1 ...your Milford Lions Monthly Newsletter! Featured in this Issue December Highlights.. Pg 1-2 Where s Ed Pg 3 In Review.... Pg 4 January Pg 5 What We Do.... Pg 6 December Highlights During our December 2nd membership meeting, Lion Ray Hill was elected as our President. Since the office was vacated, Lion 1st VP Tricia Shea had been filling in. She stepped up in a most difficult situation and we all appreciated the great job Lion Tricia has done. We know that she will be more than ready next June when she officially takes office as our next President. Thank you Tricia ~.from our house to yours Milford Lions District 44N Sincere thanks to KL Ray Hill for his dedication and for accepting the office as President. We know that KL Ray will continue to lead us forward for the rest of our Lion year. KL Ray has the professionalism, dedication and experience to keep our club united and guide us in our service. Community House Union Street Milford, NH The club meets 6:30 pm every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month from September through June unless otherwise noted Friend us on FACEBOOK Milford NH Lions On Friday, December 5th we held our annual Christmas Party at the VFW Hall in Milford. It also was in part a Farewell party for the Stella s, Barbara and Joe. Since they will be moving to Atlanta soon, we thought it would be a good idea to surprise them as we were not sure as to when they might be leaving us. With that in mind, we decided to invite other members from the clubs in the Zone. We had a great turnout, with about 47 people attending. It was a fun time for all we had a great meal, catered by Nennie s 5Star Café, we had a video show of Barb & Joe s past years focused on their Lion service, there was a photo booth setup so that all guests could have their picture taken, one for them to keep and another as a gift to Barbara and Joe, there also was a gift swap; a little different than our traditional Yankee Swap but being as it was the first time doing it, it was a lot of fun even though it was a bit chaotic. All in all, it was said by several, this is the best Christmas Party on record! I would also like to thank again and recognize my committee members, Lions Alicia Fogle and Lisa Lozeau for all their help in making this a huge success and a great party! Looking forward to next year!
2 December Highlights Santa and his Elves arrived on the Oval, Sunday, December 7th just in time to greet and meet all who were waiting, that being over 150 children (and one dog)! Many thanks to Santa and all his helpers for taking time out of their busy season to visit. See you next year! SANTA ON THE OVAL 2014
3 WHERE S ED? Last month s newsletter left out Where s Ed, so we found him and Lion Elaine in Wisconsin visiting Lions District 27-B1. Yes, ID Ed and Lion Elaine braved the very cold and snowy conditions to visit the Wisconsin Lions Camp and attend the Oshkosh Convention in Wisconsin in November; but no big deal, they are New Englanders! ID Ed had the opportunity to also present a Presidential Certificate Award to Gary Siloh, pictured in the photo on the right. They also had the chance to visit the EAA Museum, Air Venture, in Oshkosh before heading back home.
