8 Bribie for Fish & Chips Sunday 7 th of January 14 of us on 7 bikes, 2 trikes and a Spyder met at BP Caboolture Northbound set out on our first ride of 2018 to Bribie Island for fish & chips. Bribie Fish & Chips Ride We left BP Northbound at 9:00 and rode north on the Bruce Hwy crossed over at the Buchannan s Rd overpass and rode south to Deception Bay. Here we rode along the waterfront that was looking good as the tide was in, before turning west to Narangba. A ride through the backblocks of Morayfield and Upper Caboolture had us arriving at Wamuran for a rest stop and a coffee. From Wamuran we rode past the many farms along Newlands and Twin View Rds. to Elimbah before riding past The Big Fish and on to the Bribie Rd at Ningi. At the big roundabout at Ningi we turned right for detour through Godwin s Beach and Sandstone Point before crossing the bridge to Bribie Island. Immediately after crossing the bridge we made a hard left and half a kilometre along the waterfront was our destination, the Sylvan Beach Seafood Café. Ron & Di met us at the café and had reserved a couple of tables for us. The café was very busy but we were all seated fairly quickly at tables in the shade right, on the waterfront. We ended the ride here after a good ride, good company and a nice lunch overlooking beautiful Pumicestone Passage. It was a great day for a ride even though it was a bit hot toward the middle of the day. Thanks to Cliffy & Robyn, Russel & Kieran, Pumba, Nuts, Steve, Formo, Don, Deb, Michelle, June & Pete for joining me on this ride. Life doesn t get much better! HarryR 8

9 Christmas Visit to Glasshouse Views On Sunday 2nd December, a small group of us, Steve, Glen, Spider & Skinknee, Storm, Peta & I, headed to Glasshouse Views for our Annual Christmas Visit. It was a nice day and all the oldies were really keen to go for a ride -it was wonderful to see all their smiles as they rode around the grounds. Once the rides were over we headed in for morning tea and then Spider dond her Santa Hat and handed out a Chrissy decca & a bag of lollies to all the oldies. It was a lovely morning so wonderful to see all the smiles and laughter we look forward to doing it again this year. June Saggy 2 December

10 Another great ride had by all. Enjoying lunch before the ride home again. Thanks guys for supporting the rides. Make sure you get your Ticket for the draw at the monthly Branch Meetings. MYSTERY RIDE Well it was a bloody hot day but a few of us decided to go for a short ride to Mooloolah. Peta & I, Steve, Royal & Kickann, Brenden and Spider & Michelle headed around the back of Elimbah through Beerburrum onto Steve Irwin Way into Glasshouse along Fullerton Road through the back of Landsborough up Tunnel ridge Road into Moolooolah. Due to the heat we headed back to The Glasshouse Tavern for a cool drink but the aircon wasn t working so we headed up to the Dag Pub for Lunch & the airconditioning. It was nice, only short, but everyone was happy to head home to their aircons. WELCOME TO HELL TOWN!!!! What a turn out. 24 people in total. 2 cars, 1 trike and 18 bikes. First stop was Kenilworth cheese factory for a light morning tea and then onto Gympie, which confused people because we went straight through and back out on to highway heading back to Brisbane. Just outside Gympie is a small spot called Hell Town. They do restorations on vehicles and also have small take a way as well as a bit of museum. This was our lunch stop. We had straight bits, twisty bits, scenic bits and {as it was pointed out to me} BUMPY bits. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and even though it was a MYSTERY ride the question was still asked WHERE ARE WE GOING. PAM {BITCH} 10

11 Fort lytton national park On Sunday 21 st Jan Don & Judy took us Steve, Brenden, Spider & Skinknee, June & Peta for a trip down memory lane. We around through Deception Bay along the Redcliffe waterfront onto the M1 and over the Gateway turning off at the port heading to Fishermans Island for a snoop around!!!! We then headed to Fort Lytton where we went for a walk around looking at the history of the fort. Lunch was Cornbeef & pickles sangers under the rotund. Thanks to everyone great ride & great company!!!! 11
