1 Training Plicy Last Updated: 1 st Feb GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: FLIGHT CREW TRAINING & TESTING Valid Flying dcuments such as license/ir, medical, DGR, SEP, CRM etc. f a trainee must be valid during all phases f training/check. It is the duty f the check flight crew t physically check all relevant flying dcuments f a trainee befre cmmencement f training/check sessin. In case, a check flight crew cnducts training/check with an expired dcument f a trainee, he/she shall als be held respnsible. Submissin f training file/check reprt in Training Divisin is the respnsibility f the Check Pilt TOLERANCES (AEROPLANE CONTROL) The tlerance fr instrument flight tests shall be respected by all check pilts. Each candidate shall demnstrate aerplane cntrl t maintain; Assigned headings within 10 degrees. Assigned tracks and bearings within 10 degrees. Altitude within 100 feet except at MDA when accurate altitude cntrl is required. Air speed within + 10 KNOTS r 5 KNOTS fr hlding, apprach and missed apprach. Nt mre than half scale deflectin, as apprpriate t the airplane type, f the curse deviatin indicatrs during instrument appraches CONSIDERATIONS AND OBSERVATIONS. Training and Check Flight Crew when submitting training/check reprts shall ensure that they are signed by the trainees indicating that they are made aware f the cntents. It is mst imprtant that the remarks must cmplement the rating given WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SIMULATOR TRAINING Fr the purpse f standardizatin, the fllwing weather/envirnment cnditins shall be simulated during training and PPC: Crsswind: Cmpnent nt t exceed 10kts during takeff and landing under nrmal and nn-nrmal cnditins (except during landing training sessin). Ceiling and Visibility: Fr circuit training including visual appraches with system failures, clud base 2000ft AGL and visibility 5 km. Nn-Precisin Apprach: Increase published MDA by 100ft and visibility by 500 meters t cmpensate fr visual limitatins. Circling Appraches: Increase published circling minima by 200ft and visibility by 500 meters t cmpensate fr visual limitatins.

2 Precisin Instrument Apprach & Landing CAT I Appraches: Ceiling and visibility/rvr as published and visibility nt less than 800 meters and RVR nt less than 550 meters. CAT II Appraches: Published minima but RVR nt less than 350 meters. CAT III A Appraches: Published minima but RVR nt less than 200 meters. CAT III B Appraches: Published minima but RVR nt less than 75 meters. LVTO: Lw visibility takeff requires at least 150/200 meters fr Categry C/D aerplanes, respectively depending n runway lighting and availability f multiple RVR (therwise increase t 200/250 meters). Cld Weather: Depth f Snw: Nt t exceed 4mm / 0.16 in. Depth f Slush: Nt t exceed ¼ in. Depth f Standing water: Nt t exceed ½ in. Nte: Simulatr weather/envirnment cnditins, indicated with each lessn plan, shall be strictly adhered t WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS FLIGHT TRAINING Visibility nt less than 3 km, r Circling Minima, whichever is greater, fr circuit training. If circuit training is nt being carried ut, then nrmal minima fr the type f apprach shall apply. Clud Base r Ceiling nt less than 2000 feet AGL. Crsswind nt mre than 15 knts fr a dry runway, r nt mre than 10 knts fr a wet runway. N thunderstrm activity within a 10 nm radius arund the airfield circuit area r the training area. 2.3 CATEGORIES OF TRAINING AND CHECK FLIGHT CREW Type Rating Instructr (TRI): As authrised by the cmpany, Captains with TRI endrsement n their licenses can carry ut line indctrinatin f pilts n aerplane, and cnduct nly thse line checks which are a cmpany requirement and nt that f PCAA. Designated Check Pilt (Type B): A DCP authrised by PCAA t carry ut line indctrinatin and/r line checks which are a PCAA requirement, in additin t their regular Cmpany duties, shall be referred t as DCP Type B Synthetic Flight Instructr (SFI): Captains with SFI endrsement n their licenses can carry ut Simulatr training as