3 President s Report Page 3 Hi all members & guests, Spring is here, the weather is fantas c for riding! YeeHarr The Pu y Road Ride was just a magic day of riding enjoyed by all! We had a bit of a hiccup with the Oyster Fes val this year, that we had been le out, but the commi ee will try other means of make sure we are not le out next year! On the posi ve side we can run our raffle at the Deepwater Plaza Santa Parade on the 3rd of December from 8.30am & we should be in a good posi on near the entrance to the plaza. We will be collec ng food & toiletries items for Mary Mac s Xmas Hampers at this Friday s social mee ng. Please bring what you can! We have a busy month ahead with 1. Trivia Ride this Sunday, 2. A weekend free, 3. Deepwater Plaza Santa Parade on the Saturday & Blue mountains ride on the Sunday 4. Norah Head Camping Weekend 5. Also the next social mee ng on the 16th December is when nomina ons for commi ee posi ons are open. (AGM on the 17th February 2017) 37 Sleeps to Christmas, But only 3 branch rides! 4 Secretary s Report July 2016 The Secretary has finished swanning around South East Asia but is now trying out the new Rig a nice big RV so no reports this month again. (good luck to Gary and Sue). Page 4 This allows some space to add other stuff. Star ng this month we are reviving the Cap on this sec on with a bit more organisa on. The first me was a bit chao c so we have decided to make it a bit easier for everyone to par cipate and to judge. Each Month we will feature a photo in the newsle er that warrants some entertainment. 1. At the social mee ng you will have separate piece of paper to write your comments and name. 2. During the break the commi ee will review the answers and choose a winner. 3. The winners cap on will be read out as well as the second best cap on and the winner will get a mystery prize. 5 Mystery Twilight Ride October 29, 2016 Page 5 This was the first me as ride leader and I was a bit apprehensive but everyone who turned up was suppor ve and keen to ride even though the weather was looking a bit ominous. So at 3pm 7 bikes 8 people set out. The ride took us up woy woy road to the top of Kariong where we joined the old pacific highway and headed out towards Peats ridge turning le at the Mangrove exit and then onto Spencer for refreshments, we were greeted by the friendly coffee shop owner and his wife who served us delicious coffee and beverages. Fortunately the rain held off so feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the bends we headed to Mangrove golf club for dinner, where we said goodbye to Lionel. The remaining 7 ordered dinner, which was well priced with lots of choices and then se led down to laughter and stories provided by Big Al, Malcolm, and Kevin who shared some of the mischief and adventures that they had got up to in their younger years. Following dinner we said our goodbyes and all headed home. A big thanks to everyone who came along and I look forward to being ride leader again. Maryann #65662

6 Pu y Road Ride November 6, 2016 Page 6 8am start, 13 bikes 14 people on a perfect spring day. We le Macca's & headed up Woy Woy Bay Rd through Somersby onto Wisemans Ferry Rd to Jerry's but not stopping, cruising through the bends & crisp country air to Wollombi for morning tea. A er a nice coffee in the morning sun, we hit the long sweeping bends on Paynes Crossing Rd to Broke for a fuel top up. From Broke it is only a short distance to the Pu y Rd & the fun starts. On the Pu y Rd we all rode at our own pace enjoying every corner on a very good road surface through to lunch at the Grey Gums Cafe. At lunch everybody was on a high with lots of talk about the ride. As we were leaving the Grey Gums Trevor (New Guy) said he was low on fuel & he would fill up at the first servo which was in 46km. A er about 20kms Trevor started slowing down to conserve fuel, we all stopped at the servo wai ng, wai ng & I was about to go back to find him when he jumped out of a car to buy a can of fuel! He ran out 3kms before servo! (Guess who did NOT fill up in Broke!). We proceeded on un l a le turn onto Bull Ridge Rd which took us down to the Sackville Ferry with more wonderful country side to the Wisemans Ferry then an a ernoon tea / ice cream stop at Spencer on je y over looking the s ll waters in the a ernoon sun! A great way to end a wonderful day with wonderful people! Thank you to all that came along to share this day with me!
