1 D G 410 D NEWSLETTER MD 410 Convention Special MD 410 Celebration Convention was held in Cape Town from 25th to 29th April This was a very special event celebrating 60 years of Lionism in South Africa and 100 years of Lions worldwide. What a spectacular event the convention committee pulled off in just a mater of days after The Ritz Hotel told them the venue was not complete and the event had to be held elsewhere hotel accommodation for over 200 delegates, transport for those who had booked into accommodation near The Ritz, venues for meetings, catering and the list never ends CCE Viv Grater and his committee performed a miracle and it was a celebration of success and a tribute to the Lions of South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland. Our Internation guest PID Salim Moussan and his wife Lion Alia passed on many messages of encouragement and enjoyed the celebrations. For those Lions in district 410D who missed this event a small selection of the happenings Congrats to DG Zwaai Krüger and PDG Francis Searle who have been awarded Melvin Jones Fellowship awards for the outstanding service to Lions! Thanks to the Lions Club of Port Rex for sponsoring the awards. #WeServe DON T Miss next year in Wilderness from 26th to 28th April 2018 DGE Tillie Nel and here team are working hard to make it the best Theme Wilderness HIPPIE get your clothes ready!!!

2 District 410D Convention - This was held on Friday where the business of the district was discussed, voting for positions for future District Governors, special presentations and the Green Jacket presentation to the District Governor Elect Tillie Nel. (right) The meeting was addressed by Council Chairman Denis Meyer (left) and Past International Director Lion Salim Moussan. 3 Scenes from Welcome evening and German hospitality room The German hospitality room was a great place to meet old friends and make new ones. The Lions from Germany serve beer, wine, meat products and chocolates from their region and shared fundraising ideas and Lionism with the Lions of MD410. Typical Cape Town entertainment with the Kaap se Klopse and traditional food the catering was excellent and plentiful. Welcome evening