authrized by the Cmpany and cnduct nly thse simulatr checks which are a cmpany requirement and nt that f PCAA. Designated Check Pilt (Type A): A DCP wh, as an authrized persn, may cnduct Flight r Skill tests, Recurrent Pilt Prficiency Checks (PPCs), recurrent Instrument Rating Tests (IRTs) and Categry II and/r III Apprach endrsements as applicable. All these endrsements may be accmplished either in apprved Flight Simulatin Training Device r in actual aerplane depending n situatin and circumstances as apprved by the PCAA. A DCP Type A has all f the authrities f a DCP Type B. Hwever, a DCP Type A is nt authrized t perfrm a Flight r Skill Test leading t the award f a Licence (CPL r ATPL r Type Rating) unless explicit apprval has been granted t him by the Licensing Authrity/FSD PCAA in writing. DCPs apprved by the PCAA t cnduct recurrent Pilt Prficiency Checks and Instrument Renewal Checks n the simulatr r flight shall be referred t as

3 DCP Type A. They shall als exercise the authrity f a DCP (Type B), and, additinally, shall carry ut Simulatr/ Flight Training and Line Training as authrized. Simulatr Evaluatr: A simulatr evaluatr shall ensure that simulatrs and training devices, whether wned r subcntracted, have the required certificatins and PCAA apprval, meet required qualificatin and perfrmance standards, and are annually evaluated t ensure cmpliance with the airlines and PCAA requirements. They will be appinted amng the equipment standard inspectrs. The evaluatin f simulatrs r training devices shuld nrmally be carried ut alng with Deputy Chief Pilt QA (Flight Ops) FLIGHT SIMULATOR TRAINING (ALL AEROPLANES) Check (Cmmand Training): A final Simulatr Check, in the frm f a MOFT/LOFT riented exercise incrprating instrument failures, emergency prcedures, Instrument letdwns and handling t a Cmmand standard, shall be cnducted by a Designated Check Pilt (Type A) mnitred by FI, PCAA r his nminee. Failure (Pre-rating / Check): An unsuccessful pre-rating r check shall cnstitute the first failure. In such a case the pilt shall be granted tw (2) remedial sessins f fur (04) hurs each. He/she may then either be recmmended fr a check r granted tw mre sessins (which shall be cnsidered secnd failures). In case fur remedial sessins are granted, the pilt shall be put up fr the final check. The subsequent check will be cnducted by DCP A ther than the ne wh cnducted initial pre-rating / check. In case f a third successive failure, an Evaluatin Bard shall meet fr further recmmendatins REQUIREMENT OF SECTORS DURING UNDER SUPERVISION FLYING. After simulatr training, 50 hurs f under supervisin flying shall be cmpleted which will include minimum f eight (08) sectrs t include six landings befre the trainee is put up fr the final rute check. Minimum f tw sectrs shall be flwn as PM/PNF PRE-FINAL COMMAND ROUTE CHECK Pre-Final Cmmand Rute Check shall be cnducted by a DCP, flwn ver 2 sectrs t a Cmmand standard. This check shall include an ral examinatin f any Operating Prcedures (e.g. windshear, temperature inversin after takeff, adverse weather prcedures, g arund prcedure, EGPWS warning, TCAS activatin, bmb threat, etc) FAILURE FINAL PRE-RATING / COMMAND ROUTE CHECK After cmpletin f required under supervisin flying, a failure t attain a minimum standard t be put up fr a rute check shall cnstitute a failure. After the first failure, the crewmember shall be given necessary remedial training as up t and maximum f 25 hurs f under supervisin as recmmended by Chief Pilt Crew Training. The crewmember shall then be reassessed thrugh a check. On a subsequent failure the case shall be referred t the Evaluatin Bard fr decisin. 6.5 FIRST OFFICER TRAINING FLIGHT SIMULATOR In n case shall a Pilt Prficiency Check, whether initial r renewal, be cleared n the basis f granting additinal under supervisin flying hurs. If an ab-initi pilt (Cadet Pilt) fails t maintain satisfactry prgress during initial training r fails the simulatr prficiency check, he/she may be given maximum f 2 remedial training sessins, fllwed by a check.

