Adirondacks available but must follow Youth Protection Policies NO cars allowed in campsites. NO opened toe shoes. Tobacco use is restricted. Work on a sports belt loop (see Free Time Activity Guide). Hike one of the awesome trails located on your Map. Take your fishing pole to the fishing dock to fish. FREE TIME ACTIVITIES Explore the Indian Mounds-- BE RESPECTFUL! Play tetherball (near the Parade Field). Shoot some basketball (next to tetherball area). Practice a skit or song; show it off at campfire!

Closed-toe Shoes No Crocs Extra Blankets Anything needed for personal hygiene/ towels Any medications that may be needed Chairs GENERAL INFORMATION Each Campsite will move as a group through the activity stations. It is essential that you stick to your Campsite s rotation. Moving from your assigned rotation will overload activity station capacity. The buddy system is to be used for all youth, Scouts or not. If a youth needs to go to the bathroom, they need to take a buddy, even if the buddy just stands outside. If a youth needs to find another youth, they need to take a buddy. The safety of our children is paramount. BSA Youth Protection policies are to be followed at all times. Maintain 2-deep leadership (two leaders or one leader and one adult) and no one-on-one contact with youth not your own children at all times. The Camping Rules and Bath-House Rules below include the Youth Protection policies. Volunteering/Service is a key component of Scouting and vice versa. For this camp to run smoothly, to ensure that our Scouts (and their siblings) have a great time, and to provide you the opportunity to meet your scouting service obligation, each Pack and/or Campsite must provide at least 3 volunteers (including older scouts-- Webelos, Den Chiefs) to fill the following needs: 1. Camp Host: at least one camp host at each campsite. If there are multiple packs at a campsite, there will be multiple camp hosts. The camp hosts are responsible for the following: Ensuring that all the Scouts from your campsite/pack get to the correct activity sessions on time, in addition to opening/closing ceremonies, Saturday supper, etc. Ensuring that youth protection policies are followed (see camping and bath-house rules below) Ensuring that all youth practice the buddy system (including non-scouts) Providing a skit, song, or cheer for the campfire program (see Camp Director/Campfire Program Emcee Anthony Crist for suggestions and/or approval) 2. Dining Hall: at least one (preferably more) volunteer from each Pack and/or Campsite to serve Saturday supper and help with dining hall cleanup. This is a great place for older Cub Scouts to volunteer. 3. Activity Stations: at least one volunteer from each Campsite and/or Pack to assist leading at the craft activity stations. Please leave your campsite as you found it or in better condition. Pick up all trash. Check Adirondacks and bath-houses for left items. Please be courteous and kind to other campers in your campsite and adjacent campsites.

3 CUBSTRONAUTS 2015 GSMC SPRING FAMILY CAMP CAMPSITE INFORMATION Vehicles are not allowed at campsites other than for initial camping gear drop off, although unit trailers may remain (without towing vehicle). Drop your gear at your campsite and return vehicle to the parking area. Set up camp after returning your vehicle to the parking area. All vehicles must be returned to the parking lot at the top of the hill prior to 9:30 am. No vehicles are allowed in camp after this time. Violating vehicles may be towed at the owner s expense. Modern bath-houses are provided at Camp Buck Toms. Each bath-house is shared by two campsites, with the exception of Campsites 3, 4, 14, and 15. Each bath-house has two sides each consisting of two toilet stalls and one shower, with a two-sided sink in the middle. Rules for bath-house use are provided below. To ensure that you can bunk together as a family, a tent is strongly recommended. Each campsite has a limited number of 4- and 8-person Adirondack Shelters (3-sided bunk shelters), and there are rules for their use (see the Adirondack Rules below). If you want to bunk together as a family, using a tent is the best way to guarantee that you can, as we cannot ensure that there will be adequate space in the Adirondacks. BATH-HOUSE RULES In keeping with BSA youth protection policies, the following rules are mandatory for using the bath-houses. 1. Only one of the following groups may occupy a single side of the bath-house at a time: adult males, adult females, youth males, and youth females. 2. There are signs provided at your campsite/bath-house to designate what group is occupying a side of the bath-house (male/female, youth/adult). Please use these consistently. 3. Call out prior to entering a side of the bath-house to see who is in there, in case the sign was not used properly. For example adults call out, Are there any kids in here? and youth call out, Are there any adults in here? 4. For children who need adult assistance for the bathroom (or shower), only a parent or legal guardian may be present with that child in the bath-house. Please use the designated adult side for the gender of the parent/guardian. 5. In cases of accident or medical emergency, a non-parent/guardian may enter the side of the bathhouse of youth, regardless of gender. However, it is strongly recommended that two-deep leadership be practiced in this case. 6. Do not linger around the bath-house. ADIRONDACK RULES In keeping with BSA youth protection policies, courteous use, and best camping practices, the following rules are mandatory for using the Adirondacks: 1. A single family may bunk together in an Adirondack. This will be possible only if there are enough available Adirondacks in your campsite to allow for this arrangement. Multiple families may not share an Adirondack. 2. Adult males, adult females, youth males, and youth females must bunk in separate Adirondacks if not bunking with their families in an Adirondack or tent. 3. No hammocks are allowed inside or attached to the Adirondacks. 4. A tarp may be used for the front entrance to keep out the weather. 5. No hanging from the bars or rafters inside the Adirondacks. 6. No food in Adirondacks, as this attracts insects and small furry creatures (e.g., raccoons).
