2 Cuboree Dates: March General Information & Camp Rules Camporee Focus The Camporee theme is Medieval/Renaissance Registration/Check-in All scouts and leaders should be currently registered with BSA. Each Unit leader must check in with the registrars and register your unit. At that time, you will be assigned the location of your Campsite. If additional boys show-up beyond your initial number, please pay for them by end of day Saturday. Only Checks and/or Cash can be accepted, no credit/debit cards. Checks should be made payable to Occoneechee Council. Be sure to notify the staff of any special needs on the registration form. Camp opens at 5:00 PM Friday night. Check-in is not complete until a copy of your on-site roster for all participants is turned into registration. All Units must have medical information on hand for your scouts if needed. Cracker Barrels Conduct An overview of the weekend s events will take place at this meeting. Standard housekeeping items will be reviewed and any special information, or last minute notifications or changes will be disseminated. Information regarding Saturday s events will be provided at this time as well. Packs - The Cubmaster may bring additional leaders. If the Unit Leader cannot attend then please send an Assistant Cubmaster or responsible adult. The Boy Scout Oath and Law are the Code of Conduct. Leaders are responsible for the conduct and safety of their cub scouts at all times. It is the Leader s responsibility to control the actions of the pack and organize the day s activities for the boys. Adults are responsible for their own conduct and safety. o No Adults associated with the campout (leaders and/or parents) will consume alcoholic beverages offsite and return to the campgrounds. If this occurs, the adult and their child will have to leave camp. Cub scouts must be within the assigned campsite and quiet after lights out. Adherence to the Guide of Safe scouting is mandatory. Religious Services 2

3 A Scout is Reverent. It is encouraged that everyone attends the Sunday morning Service. Uniforms As a Boy Scout of America Leader, we set an example for our young men. Please wear your Scout Uniform and encourage your scouts to do the same. o Field Uniform should be worn for travel to and from Camporee as well as all flag ceremonies, campfire and Sunday morning service. Pack T-shirts or other Scoutrelated T-shirt are suggested for all other times. Parking & Vehicles Please park in assigned area(s) only. No vehicles will be allowed to move through camp after Friday night. If you are going to have to leave, you will need to be sure to park in the top field. Only 1 or 2 vehicles are allowed to be kept at camp; however, it is encouraged that all vehicles are moved. Camp speed limit is 5MPH. This rule will be enforced and is vitally important to maintain safety for our Scouts and guest. Campers, motor homes, and tent trailers are not allowed in the camping area. No scout or leader may ride in the back of a pick-up or trailer at any time per National BSA Policy. Meals Units must provide their own food and cooking gear for meals. Smoking Not allowed around the boys. If you wish to smoke, please go away from all activity area. Otherwise, if you are seen smoking it will be assumed that you are on fire and you may be extinguished by the most expedient method including but not limited to exercising the Stop Drop and Roll method. Do not litter. Leave No Trace. Firewood/Fuel Do not cut Trees down Units must follow all camp requirements regarding fires and obey all fire restrictions in effect the weekend of the event. o Gasoline or other liquid fuel is prohibited. o Propane and/or butane stoves and lanterns may be used. Leaving Camp If anyone must leave camp please check out with the Registrar upon departure and check back in upon return. 3

4 Checkout (Campsites must be vacated by 11:00 AM Sunday) Trash Camporee ends after Sunday morning worship service. All camp activities will cease during the worship service. All campsites must be inspected before check out. Inspections will not begin until after the worship service. Those wishing to leave Saturday night must have campsite inspection before dark. Patches will be distributed when available. Leave No Trace All trash must be taken out of the camp and disposed of properly by the Unit, take it home for proper disposal. Recognition & Awards Please bring art and craft items for your pack. There will be an opportunity to decorate your cub scout s items. There will be recognition for pack gateways and decorations.