4 In case f secnd unsatisfactry perfrmance, the case shall be referred t the cmpetent authrity fr terminatin f his/her services. 6.7 POST TRAINING REQUIREMENT CAPTAIN If the time between the cmpletin f the Cmmand Training Prgramme and the first flight as Pilt in Cmmand exceeds furteen (14) days, then the duly apprved training must be cmpleted befre prceeding as Pilt in Cmmand i.e. tw P1 under supervisin sectrs fr recapping and familiarizatin f prcedures and techniques. Fllwing initial checkut, a Captain shall cmplete a pattern f peratin f at least fur (4) sectrs substantially ver a rute n which training r checking was undertaken during Cmmand Training i.e. familiar sectrs. Subsequent t this pattern a Captain may (subject t rute qualificatin) perate t any aerdrme in the Cmpany's netwrk AUTHORITY FOR ALLOWING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS TO THE RHS: Captains are authrized t allw take ff and landings t First Officers nly after: The Captain has cmpleted 100 hurs in cmmand, and The restrictins as specified in SOP/OM are cmplied with FIRST OFFICER (POST TRANSITION / LINE TRAINING) Fllwing cmpletin f Line Training and prmtin t First Officer, a pilt shall be rstered s as t achieve at least 8 sectrs as Pilt Flying in the first 120 days SIMULATOR / BASE CHECK FAILURE In case a Pilt fails t qualify in the third successive attempt, he/she shall be reverted t the immediate previus shrt haul equipment r fly P2 n the same equipment, subject t the decisin f the Evaluatin Bard. In such cases, the pilt shall be utilized fr a perid f at least tw years LINE TRAINING FAILURE In case a Captain fails t qualify after additinal training, he/she shall have t fly P2 n the same equipment fr a minimum perid f ne (1) year r 300 hurs, whichever is mre, fllwed by a reevaluatin. If such reevaluatin is unsatisfactry, he/she shall be reverted t the immediate previus shrt haul equipment / fly P2 n the same equipment, as decided by the Evaluatin Bard. In this case the pilt shall be utilized fr a perid f at least tw years and shall be subject t fulfilling all ther experience requirements. In case an FO fails t qualify after additinal training, his/her case shall be referred t the Evaluatin Bard. If an ab-initi pilt (Cadet Pilt) fails t maintain satisfactry prgress during line training, r fails the initial line check, he/she may be detailed fr a maximum f 25 hurs additinal under supervisin training fllwed by a rute check. In case f secnd unsatisfactry perfrmance, CPCT can use his discretin and allw further training up t 25 hurs. After a third failure, the case shall be referred t the Cmpetent Authrity fr terminatin f his/her services FAILURES DURING TRAINING PHASE. Failures during Transitin Training shall be cumulative, i.e. if there is ne failure during simulatr training and ne during line training, these shall be recrded as tw failures during training phase.

