Cost: $20 before August 30th and includes a Class B t-shirt Cost: After August 30th the cost is $22; t-shirts are not guaranteed Each troop should have a member on the Camporee Committee - t-shirt and paracord color and arena station choices are the perks for helping 2

3 Game Play Theme: Clash Royale is a digital game played by many of the boys in our scouting community. The game is played by battling in arenas; to get to your opponent s side of the arena, you must cross a bridge. Each opposing player has three Towers - two Prince Towers and one King Tower. One of the Prince Towers must be taken out for the King Tower to be attacked. Each player creates a playing deck of hordes with different skills. The deck is won through treasure chests. Clash Royale Scout Style has been modified for play to be hands-on, in accordance with scout principles, and to challenge the boys in new ways. Participating boys can earn partial merit badges (to be completed at Merit Badge College in October) and rank advancements. Each activity will end with a piece of paperwork for the Scoutmaster to track his scouts progress. The challenge for the scouts starts NOW, long before they arrive at Camp Clash Royale (Dobbins to some). To keep in accordance with the game and to provide more of a challenge to the scouts, each troop/crew will need to creatively construct three items - a bridge, a set of three towers, and a handmade solar oven (NO commercial solar ovens allowed). These items need to be brought to Camporee with the troop/crew. Bridge: Allows passage into campsites, arenas, and the opening ceremonies. Each scout must carry a piece of the bridge. The bridge must be constructed in a manner that Scouts can physically use to provide passage into the campsites, arenas, and the opening ceremonies. Points are earned for: Completing the task as specified above Consistently using the bridge to enter campsites and arenas Creativity Set of Three Towers: Each troop will need to arrange two Prince Towers and one King Tower at the front of their campsite. Scouts should creatively design three towers (make sure they can withstand being outside and can be weighted down in the case of wind). Towers need to have some area where knots can be tied - vertical or horizontal. Points are earned for: Completing the task as specified above Creativity Solar Oven: A lunchtime cooking challenge will require a cooking unit WITHOUT a flame. This challenge is NOT meant to be the troops lunch, please bring your own food. No commercial solar ovens are allowed - scouts must create/build one Points are earned for: Completing the task as specified above The cooking ability of the oven Creativity 3

4 Geo-Clashing Game Friday evening, after receiving your bag of goodies at registration (Fort Lupton), your troop can begin to build their playing deck. This game aligns with the Geocaching merit badge. All troops will receive a Free Chest in their bag, directions on how to play, and all the sets of coordinates for the other Geo-Clashing sites. Visit as few or as many as you d like. Each Geo-Clash will have a paracord collection. TAKE ONE piece of cord from each location you visit. Paracord colors are worth different points, so turn them in at SIGN IN when you ve completed the game. Tower Elimination Each troop brings to Camporee three towers (two Prince/Crown and one King) to be placed at the entrance of their campsite. Be creative and have fun designing and building the towers - these are worth overall points. Prince Towers need to have a horizontal or vertical surface where knots can be tied. Each troop will have a different paracord color. Using the paracord, the scouts will tie 20 different knots (see guide) to eliminate a Prince Tower. No knots can be duplicated! The knots should be tied from the perimeter (outside) toward the middle if given a horizontal surface OR from bottom to top if given a vertical surface. Duplicate knots or knots not tied correctly will be removed and not counted toward overall points. Once ONE Prince Tower has been eliminated, the King Tower can be attacked. The King Tower is eliminated through the use of camp gadgets (Google for ideas). These gadgets typically require the use of lashings (use paracord). Five unique, functional camp gadgets are needed to eliminate the King Tower. Game play begins on Saturday morning at 6:00 am. Remember you must use your bridge to enter and exit any campsite, arena, and opening ceremonies. A single troop is able to tie 20 different knots and build five different camp gadgets to eliminate an opposing troop s towers. This same troop can eliminate multiple troops. Final say on unique, functional camp gadgets and unique, correctly tied knots will be given by the Camporee Committee Staff. 4

