Cost: ALL UNITS MUST REGISTER AS A GROUP! Cost of the Cub-O-Ree will be $10.00 (includes patch) for all registered Cub Scouts and registered Adult leaders. Cost for a unit port-ajohn is $ Please complete the appropriate section on the Cub-O-Ree reservation form if your pack chooses to have its own port-a-john. Roster and fees will be turned in at Cracker Barrel Saturday night. The check-in on Saturday morning will be only to receive directions to the Pack s camp site. Health Forms: All packs must have completed health forms for every scout and adult leader participating in the Spring Cub-O-Ree. These forms must be in the packs possession secure and accessible by a BALOO trained leader at all times. Please follow National Guidelines. Use the new BSA Health Form # available from Guide to Safe Scouting: All packs should review the Guide to Safe Scouting for all BSA policies and safe instructions. All camp rules, state laws and BSA policies must be strictly adhered to. The current issue can be found at Each pack will have a designated registered BALOO leader responsible for their camp area and is responsible for all scouts in their pack. Families that have other children attending the Cub-O-Ree (older and younger) are required to follow the same rules set for the Cub Scouts. Registered staff members and volunteer Boy Scouts are in charge of operating and directing all events. Non-registered adults may only assist their own child or a child they are specifically responsible for during each activity. Uniforms: All scouts and adult leaders are encouraged to wear Scout Field Uniforms (Class A) for Opening Ceremony, Campfire, and Scouts Own Service. Pack t-shirts (Class B) are encouraged for Saturday activities, and general campsite usage. Public Port-a-John: There will be 2 public portable toilets. There is no guarantee as to how long the toilet paper will last. If you rely on these, bring toilet paper with you. Water: A water buffalo may not be available. Cubmasters should bring a sufficient amount of water for your pack. This includes water for extinguishing campfires. Drinking water will be provided by each pack in a central location in each camp area. Campfires: All Campfires must be off the ground. Each unit is required to bring their own firewood. The cutting of live trees is prohibited. All flammable liquids must be stored in accordance with BSA policy stated in the Guide to Safe Scouting Section 7.

5 Each pack will have a fire plan ready to use in the event of a fire emergency. Fire buckets are no longer needed. Follow the fire safety in the Guide to Safe Scouting. Campsites: The ropes dividing each camp site is to be considered a wall/door. You may not enter another camp site without permission. Scouts are encouraged to NOT jump the ropes to enter another camp site. Also, if another campsite has a port-a-potty at their site, they have paid to have it and it is not for public use. Respect each camp site as if you are visiting a friends house. Trash and Litter: Each pack will need to have a trash can with a secure lid to keep animals out. Keep trash picked up and the campsite clean throughout the day. All trash must be carried out when you leave and disposed of in a proper garbage receptacle or landfill. Fishing: Catch and Release Fishing is permitted at the ponds. Children must be supervised. NO CHILDREN ARE PERMITTED CLOSE TO THE PONDS WITHOUT AN ADULT. Tobacco Use: Smoking or Dipping within sight of any Scout is prohibited. As Scouters we are to follow the principles of Leave No Trace. Tobacco and electronic cigarettes are only allowed in an area out of sight and away from the youth in accordance with BSA policy in The Guide to Safe Scouting section 4. There will be a designated area for this purpose. Vehicles: Vehicle traffic will be held to a minimum. Traffic speed will be a maximum 5 ½ mph in camp areas. Vehicles will enter camp areas to drop-off and pick-up camp gear only. All motor vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area. No parking will be allowed in the camp area. All vehicles must be operated in a safe and legal manner. Beds of trucks, trailers, and campers are not to be used to transport passengers at any time. A seat belt must be available for each person in a vehicle. No vehicle is allowed in camp between 10:30 am Saturday and 10:00 am Sunday Accidents and Injuries: Accidents and injuries must be reported in accordance with BSA policy found in the Guide to Safe Scouting. All Packs must keep a log of accidents and injuries for their own protection also. Each Pack must have a current health history for each participant attending Cub-O-Ree. Postponement: The District Outdoor Committee will have final say for postponement of Cub-O- Ree due to inclement weather. If bad weather comes during the Cub-O-Ree and a pack decides to vacate the premises, then a leader from that Pack will need to check out with a member of the Cub- O-Ree committee. (You can find someone at headquarters tent). This is to be certain that all boys are accounted for. Emergencies: In case of severe weather or an emergency, a car horn will sound three times, and at that time your Cubmaster will need to report to the headquarters tent for further instructions. Any instances of missing children is considered an emergency and should be reported immediately to a member of the Cub-O-Ree staff.