5 7.2.4 TRAINING CYCLES (PHASES) The prgramme prvides fr a twelve (12) mnths training cycle f tw distinct phases (six mnths apart). Simulatr training sessins shall be prvided fr each pilt, twice a year with a minimum separatin f 120 days. If a pilt culd nt be detailed fr a PPC due any reasn in the previus eight (8) mnths he/she shall be remved frm line flying duties and detailed fr PPC. 7.6 REMEDIAL TRAINING FOR FAILURE DURING PPC / IR If a Pilt fails t qualify during recurrent PPC/IR, he/she may be granted remedial training f tw sessins (fur hurs each) fllwed by anther check t be carried ut by a DCP (A). In case he/she fails t qualify in the secnd check, the case shall be referred t the Evaluatin Bard. 7.7 REMEDIAL TRAINING FOR FAILURE DURING ROUTE CHECK In case a pilt fails a rute check, he/she shall be granted remedial training by Chief Pilt Crew Training n case t case basis, fllwed by anther rute check. If he/she still des nt qualify again, the case shall be referred t the Evaluatin Bard. 8.0 ALL WEATHER OPERATIONS (AWO) TRAINING RECENCY T retain Lw Visibility Operatins recency f qualificatin, a Captain must participate in: The apprved simulatr cyclic and prficiency prgram (six mnthly) and Cmplete an aut cupled ILS apprach t tuchdwn at least every 45 days in an airplane. If an autland using Lw Visibility prcedures has nt been cmpleted in the preceding 45 days, recency can be updated by: Cmpleting an autland in the aerplane in CAT I r better cnditins using Lw Visibility prcedures, r Cmpleting an autland in an apprved flight simulatr using Lw Visibility prcedures, r Viewing vide detailing Lw Visibility prcedures. Where recency is updated by this methd, the succeeding update must be in the aerplane r flight Simulatr. Lw Visibility prcedures d nt imply use f a Cat II r Cat III minima. The minima fr the apprach shall be that published n the applicable apprach chart. 8.3 LOW VISIBILITY TAKEOFF COMPETENCE CHECK Lw visibility takeff cmpetence checking is achieved by participatin in the apprved simulatr cyclic and prficiency training prgram. A Captain des nt require a Lw Visibility Operatins qualified cpilt in the right hand seat, r a Flight Engineer in a three-man cckpit, when carrying ut a practice apprach t meet recency requirement in CAT I r better weather cnditins. Hwever, the Captain is required t prcedurally brief a nnqualified Cpilt / Flight Engineer prir t cmmencement f practice apprach.

6 9.6 RECOGNISING SUBTLE INCAPACITATION BEFORE REACHING A CRITICAL SITUATION: Strict adherence t standard perating prcedures. Rutine mnitring and crsschecking f flight instruments and crew actins, particularly during critical phases f flight. The use f the challenge and respnse cncept in cmpletin f checks and drills. The use f the crew cncept f peratin, which integrates the functins and actins f a flight crew and requires that each member's actin is mnitred by anther. The use f "Tw Cmmunicatin Rule", meaning that flight crew members shall have a very high degree f suspicin f a subtle incapacitatin whenever a flight crew member des nt respnd apprpriately t tw verbal cmmunicatins, r whenever he/she des nt respnd apprpriately t any verbal cmmunicatin, assciated with a significant deviatin frm a standard flight prfile TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS (45 DAYS RESTRICTION) A pilt is required t have acted as PF (pilt flying) during 1 takeff and landing within a 45 days perid. Any pilt nt in cmpliance with this shall nt act as PIC r a First Officer as applicable. A pilt is required t have acted as PF during 3 takeffs and landings within a 90 days perid. A pilt nt in cmpliance with this shall nt act as PIC r a First Officer as applicable. In the case f a Captain it is accepted that an autmatic landing wuld satisfy the abve landing requirements. First Officers must perfrm manual landings REQUALIFICATION FOR RECENCY OF EXPERIENCE PERIOD FROM 46 DAYS UP TO AND INCLUDING 70 DAYS Cmplete any missed simulatr cyclic syllabus; r, if nne have been missed, cmplete a simulatr cyclic syllabus f day 2 nly; r Cmplete tw takeffs and tw landings as PF, n a Training Flight; r Cmplete tw hurs flight time n line including ne takeff and ne landing as PF, with a Designated Check Pilt/TRI in a pilt seat; r Cmplete tw enrute sectrs f at least 45 minutes flight time each including tw takeffs and tw landings, as PF, with a Designated Check Pilt in a pilt seat. PERIOD FROM 71 DAYS UP TO AND INCLUDING 90 DAYS Cmplete any missed simulatr cyclic syllabus, r, if nne have been missed, cmplete a simulatr cyclic syllabus f day 2 nly; Cmplete a Line Check (R/C). PERIOD FROM 91 DAYS UP TO AND INCLUDING 180 DAYS Cmplete any missed simulatr cyclic syllabus, r, if nne have been missed, cmplete a simulatr cyclic syllabus f day 2 nly; Cmplete a Line Check (R/C) which shall be preceded by a minimum f:

Lng Haul: 1 sectr under supervisin as PF, r Shrt Haul: 4 sectrs under supervisin as PF. The Designated Check Pilt shall ccupy a pilt seat fr sectrs flwn including the Line Check.

