He wanted to catch up with his friends. So on Sunday the 11 th Feb we had a sausage sizzle brunch at Hackers. It was a great morning and it was wonderful to see so many Mates turn up to say Gidday to Hacker. He loved seeing everyone and catching up on the goss. Thanks to Lyn & Kay for having us all drop in. Sadly Hacker passed away the following Tuesday 13th February 2018 At least he was able to see all his mates and have a laugh with them. Love you Hacker you will always be there riding in every U turn we do!!

3 PRESIDENT S REPORT Hi everyone, by the time you all read this, we will be having our AGM. I will be standing as President once again, Peter Field ( Big Pete ) will be Vice President. Deb Ashton is standing for Treasurer and June is going to do the Secretary job, even though she tried to resign from all jobs. I think she was just trying to trick us. We still could use a couple of men to be on the Committee. Come on fellas, us girls have been running the branch for a few years now, could use a bit of Manpower. I would like to thank the outgoing Committee members, and Treasurer and Secretary for their help and support. I will also be looking forward to working with my new Committee and new Treasurer and of course June. Thankyou everyone for coming along and keeping our branch alive and well. We have our Poker Run and our Valley Rally to look forward to, plus our usual ride days that we have each week. 8 GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS BRANCH ULYSSES POKER RUN 2018 DRUMS Memorial Poker Run Sunday 18th March From BP North Arrive 8.00am for Registration Depart 9.00am Finishing at the Big Fish tavern Cost: $10.00 per hand Distance travelling approx. 280kms Adventure, fun and a chance to ride with old friends and make new ones are all part of the poker run experience. If you haven t participated in a run yet here s your chance. 8

9 Mt Tamborine ride On Sunday 4 th February, Harry led us Cliffy & Robyn, Rob & Vicki, Steve, Brenden,Skinny & Spider, June & Peta down the Highway where we turned off at Yatala and headed up into the mountains. We stopped at Mt Tamborine and went for a walk around the place. What a beautiful spot!! We had morning tea at a local cafe. Harry then took us up to one of the local distilleries where a few of us had a tasting. 5 samples were tasted and boy were they lovely- wattleseed liquer, butter scotch whisky, passionfruit liquer, chilli /chocolate liquer, and 47% rum. We headed down the mountain to Canungra where we had lunch at the local pie shop. Michelle s Mum & Dad- Jan & Phil joined us for lunch it was great to catch up with them. We stopped for fuel and then headed across country onto the Boonah Rd through Beaudsert and back onto the Gateway where we stopped at BP North for a coffee. Thanks to Harry for leading the ride and to all who came along - twas a great day!!!! 9

10 BRISBANE RIVER CRUISE Just for something different we decided to do an afternoon ride into Northshore Ferry terminal for a trip up the Brisbane River. Its been too hot to ride so a trip up the river was a cool alternative!! Peta & I led the way in with Steve, Brenden, Michelle, Keren & Russell, Spider & Skinknee & Niecey bringing up the rear. Jo Mark & Ruby also met us at Northshore. It was a beautiful day out on the river cool & relaxing. We arrived back at Northshore and headed to the Eat Street Markets where within 10 mins the heavens opened and we all huddled into to a container.lightning & thunder was everywhere!! Luckily some of the stallholders stayed open so we could have a...meal!! After we finished dinner and the rain had eased we all headed home. Thanks to everyone for turning up another fun exciting ride!!!! 10

11 TEN PIN BOWLING NIGHT On Saturday 17th of February, afternoon a group of us turned up for Tenpin Bowling at Caboolture Bowls but we forgot to book the lanes Brenden being the only male took over and used his influence to get us 2 lanes. Deb Ashton, Spider, Helen & June were on one lane; Skinknee,Daphne Peta & B were in the other lane and Niecey was our cheersquad. It was a fun afternoon watching everyone s bowling technique some not so good!! B & Deb A were seeing who could bowl the fastest! while Peta was busy bouncing her ball off the buffers!! After bowling, we headed up the road to the Morayfield Tavern for dinner. Big Pete, Patcha, Davo & his 2 grandkids joined us for a meal. It was a great afternoon with great mates!!! 11

14 Go nuts with Salubrious On Saturday24th we headed out to GO NUTS WITH SALUBRIOUS at Archer Falls Airfield.It was a motorama day with all proceeds going to the Endeavour Foundation. A track had been set up to play on and there were a variety of vehicles on display. Spider & Skinknee went in their 4 wheeldrive ; B & Sweetpea & Peta (she deserted me) in the camry and on the trike. We( B did most of it) handed out flyers for the Poker Run & the Valley Rally It had been pretty wet but the weather seemed to clear for the morning. The rain had wet the track so B & Deb decided to go and have a play and we all took turns hopping in the back - Great Fun!!! At lunch time the rain set in so it was a wet trip home!! 14
