2 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Thanks to everyone who participated in the spring golf tournament, and to all the volunteers, hole sponsors and participants who did an exceptional job in raising money for this years scholarship fund. We truly had a great time at Memphis National Golf Club on May 14 th The Traffic Club of Memphis was fortunate to have a few celebrities play in the spring tournament songwriter/producer, David Porter and NBA allstar, Penny Hardaway. Penny Hardaway won the long distance driving contest. While describing all the fun we had from the golf outing, I forgot to mention the great Italian food that was served. I can t wait to we do this again in September. Bob Glenn is our golf director, and he did on fantastic job. Let s stand up and give him a big hand for an excellent job. Our June meeting is fast approaching, so make your reservations for the June 12 th luncheon at the tower room, 33 rd floor of the Clark Tower. With your continued support of our Club at both our monthly meetings and our twice-yearly golf scrambles, once again this year, your Club is accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded to deserving applicants. The applications will be accepted with a deadline of June 30, All applicants will be notified by August 15, 2007 with information concerning whether the applicant was successful, and if so, how much will be awarded. For further information, please visit your Club s website and click on Scholarships, or contact any board member for information.
3 Dues/Membership Reminder The roster has been purged of any members who have not paid dues for the current term. You may pay your $25.00 dues in one of three ways. 1) Pay with a credit card at our website via Pay Pal. Credit card payments are ONLY ACCEPTED VIA OUR WEBSITE. 2) Pay with check or cash at our next meeting on February 13 th. 3) Mail check to the Club s P. O. Box. Please take a few minutes to ensure that your listing on our roster is up-to-date. Thanks for your continued support and membership for 2008! ATTENDANCE DOOR PRIZE! In order for your board to show our appreciation for your attendance at our monthly meetings, we will continue to award one door prize with a value of at least $50.00 at each monthly speaker/tour meeting. Each attendee at our monthly speaker meeting will be issued a numbered ticket and we will draw the winning ticket at the conclusion of our meeting. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!
