We held our final zone meeting of the year, it was well attended and we learned a lot about the activities that have taken place and are planned around our Zone. Of interest is the passion shown for the Youth Exchange program. The clubs want to be involved so a meeting with the Youth Exchange committee is planned for Tuesday April 22 nd at 7:30 PM at the Lynn Valley den. All the club officers are invited to attend. We also adopted a Zone project. This project is to assist the North Shore Special Olympics in hosting their Diamond Gala celebration. We will be supplying them with some equipment and a work force to help them make the evening a success. I am currently working with them to establish a work schedule for the required people. The other event that took place was our very own Zone Rally. This is an event that is unique to our Zone. From the feedback I have received, it was a very successful event. It was attended by approximately 45 Lions from our Zone. The speakers were very interesting, the entertainers were terrific and the food at Cheers was as usual very good. To top it off, we even made a few dollars. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the hard working Lions in our Zone for the help that they provide within their communities. You all make life better for a lot of people. ZC 19A2 Bob Rasmus ZONE & DISTRICT WHO`S WHO ZONE CHAIRMAN Bob Rasmus, PZC 1959 Alderlynn Drive, N. 3 REMINDER TO ALL CLUB SECRETARIES FROM THE MULTIPLE DISTRICT OFFICE DEADLINE IS APRIL 30, 2014 RE: MD19 CLUB OFFICER REPORT FORM Dear Secretaries: CLUB OFFICER REPORT FORM With this letter you are being sent a link below for the Club Officer Report Form. This is different from the PU101 form supplied by Lions Clubs International or done on your club MyLCI website. Both forms need to be completed because the information requested is not exactly the same. Please note that the MD19 Club Officer Report Form is in an editable PDF Format. If your Club President and/or Secretary do not have an address, but you can provide a club address, please fill in that address next to "Club Address". This makes it possible for your club to receive the Border Crossing link and other important notices. Fill the form out completely and mail or to the MD19 Office. You will also need to or send copies to the current 1st Vice District Governor and the current Zone Chairperson. Double check with your incoming officers to make sure that their information is CORRECT so we can avoid the Cut and Paste! This form, called "MD19 Club Officer", can be found on the MD19 website (www. lionsmd19.com) under Forms (upper right side of main page). The form is in an editable PDF format. Save the form to your computer, fill it out and it to the above listed officers. This report must be postmarked on or before April 30, We would like to receive it in the MD19 Office as early as possible after your elections, so we can begin working on the MD19 Roster. For those secretaries for whom we have no address, a hard copy will be sent in the mail. A recent article in the Dominion Post reported that a woman, Anne Maynard, has sued Wellington Hospital, saying that after her husband had surgery there, he lost all interest in sex. A hospital spokesman replied: "Mr. Maynard was admitted for cataract surgery. All we did was correct his eyesight."

9 ZONE RALLY REPORT This year s Zone Rally was a great success, there was a reasonable turnout, and many of those in attendance were very complementary about the evening. The dinner was great as usual at Cheers. There were some good door and raffle prizes handed out, some interesting and informative displays and the entertainment was, well, very good and entertaining. Constable Nathan Olson spoke about Fraud, as it turns out there are many ways in which we can be scammed. Nathans message to us was to always be wary and careful about your personal identity, your pin numbers and your passwords. Linda Annis from Crime Stoppers spoke about the program and how it works. It was interesting to learn how the program guarantees that those reporting a crime will be kept anonymous. Financially speaking, the evening was a success in that even though it was not intended to be a fund raiser, it made a small profit. All in all, the event was a success; one I hope will be continued by our incoming Zone Chairperson.
