2 Camping Rules CAMPING: Each unit needs to bring enough tents for them to use according to Scout policy. LEADERSHIP: At least two registered adult leaders must accompany and remain with each unit at the Camporee. FOOD: All meals will be provided. Scouts will help with meal preparation and clean up. If there is anyone with allergies, please note it on the registration form. WATER: Water is available. FIRES: Fires will be allowed, providing all Leave No Trace guidelines are followed (unless we are under a fire ban). Absolutely no ground fires will be allowed. All Fires must be in an elevated fire pit with water available to extinguish the fire. FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed. LATRINES: Latrine facilities will be available. Units and Scouts should not dig or construct their own latrines! Bring extra toilet paper. LANTERNS: Fuel must be stored away from fires and cooking area and absolutely NO LANTERNS OR FLAMES IN TENTS. LANTERN & BSA Policy on fuels will apply. CLEAN-UP: Each unit s adult leaders will be responsible for insuring that their campsite is clean prior to leaving. All trash must leave with your Unit. Leave No Trace! VISITORS: All are welcome, especially to the Saturday night campfire. PARKING: The parking area will be near the campsites. HEALTH FORMS: Units are responsible for ensuring all participants have up-to-date health forms. CAMP FIRE: All units must be prepared with a skit or song for the campfire. 3 Schedule Saturday, October 4th Check-in and Campsite building for Scouts Opening ceremony and Patrol assignments Lunch Canoeing/Rowing/Leave no Trace Training Proper Care and Storage of Equipment Dinner-Preparation, Consumption, and Clean Up Capture the Flag Campfire and Smores Lights Out 10:00-11:00 am 11:15-12:00 am 12:00-12:30 pm 12:30-3:30 pm 4:00-5:00 pm 5:00-7:00 pm 7:00-8:30 pm 8:45-10:00 pm 10:30 pm Sunday, October 5th Reveille Breakfast Hike Campsite Teardown and Departure Camp Closed 7:00 am 7:30-8:30 am 8:45-11:00 am 11:00-12:30 pm 12:30 pm Afternoon Events Scouts will be put into patrols to rotate between the two stations, canoeing/rowing & Leave No Trace. Each station will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long. The requirements for Canoeing and Row Boating are below. - All Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense rules will be followed. - BSA swim test must be completed before camp and turned in upon check-in. There will not be an opportunity to take the test while at Webelos in the Woods. - Parental permission slip must be signed by a parent/guardian and the scout - NO HORSEPLAY! Campfire Program Our campfire program will be held at 8:45 pm on Saturday. All Scouts, leaders, and families are invited. Scouts are to have a skit or song ready for campfire. Packing List 3

4 Scouts should be sure to pack adequately, remembering to include appropriate clothing, personal hygiene items, eating and sleeping gear. Scouts should also be sure to include the following: - Rain Gear - Flashlight - Canteen - Swim Suit/Clothes that can get wet - Water Shoes - Extra change of socks Swimmer Requirements for the BSA swim test are as follows: Jump feet first into water over the head, level off, and begin swimming. Swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: side, breast, trudgen, or crawl. Swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke. The 100 yards must be completed without stops and must include at least one sharp turn. Rest by floating Long enough to demonstrate ability to rest when exhausted. Beginner Jump feet first into water over the head, level off, and begin swimming. Swim 25 feet on the surface. Stop, turn, and resume swimming back to the starting place.
