3 Hi Folks Well we are in the home stretch of the year October done and dusted, with the activities of September; October seemed a little sedated, Branch attendance was slowly picking up with the warmer weather; and the few changes that have come in effect to enhance our Branch meetings, with the rides raffle, the Birthday scratchies. We need feedback from members to find ways to enhance the experience and rejuvenate the branch as a whole. Daz, Ian and myself have open a Facebook page (Ulysses Club Inc - Redcliffe Branch) that Branch members can request to join, with information on rides, activities and video links showcasing Ulyssians having a good time plus direct link to the National Site. There was one event in October of 7 members of Redcliffe Branch with the invitation from Darling Downs Branch to attend a special Dinner meeting with the NATCOM Committee in Toowoomba, 9 Branches from southeast Queensland gathered for a informal night, I should say more like a talk fest a very relaxed and enjoyable time was had. Next morning we joined Darling Downs Branch with John Osborne from NATCOM on a ride to the Memorial Gardens (view Video on our site or FB) by the time we reached the Gardens the number of rides had swelled as more Ulyssian joined along the way. A word for November our XMAS PARTY is on the 28 th we need your support to make these events a success there are plenty of tickets still available so came and join in the fun! Cheers HERB Page 3 Ulysses Club Inc. Redcliffe Branch Newsletter November 2015

8 Winner of October Fuel Card was Budgie. You have to be present at the monthly meeting to receive either Birthday and Fuel prizes Closing Date for December Submissions is: Monday 7th December October Birthday Scratchies. Robyn. October was a very busy month for the website site and promotion of the Branch. The Dinner get together with NAT- COM at Toowoomba proved informative. I had long discussions with both Helena Gritton, NATCOM President, and Jen Woods, NATCOM Vice President/Public Liaison/Web Manager regarding the promotion of the Club and Branch, among other things. Both were very receptive to my ideas on which I have acted on. Prior to the Dinner, the committee discussed and agreed to a Facebook page for branch members to keep those on facebook up on what's happening in events and any changes that occur. As Herb announced through the month, this is now up and going. Ulysses Club Inc - Redcliffe Branch. It is a public Facebook so anyone can see what we are doing. But only Branch members can join. If you are not on it and wish to be, please request a join. During the Month I have been involved in Promotional Videos for both the Club and Branch. I have been working with Jen Woods regarding these videos and now have set my Youtube Channel up as a Ulysses Club/Redcliffe Branch Promotional Site. Jen Woods has given my site only the second subscription for the Ulysses Club Inc Youtube Site. Big Joe, being the first. The videos are linked to our Branch Website under "News" section and linked to both our Facebook Site and the Motorcycle Riders, Ulysses Members and Friends Facebook Site, which Jen Woods is a member. Future endeavours will include rides to some of our Sponsors and a short PR video of there businesses. DAZ Page 8 Ulysses Club Inc. Redcliffe Branch Newsletter November 2015

12 On Sunday 27th September, Fletch & Barb, Darrin & Budgie put on our Finest Dapper wear for the "Distinguished Gentleman's Ride to help find a cure for Prostate Cancer. Over 1300 Men a Day die of Prostate Cancer World Wide, and that is something this ride aims to stop. Approximately 400 riders attended the Brisbane ride alone which managed to Raise over $50,000.00, and World wide raised over 2.5 Million Dollars. Our Day started with a meet, Breakfast and opportunity to look at many various Classic and modern bikes at Oliver's Motorcycles Moorooka. The ride left at 11.30am and the massive convoy of bikes snaked their way through the streets of Brisbane, a 2nd meet and regroup was at Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens. The ride continued back along Coronation Drive to where it ended at the Morrison Hotel, South Brisbane. A good time was had by all that participated and a huge amount of money raised, definitely a ride to put in your Calendar for next year. BUDGIE Page 12 Ulysses Club Inc. 14 On the 25 th of October 2015 the Sunday ride was to join up at Aussie World for the Annual Bras & Bikes Charity Ride hosted by Girl Torque. We met at the usual (BP Caboolture North Bruce Highway) and a small group of us rode up to Aussie world to join the other 500+ bikes all decked out in our pink bits and bras. We had opportunity to enjoy breakfast and register and meet and greet with other fellow riders who bedazzled in their pink bits and bras all to raise money for Breast Cancer. There were some very interesting sights and the males certainly outdid the women in some instances and some even looked a little too comfortable in their bras. The inner child in everybody was on full display and it was a great site to see. We left Aussie World with a full Police escort and made our way to Kin Kin. The trip took us through Yandina, Eumundi/Kenilworth Rd, Mary Valley Tourist Road into Gympie along Tin Can Bay Road and into the Back of Kin Kin where we arrived at the Country Inn Hotel. A grand Total of 127kms from Aussie World to Kin Kin. There were several food stalls and the Beer was cold and the company was Pink and Fantastic. There were raffle tickets and auctions and a couple of our group even managed to take home some of the raffle prizes. All up a fantastic day out for a very worthy cause and definitely to be repeated next year. Start getting ready to join in the fun. All the Best BUDGIE Page 14 Ulysses Club Inc. 16 Michael dropped me off at the start at Enoggera Reservoir, all dressed and ready to go. I picked up the brick bearing the name of my fallen WW1 digger, and we headed off just after 6 on the morning of the 22nd August. Walkers were as young as the minimum age of 16, with one gentleman in his late 70's. We also had the support of two horses from the 2/14. 3 vehicles supported, one water and food, one medic and one scout for track examination. Civilisation at last. The first glimpse of being close to the end of the first section, and I knew I couldn't face sections 2 & 3. I was staggering! Setting out on Section 4 after camping overnight at White Cedar, and breakfasting at the Gantry at Mt Mee. Walking into Woodford. My brick. I'm not letting you go on the next one without me!
