3 Hi everyone. PRESIDENT S REPORT Well it is halfway to Christmas. Where has the time gone? The ride calendar has been done, thanks to everyone who came out to my place and had afternoon tea with me, and brought some yummy things to eat. We have some good rides planned. Hope I can get to go to some of them. ( Work just interferes with my play time.!) The weather has been rather cold lately, but we are still getting people to come to the club, which is great to see. Thanks to everyone who turns up each Wednesday night. The cartwheel ride has been rescheduled, so hope the weather behaves for us. We are riding with Redcliffe branch for this ride, details in newsletter and on the net. So seeing as I have not much more to say, I will finish for now and see you at our Wednesday night meetings at The Big Fish, where everyone is welcome to come and say hi to us all. Cheers for now from Lyndell ( Storm ) Ward. #39365 SECRETARY S REPORT "I would just like to remind everyone that our General Meeting is held on the 1st Wednesday of every month. 10 Petrie Markets and Sandstone Point Hotel Ride on 12/06/16 By Michelle aka spyder With the weather looking as unsure as the number of riders who would turn up for toady s ride 5 bikes, 1 spyder, and 1 trike met at BP South, for what I was hoping to be as much as a social day as a chance of a ride. So much so even the way we were going to get to our destinations, and who was going to lead the ride was up for discussion. Frank s suggestion won the 1 st discussion, so he led us down the highway to Boundary Rd., through Kallangur, and Petrie to Old Petrie Town to the Markets. Once at the markets we all pretty much did our own thing, we were also joined by my parents who had come up for the weekend for my Birthday. We then re-grouped about 10:30 for the ride to the Sandstone Point Hotel for lunch. And once again a discussion was had about which direction we would go. This time Hacker s suggestion won the discussion, so he led us out towards Dayboro, up Mt. Mee, and down Campbell s Pocket Rd. into Wamuran. Then along the Daguilar Highway, onto Bribie Island Rd. It was along this road that Skinknee decided to give the Spyder a bit of a squirt, and we went from being 10

11 down the back of the pack to leading the ride for all of about two minutes But hey that s the sort of ride we were on. Arriving at the hotel it was extremely busy, and I was so glad I had booked; otherwise I don t think we would have even got a look in at the restaurant. Once again we were joined by parents; we were also joined by Froga, Hilly, Niecey, Kerry and Barry. Most of us opted for the roast meal that were being served direct behind were we were sitting, and some opted to order from the menu (Which took quite a while for some meals). The local Volunteer Marine Resecure where running the raffles. Which a few of us part took in with Jock (possible new member) being successful in winning a seafood tray which he kindly gave to Ron and Sweetpea as seafood was not his thing. After lunch we just sat back and relaxed enjoying each others company and the venue. However in the restaurant there was a strict 2 hours sitting time limit. So most of us took our leave, and headed home for the day. 11

14 The story so far The Imbil Rally was first held in 1990, and just seems to get bigger every year. Around 1200 people turned up in 2009 for the big 20th rally celebrations. We d like to thank everyone who attends the rally for the amazing support we receive each year. The Imbil Rally is always held on the weekend of the third Saturday in November. The rally is held at Borumba Deer Park. The Deer Park is a terrific site and a great place for the weekend if you want to get away from it all. Limited vans and cabins are available if you don t feel like putting up a tent. You need to book early for the rally weekend, as they tend to book out FAST. The rally gets it s name from the nearby town of Imbil (pretty creative of us eh?). The locals make us feel welcome every year, and we d like to keep it that way so Please stick to the 40kph speed limit whilst riding through town as we d like to be welcome back for years to come. The 27th Imbil Rally Major Gate Prizes + Raffles When? November 18-20, 2016 Where? Borumba Deer Park, 1133 Yabba Creek Road, Imbil QLD. Heaps of great camping by the river, plus showers and toilets for those obsessed with hygiene. Cost? $25 for riders and pillions and $30 for drivers and passengers of cars. No pre-paid entries. Note: Entry fee covers Badge and Camping Fees only. Kids 12 and under free unless they want a badge then it s full price. There are no day passes. Food & Drink? The rally is fully catered and we have a licensed bar, all at reasonable prices. If you choose to BYO that s OK with us, but we d prefer it if you do not bring glass. What s on? Friday & Saturday Night Entertainment Saturday Night Theme: TBA Helmet Toss Friday arvo Gymkhana Saturday arvo Merchandise: Rally T-shirts and stubby coolers available * No cars allowed on site * It s a bike rally, but if you must bring a car, we do provide alternate parking at Sherwood Forest Camping area. Please do not ask us about bringing cars on site, as the answer will be NO. * No Glass, No Patches & No Attitudes * The Imbil Rally is about everyone having a safe and good time Where the hell is Imbil? GPS info for rally site: S E After you get thru Yabba Creek Crossing No. 5, put your Left indicator on. The driveway is on the left immediately at the crest. 14
