3 3 Secretary Barb Harris Minutes of August 2014 Meeting Minutes of Meeting Winnipesauke H.O.G. Chapter 2529 Meeting August 10, 2014 The meeting was called to order at 9:10 am by Director Rick Bassett after a word from our official greeter. There were no new members present. Membership : Fran reported on our total members of 199 and indicated that he fully expects one more membership this week to bring our count to 200 members. He has processed since our last meeting 6 renewals and 7 new members. Treasurer s Report: No report. Ride Committee: Carl reported on a decrease in ride attendance and Rick confirmed that is the case across the board this year with no ideas as to why. Carl reported on the recent Madawaska trip that was very successful with 5 motorcycles and 6 people. It was really a great take and a great ride. Rick distributed the directions/plans for next weekend s Overnight Mohawk Trail Ride that he is leading. Anyone wishing to join in contact Rick. Fran reminded everyone of the Bar Harbor Overnight Ride scheduled for September 5-7. Individuals are responsible for their own reservations. Please let Fran know if you are planning to attend. Today s Ride will be to the Holy Grail in Epping, NH. The trip to Frye Island needed to be changed due to costs for the ferry and the restaurant. Carl is leading today s ride. It leaves at 10am, please sign up with him for the ride. Road Captains No report. NH/VT Rally Judi reported on the recent rally and indicated that it was more organized and better presented but two years in the same place was not the best idea as most of the activities had already been done. Therefore, they did their own thing. Next year s rally will be back to Sturbridge, MA and pre-registrations are available along with a guarantee of a room at the host hotel for the first 100 people who register. Barb had registration forms at the head table for those that were interested. The hotel is honoring the same price for rooms as it did 5 years ago. The rally 5 years ago was a great success and a great time. Everyone is encouraged to register and plan to attend. Dealership - Rick reviewed the activities happening this month at the dealership including August 16th Burrito Me from 12-3 pm. August 22 Ride n Dine 5-7 pm and August 30th Labor Day Party 12-4pm. Please check out the LHD website for all details of these and upcoming events in September and October. Tuesday there will be an event at the dealership Road Glide Tour with riders from all over the country in attendance come and check it out New Business: None

4 4 Continued from pg. 3 Secretary s Report: Motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as written in last month s newsletter and on the website. The motion passed. Merchandise: Terri shared with the group the items that were on sale today and welcomed all to come shopping. Judi reminded the group there are many ways to get information on the activities of the HOG chapter between the website, face book and the telephone line as well as calling a friend please be sure to check out the upcoming activities and join in. Next meeting will be on 9/14/14 at 9am at Laconia Harley Davidson in Meredith, NH. Meeting adjourned at 9:35 am. 5 5 Ride led by Tom Cady Madawaska ME. August - Friday 1 st - Sunday 3 rd They logged over 1,000 miles on this three day adventure and Carl said they never saw a drop of rain. Traveling on back country roads, the northern end of Rt. 95. They saw the beginning or the end of Rt. 1, depending on how you look at it. The Maine Fair and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. Sounds like a real good trip!!!!