PERIOD IN EXCESS OF 550 DAYS Cmplete transitin training is required TRAINING REQUIREMENT IN CASE OF REVERSION TO PREVIOUS EQUIPMENT Flight crew are prhibited frm perating their previus equipment nce training is started n a new equipment. Whenever a pilt is reverted t his / her previus equipment during r after training the fllwing shall apply: If a pilt had undergne grund training fr the ther aerplane and prvided he/ she has nt missed any cyclic simulatr / base check then: If less than tw weeks grund training then n crrective training is required. If mre than tw weeks grund training then the pilt has t attend apprved lng refresher training f the equipment. If a pilt is reverted t his previus equipment after he/she has started simulatr training he/she shall underg apprved lng refresher curse f the equipment he/she is reverted t and 4 sectrs f under supervisin flying fllwed by a line check. Reversin frm the stage f under supervisin, the pilt has t attend apprved lng refresher and recurrent simulatr training fllwed by a simulatr check, and 4 sectrs f under supervisin flying fllwed by a line check. After a pilt has started his/her line flying n the prmted aerplane and if reverted n his/her previus aerplane, fllwing training shall be required:

8 10.4 INSTRUMENT FLIGHT T retain Instrument Flight recency, a Captain must participate in the apprved simulatr cyclic and prficiency prgram and cmplete an ILS apprach at least every 45 days. If an ILS has nt been cmpleted in the preceding 45 days, recency can be revalidated by cmpleting an ILS in the simulatr r aerplane under the supervisin f a Designated Check Pilt TRI RATING CURRENCY Currency requirements are having cmpleted at least 100 hurs f flight instructin n aerplanes as TRI during the perid f ne year; and Attended a TRI refresher seminar, as apprved by the PCAA, within the last 12 mnths; Passed a prficiency check within the last 6 mnths TRI RATING REGAINING CURRENCY Fr regaining currency f a TRI rating the applicant shall: Underg ne simulatr sessin f at least 02 hurs; r One air exercise f at least 1 hur cmprising a minimum f 2 take ffs and landings; and Attend a TRI refresher seminar, as apprved by the PCAA, within the last 12 mnths; Pass a prficiency check within the last 6 mnths RECENCY DCP A and DCP B DCP Type A must cnduct at least ten (10) PPC and IRTs every 12 mnths r their delegated authrity will be revked. Cncessin t this requirement may be given, under special circumstances, at the discretin f Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity (Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity) DCP Manual. DCP Type B must cnduct at least 10 line checks (Rute Checks) every 12 mnths r their delegated authrity will be revked. Cncessin t this requirement may be given, under special Circumstances, at the discretin f Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity. DCPs Type A and B must pass an annual PPC renewal in the Flight Simulatin Training Device cnducted r mnitred by an Inspectr f Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity. T maintain the same date f validity fr successive years, the Annual mnitr by an Inspectr f Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity n every type f DCPs may be cmpleted in the last 90 days f the validity perid. A DCP Type A must cnduct a PPC and/r IRT annually in the Flight Simulatin Training Device mnitred by an Inspectr f Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity. This exercise may be accmplished tgether with annual PPC renewal augmented sessin. A DCP Type B must successfully cmplete a line check (Rute Check) annually mnitred by an Inspectr f Pakistan Civil Aviatin Authrity.
