1 Look Listen Learn MESSAGE FROM PLANNING CHAIRMAN - PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR BOB DEWELL Dear fellow members of the Lions Family The days are drawing very quickly towards what we fully expect to be a grand occasion, the only downside will be for those Lions who miss out and this message is to YOU, who are yet to register. The next Australian Forum will be in 2017, being in the anniversary year of Lions Clubs International s formation and no doubt that will be another grand occasion by whomever runs it or where it is held. But, in the meantime one unique happening will occur in Adelaide. This is your one and only chance to have our International President Lion Joe Preston from Arizona USA and the immediate Past President of Lions International, our own Lion Barry Palmer AM together at the same time. Lions personnel have a great habit of waiting until the last minute to register for any convention and some experience shows too, that the same thing applies to Lions Forums. Therefore, may I ask please that those of our family who are intending to be in Adelaide from the 29 th to the 31 st of August this year and who yet to register, could you please do so by the 20th of August to assist those who are making all of the arrangements for the functions inherent in the program?? A plea to any of our golfing fraternity. It is regrettable that only a dozen or so of you have registered to play golf in PIP Kajit s event and it is certainly possible that we may be forced to cancel this through a lack of numbers which will be an absolute shame, so, my plea is that if you are coming to Adelaide and wish to play golf, please let our Registrar Graham Smithers know sooner rather than later. PDG Bob Dewell. MESSAGE FROM HOST CHAIRMAN - PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR DON PRITCHARD To all Lions, Lionesses, Leos, Partners & Friends Well this is it, if you haven t registered by now, why not??? What more can I tell you? It s all been said before. If you are not motivated by now to attend the 2014 Adelaide ANZI Pacific Forum, you never will be!!! I know that in a traditional Lions World we leave things to the last minute. Well that last minute has arrived. With just on a month to go, all the preparation is nearly complete, just the final attention to detail remains and the only thing left is to make sure that every Lion in our Constitutional Area 7 is given every opportunity to attend the Forum. It s no good saying to me afterwards, Gee I wish that I had attended. It will be too late. We have got the programme, we have got the International President, we have got the Immediate Past President, we have got some great Forums, we have got Tim Jarvis and we have 4 of the most eminent medicos in Australia, what more can I say? In the words of Leyton Hewitt, Come On!!! Go to it and register, you ll be sorry if you don t. If I don t see you in Adelaide, don t blame me!!! PDG Don Pritchard

2 ACCOMMODATION There is still accommodation at the Hilton, but you need to get in extremely quickly. Unfortunately special Lions discounted prices ended on 30 July, but you can always phone them and try. It is important that you make your own reservation on , mention Lions and see what happens. For those wishing to avail of less formal style accommodation, vacancies are still available at our sponsors, Adelaide Shores resort telephone (08) and Hahndorf Resort telephone (08) REGISTRATION Registrations close on 20 August, so if you are yet to send in your registrations, or select your forums to add to your Early Bird registration, time is fast running out. Again all registrations forms are attached to the end of this newsletter for your convenience. These are always heavily booked, so it would be a shame to miss out by enquiring too late.
