1 2016 Twin Arrows & Sequoyah Districts Webelos Woods October 28, 29 & 30, 2016 Camp Garland, Mabee Scout Reservation GENERAL INFORMATION Directions to the Mabee Scout Reservation from Tulsa Take Hwy. 412 E. towards Locust Grove, OK Continue on Hwy. 412/Cherokee Turnpike Exit Cherokee Turnpike at Hwy. 82 Travel south for 2 miles Take the first left after the bridge Camp Garland is on the right, about 1 mile from Hwy. 82 Boy Scouts and Webelos Check-In Process Check in at HQ from 5:00pm - 10:30pm on Friday. No early arrivals, please. Everyone Your unit s senior youth leader (Boy Scouts/Webelos) must visit Camporee Headquarters to check in and receive Camporee materials. He or she must bring their unit roster. Vehicles/Unloading Gear For the safety of our Scouts, vehicles will be allowed in the camping areas only from 5:00pm - 10:00 PM on Friday evening and after 10:30 AM Sunday morning. If your unit arrives Saturday morning, we will make arrangements to get you to your campsite.

2 Checkout When your campsite is clean and has been inspected, your SPL may check out at Camporee HQ. He will receive your unit s awards. If any unit plans to check out prior to Sunday morning, they must do so with the Camporee Staff at HQ. Tour Permit Tour Permits are not required for District events. Health Forms will not be collected at check-in. Health Forms Health forms for each Scout/youth and adult attending the Camporee must be with the units. Please let the Camporee staff know of any special health concerns you might have with your participants. First Aid There will be a first aid station located adjacent to the Camporee HQ to treat injuries at Camporee. There will also be medical personal located throughout the area to treat injuries at Camporee. Individual units should handle minor injuries. All units should be equipped with standard first aid equipment and supplies. If there are any questions concerning an injury or if it is major injury, contact the first aid station immediately. Emergencies Contact Camporee staff at HQ. You will receive phone numbers in your check in packet CAMPING Adult Leadership As with any Scouting event, Youth Protection guidelines must be followed at the Camporee. All units are required to have a minimum of two leaders in camp at all times. Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco Alcohol and Scouting do not mix. The consumption or use, or being under the influence, of alcohol or illegal drugs is prohibited at any activity involving participation of youth members. We are in the business of setting examples for our youth. Please don t use tobacco in view of Scouts.

3 Camping Area Each Troop & Webelos Den will be assigned an area to camp. Each Unit will be required to stay within the boundaries. If a Unit needs additional space, please ask at Camporee HQ. Field dress (Class A ) is required for the flag procession Saturday morning and the worship service on Sunday morning. Activity dress (Class B ) is fine for all other Camporee activities. Boy Scouts/Webelos: Food & Equipment All meals should be provided and cooked by each unit. Restrooms Flush restroom are available for male and female. signs are on the doors Trash A trash dumpster will be provided on site. Bring trash bags for use by your unit. We practice Leave No Trace, please deposit all trash in the dumpster, and police your area before being checked out. TROOP SUPPLIES 1 Troop Trailer will be allowed in the campsite. Trailer must be dropped. No Vehicles will be allowed in the campsites after 10;30 PM on Friday night. If you arrive any time after 10:30 PM on Friday, you can drive to Headquarters and ask for asstance. Remember the safety of the Scouts. Trash dumpster will be available to dispose of trash. Please provide your own trash bags and keep your campsite clean. Remember you will have visitors walking around looking at your troop. Clip Boards for Patrol Leaders Ink Pens (No Pencils) Food District will not provide any food. Patrol Flag you might need it. Patrol Gear

4 Personal Gear Class A uniforms must be worn to and from the event. As well as Saturday Flag rising and at Sunday Service. Class B may be worn all other times. Rain Gear Bring the gear or it will rain. Proper clothing for whatever weather the weatherman decides. Remember a good Scout is always Prepared Sleeping Bag Tent Appropriate clothes and shoes plan for temps as high as 80 or as low as freezing, and no open toed shoes Water canteen, hat, sun screen, bug spray and/or a jacket Pajamas or sleeping clothes Flashlight Camp chair Personal hygiene gear WHAT NOT TO BRING Electronics phones, hand-held games, CD players, TV, etc. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE SCOUTS TO HAVE ANY FRS RADIOS. IN YEARS PAST SCOUTS INTERFERED WITH COORDINATION OF EVENTS. CAMPOREE STAFF WILL BE USING THEM TO COMMUNICATE FOR ACTIVITY COORDINATION. Those items that are not approved by Boy Scouts of America