6 Scouts Own Service: The Sunday Service will be a non-denominational service. Please be respectful of all that attend this service. If you choose not to attend, we ask that you do not leave or pack up your camp area during the service. Remember, A Scout is Reverent. Quiet Time: TAPS will be at 10:00 PM, No children are to be outside of their Packs campsite after this time, and all noise should be kept to a minimum. Skits: Packs are encouraged to do a song or skit for the campfire ceremony. Skits and Songs must be approved by the Camping Committee prior to being performed to insure they follow guidelines set forth in the Positive Values section of BSA publication #33122B Group Meeting Sparklers. There is a limit of 2 Skits or Songs per Pack. Cracker Barrel: Cracker Barrel is for leaders only. Please bring a snack to share. Be ready to discuss activities and to turn in evaluations. Inspection forms will be returned at this time. Checking Out: After check-in, anyone leaving the Cub-O-Ree for any reason must sign out and sign back in with your BALOO trained leader. This includes boys and adults. Prior to leaving, all camp areas must be clean and then inspected by a staff member before packs can be checked out with headquarters. 9 Cub Scouts: Family Camping Packing List The following items should be available for each Cub Scout on an outdoor trip. Consider a small fanny pack or similar bag to organize the items and make them easy to carry without interfering with normal activities. Cub Scout Outdoor Essentials: First aid kit Whistle

The following is a list of equipment that would be useful on the campout. Check off each item in pencil as you lay out your equipment pack. Overnight Gear: Tent or tarp, poles, and stakes Waterproof ground cloth Sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress or pad Camp chairs Cooking and Eating: Cooking equipment and food as outlined by pack overnight coordinator Cooler or ice chest Cup, bowl, plate, knife, fork, spoon, mesh bag Clothes and Shoes: Change of clothes Durable shoes, shoe laces Warm jacket or coat Extra plastic bag or container Pajamas or sweatshirt, sweatpants Hat or cap Extra socks, shoes, other extra clothing Hygiene: Toothpaste, toothbrush, comb Soap in container Medicine Washcloth, towel Toilet paper Optional Items: Camera Sunglasses Nature books Scout book Binoculars Notebook and pencil Chap Stick Insect repellent

11 Cub-O-Ree Campsite Inspection: Volunteers will conduct campsite inspections. The scoring will be done with a minimum of 1 point and a maximum of 5 points per item. Pack: Item Description Pnts Camp Setup 1. All motor vehicles out of campsite and in designated areas. 2. Campsite properly roped off with a clear entrance. 3. American flag and Pack flag properly displayed and secured. 4. Tents erected properly and secured Cooking and Campfire 5. Cooking area and/ or dining flies 20 feet from tents. 6. Campfire located 20 feet from tents and 10 feet from all other structures. Must have a 10 foot area with no burnable materials. 7. Wood piles properly roped off. If using tools to split or cut wood, roped area must include the Blood Zone. First Aid 8. Camp roster with a Baloo trained leaders contact information displayed in central area. 9. First aid kit visible and accessible in the campsite. 10. Copy of each individual camper s health form, securely stored and accessible by at least 1 leader at the campsite at all times. 11. Safe drinking water is provided at a central location in campsite. Cleanliness 12. Garbage disposed of in sanitary manner in trash can with a secure lid. 13. Campsite clear of all litter. 14. Facilities available for dishwashing. 15. Facilities available for personal washing. Storage 16. All wood cutting tools properly stored and out of sight. 17.
