2 INTRODUCTION SARP fr Persnnel Licensing were first adpted by the Cuncil n 14 April 1948 and designated as Annex 1 t the Cnventin. The Annex is applicable t all new applicants and license hlders When there are any amendments, it will be applicable t all. If the amendment affect the previus license hlder, the assessment by re-examinatin, experience and prficiency is left t the discretin f the States

With ttal seating f 200 passengers (max), number f cabin attendant 1 per 50 passengers With ttal seating > 200 passengers, number f cabin attendant, ½ the number f main exits + [1 fr every 25 passengers if > 200.

Any extensive mutilatin f the chest wall and sequelae f surgical prcedures resulting in decreased respiratry efficiency at altitude shall be assessed as unfit. Cases f active pulmnary tuberculsis, shall be assessed as unfit Cases f disabling disease with imprtant impairment f functins f the gastr-intestinal tract shall be assessed as unfit. Shall be required t be free frm hernia. Any sequelae f disease r surgical interventin n any part f the digestive tract, liable t cause sudden incapacity in flight shall be assessed as unfit. Cases f severe enlargement f the spleen shall be assessed as unfit.

20 Cases f metablic, nutritinal r endcrine disrders that interfere the safe peratin f an aircraft shall be assessed as unfit. Prven cases f diabetes mellitus shwn t be cntrllable, withut the use f any antidiabetic drug, shall be assessed as fit. Cases f severe enlargement f the spleen shall be assessed as unfit. Cases f lcalised and generalised lymphatic glands enlargement and disease f the bld shall be assessed as unfit. Cases presenting any signs r rganic disease f the kidney shall be assessed as unfit. 21 Wh has a persnal histry f syphilis must shw evidence, that he has undergne adequate treatment. 22 VISUAL REQUIREMENT The functin f the eye and their adnexa shall be nrmal. Shall be required t have nrmal fields f visin Shall be required t have a distant visual acuity > 6/9 in each eye separately, with r withut the use f crrecting lenses. Where this standard f visual acuity can be btained nly with crrecting lenses the applicant may be assessed as fit prvided that: a) such crrecting lenses are wrn when flying b) has t least a distant visual acuity in ne eye f > 6/18 withut crrectin and in the ther eye f > 6/60 withut crrectin c) he has a spare set f suitable crrecting lenses readily available

23 VISUAL REQUIREMENT Shall be required t have the ability t read the N5 chart at a distance f 30 t 50 cm and the ability t read the N14 chart at a distance f 100 cm. If this requirement is met nly by the use f crrecting lenses, the applicant may be assessed as fit prvided that such lenses are available fr immediate use when flying.

24 COLOUR PERCEPTION REQUIREMENT Clr perceptin sense shall be measured either by means f pseudischrmatic plates r f a suitable clr perceptin lantern in a cmpletely darkened rm. Must be able t read the pseudischrmatic plates r t identify the clrs signal red, signal green, and white, when displayed by means f the clr perceptin lantern

25 HEARING REQUIREMENT Must be free frm any hearing defect likely t interfere his flying ability. Auditry acuity shall be measured by the fllwing methds, either r bth : a) by means f standard pure tne audimeter in a rm in which the intensity f the backgrund nise des nt exceed 50dB; and b) by a test f the applicant's ability t hear nrmal speech Shall nt have a hearing lss, in either ear separately, f > 35dB at any f the frequencies 500,1000 r 2000 Hz, r mre than 50dB at 3000 Hz

26 HEARING REQUIREMENT Once every years up t the age f 40 years and thereafter nt less than nce every 3 years. Hwever, hearing lss greater than the abve may be declared fit prvided that: a) Has a hearing perfrmance in each ear separately equivalent t that f a nrmal persn, against a backgrund nise that will simulate the masking prperties f flight deck nise upn speech and beacn signals b) the applicant has an ability t hear average cnversatinal vice in a quiet rm, using bth ears, at a distance f 2 metres frm the examiner.

29 RATING The fllwing ratings may be included in a pilt's license: Aircraft Ratings: flight crew qualificatin that authrises the hlder t perate particular aircraft Instrument Rating: is a rating that is added t a PPL r CPL and refers t the qualificatins that a pilt must have in rder t fly under Instrument Flight Rules. Night Rating: entitle the license hlder t act as pilt-incmmand f an aerplane at night

Flying Instructr Rating: entitle the hlder f the license t give instructin in flying aircrafts

30 RATING Twing Rating: entitle the license hlder t act as pilt f a flying machine while twing a glider in flight. Flying Instructr Rating: entitle the hlder f the license t give instructin in flying aircrafts specified in his rating. An aircraft rating included in a flight engineer's license shall entitle the hlder f the license t act as flight engineer nly f an aircraft f a type specified in the aircraft rating.