5 Arenas Opening Ceremonies: No arena is accessible without a bridge. Troops use their bridges to enter the arena. Arena 1: Prince - Physical Fitness MB Challenge - points are earned based on the physical performance of each scout in push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups and running. Arena 2: Minions - Fire Making Challenge - points are earned by creating fire using alternative methods (backup if there s a fire ban: First Aide Challenge, Heal Spell) Arena 3: Archers - Archery Challenge - points are earned based on accuracy of shooting with a bow and arrow Arena 4: Lumberjack - Tree Mitigation (Conservation Project) - points are based on effort. Arena 5: Executioner - Tomahawk Challenge - points are based on accuracy of throwing tomahawks Arena 6: Elixir Collector - Solar Oven Cook Off Challenge - fuel (food) is needed to complete challenges - Troops will bring a scout designed solar oven - NO store bought ovens will be allowed - points are earned based on completion of task and taste test. Arena 7: Musketeer - Rifle Challenge - points are based on accuracy of shooting Arena 8: Bomber - Ultimate Frisbee Challenge - points are based on accuracy of hitting targets Arena 9: Miner - Mining in Society MB Challenge - points are based on the amount of material found when gold panning Arena 10: Sparky - Electricity Challenge (Electrician MB) - points are based on completion of 5 of 6 tasks in the merit badge pamphlet. Arena 11: Elite Barbarians - Team Challenge - points are based on completing the challenge, teamwork, and sportsmanship 5

7 Campfire Saturday evening, as allowed by the Fire Marshall, we ll have a campfire and award ceremony. The Camporee staff would love to have some troops/crews perform skits, tell a joke, sing a song, tell a story, or give a motivational minute. With pre approval from Camporee staff. If we re banned from an actual fire, we ll have an alternative activity with the same objectives. Shooting Sports Safety Training Shooting Sports Safety Training is required for all Scouts to participate in the shooting sports offered at Camporee - Rifle, Air Rifle, Archery, and Tomahawk. There will be SIX opportunities for the scouts to take this training. Please make sure your troop attends one of these training opportunities. The first four opportunities will be held at the Centennial Roundtable S. 12 Parking and Trailers Parking: Space is limited to two areas in the part of Camp Dobbins where Camporee will be located. Only one unhooked trailer OR one vehicle without a trailer is allowed in a campsite for safety and evacuation purposes. SIGN-IN & SIGN-OUT Procedures SIGN-IN: As troops/crews arrive at Camp Dobbins, you ll be directed to available parking for vehicles/trailers not being left in campsites. Any gear will need to be carried to the campsites from these vehicles. For the ONE unhooked trailer or vehicle allowed in the campsite, you ll be directed to the assigned campsite and will not be allowed to move this vehicle until 6:30 pm on Saturday evening and will be required to have adult spotters to ensure the safety of the scouts in that area. The Scoutmaster or an assigned adult should come to SIGN-IN location (Fort Lupton) to collect Class B t-shirts, paracord, Geo-Clashing Game information, a schedule of events and any info on last minute changes that may occur due to fire bans, weather, or staffing issues. Scouts can set up their campsites and start the Geo-Clashing Game to build their playing decks. SIGN-OUT: Troops/Crews choosing to leave Sunday morning have the option to leave before or after Scout Sunday but not during the service. Sign-out can occur between 6:30 am - 7:15 am and at 8:20 am - 10:00 am. Please practice Leave No Trace ethics to clean your assigned campsite and the surrounding common areas. When your campsite is cleaned, please send someone to Fort Lupton to Sign-out and retrieve your earned ribbons, shoulder loops, and point sheets. Staff members will ensure your campsite is clean and guide your vehicles safely out of areas where scouts may still be active. Early SIGN-OUT: Troops/Crews choosing to leave on Saturday must advise the staff at Fort Lupton of their scheduled departure time (after 6:30 pm) so adults are available to approve the campsite clear and help drivers clear vehicles safely. Please practice Leave No Trace ethics to clean your assigned campsite and the surrounding common areas. This is much easier to accomplish in daylight so you may have to cut an arena to complete the task. The earned ribbons, shoulder loops, and point sheets will be available to you at the next Roundtable meeting or by individual appointments. 12
