as t the prgress f the distributin f a regular newsletter c-rdinated by the Executive; Newsletter has prgressing but it is very difficult t find enugh relevant news and we are already time pr. Agreed that the KQ Facebk page is a quicker ptin than a Newsletter and will be utilised mre instead. Minutes frm Management Cmmittee t be ed ut t clubs. GKC wuld like t see rganisatin and cmmunicatin arund the 2018 Race Calendar cmmence as a matter f urgency t ensure timely release f the calendar; Calendar t be discussed later in the meeting GKC wuld like t express supprt fr 2018 racing classes t mirrr Karting Australia s recmmendatins; Gladstne wuld like t see all clubs run the 2016 mandatry 8 classes run at all meetings (plus ptinal ther classes) t prmte cnsistency. 8 2 nd & 3 rd December 2017 GKC wuld like t publicly acknwledge and thank Karting Australia fr their supprt f ur Club in the frm f tw pprtunities: Hsting f the Junir Sprckets prgram an amazing initiative that was very well supprted and enjyed by all invlved; Financial supprt in the frm f a Track Safety Grant via that initiative. GKC wuld like the Executive t investigate the ptins arund special prvisins t upgrade fficial s levels in a mre expedient manner fr Clubs where accessing the number f meets t fficiate at t meet requirements is impacted by availability f meets and distance t get t them. New prcedures are nw in place t make this easier The State Officials C-rdinatr will cnsider all requests fr upgrades and will wrk t prcess them as quickly as pssible. Item 10d Prpsed by Mackay Mackay mves a mtin fr the SKC t vte t change the date f ur rund f the QLD Kart Champinship t run n 29 September t 1 Octber 2017 which was the date previusly nminated fr the State Cup at Ipswich. We think it is unfair that Ipswich wuld run a state title rund and the state cup in the same year and in the very next lt f schl hlidays. The respnse frm cmpetitrs is verwhelming in that they d nt intend t cmpete in Mackay n ur Nvember date as it is t late in the seasn, it is nt in the schl hlidays, there is significant risk f rain at that time f year and temperature will be t ht (unless it rains). Our club deserves a date that will give us the best pssible chance f attracting the highest pssible cmpetitr numbers. Depressingly we are prcessing requests fr refunds n an almst daily basis frm cmpetitrs wh infrm us they have n intentin f cmpeting n the Nvember date that has been nminated. If Mackay is nt given the date requested ur cmmittee feels the event will almst certainly be a flp thrugh n fault f ur wn which may leave the club in a psitin whereby it may struggle t service its debts. We ask the SKC t please supprt Mackay s we can try t make this event the best it can be. That Mackay exchange their Rund 2 State Title Event date with Ipswich s State Cup date. Mackay like t perfrm tyre distributin at the event if the date is changed as requested, this will ensure fairness t all cmpetitrs as they ll be n the same tyres and the incme generated by selling the tyres at RRP prices + freight will help the club t service its debts and cver event expenses. Just because Ipswich decided nt t supply tyres des nt mean that anther club which is hsting a rund f the same series shuld suffer as a result f the decisin f ne club. The hst clubs shuld have the right t make these decisins please help us t prmte fairness and t make these events as ecnmically viable as pssible fr hst clubs. Since the intrductin f frced cntrl fuel at meetings in Queensland culd smene please advise us hw many fuel cheats have been identified as a result f this change? Hw many clubs are in a psitin t perfrm fuel testing at club days? Additives we understand shuld be detected using fuel testing prcedures regardless f the pump fuel brand used. Reasn: There can be a lt f difference between the lk, fr example, f an 8-10 year ld karter when he/she first received their first licence t the way they lk tday. License hlders can request an updated licence card every 3 years free f charge.
